We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of a 2 week trip to Bali. Our first 2 locations were out of this world and truly 5*. This hotel is barely a 3*. We arrived at 130pm, knowing we would be too early to check in. Until this point in our trip we had experienced nothing but the warmest Balinese welcome. Not here though. The lady checking us in barely spoke to us, she spent the whole time shouting at other members of staff and scolding them like children. She told us our room would be ready before 3pm. It's was 415pm before we finally got our room. When we got to our room, the reason for the wait quickly became apparent, it was being repainted. The smell of fresh paint was so strong and we said we couldn't stay here. The bellboy rang to reception but was told there were no other rooms available. My husband went online and found multiple rooms available to book for the night. After 2 further calls to reception, they agreed to move us. We got changed for the pool, even at the late stage in the afternoon there were no chairs, the pool area was dirty and there were lots of broken tiles in the bottom of the pool. Our new room was far from clean, everywhere looked grubby, with the bathroom particularly looking very dirty. At bed time we realised the shutters were broken and so we were going to be unable to block out the morning sunlight. Sure enough, we were woken early with the sun. We went to reception to complain and the manager got us moved again to another new room. I've never been to a 5* or even a 4* where you arrive at breakfast and are expected to find your own table and then queue for coffee. But that's how it works here. Breakfast is advertised till 1030am but if you want food you need to come before 10am otherwise there is no bread, no fruit, no juice or no eggs. Smoking is also allowed inside at breakfast which is definitely not 5*. Our only positives from the hotel were the evening meals. We were half board and so had these included. We ate at the Asian restaurant and then the Kejack dancing bbq and the fire dance bbq. The food at each of these was fantastic. The chefs are obviously the one 5* part of the hotel. At check out, we were handed the bill, we weren't even asked how our stay was. No customer care or service. We complained one final time to the manager before leaving who seemed pretty non-chalent about our experience. We walked around the other hotels in Nusa Dua and there are many far superior places to stay that here. I'm just surprised that people review this as a good place to stay 🤷‍♀️ Don't ruin a good trip to Bali by booking here to stay!

Top value classic Bali hotel.

A classic, aging graceful hotel. We stayed for 8 nights as an advantage plus platinum member. On arrival we were given the vip treatment. They have only been an Accor group hotel for a few months and they were working hard to impress and they did. We were upgraded to a palace / club room, complimentary breakfast, 90 minutes of cocktails and canapés each evening. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay. The room is a good size, good size bathroom, bath and shower, nice balcony, excellent ac, excellent pillows, ok bed..a tad firm for my partner, tv old and a little small but did the job. The gardens are beautiful and large. Plenty to stroll around. The pools are well maintained and large enough. They are old. The big pool shows it’s age as it does not have easy access, just small pool ladders. Second pool though has a sloped sand area to give easy access. The pool towels are excellent. Some of the best we have seen. The hassle is there are not enough pool lounges around the pool. We were told this was deliberate as not to over crowd the area. There are plenty on the large beach area, shaded by lovely trees. The second hassle is pool chair wars. Many guests ignore the rule about claiming lounges, get up at 7 to claim what they want. By 8:30 all were taken, with only few actually being used. It was not uncommon for the 7 am claimed lounge not actually to be used until 10 or later! The fand b is adequate to good. Our favourite were the Balinese and Mexican restaurants. Prices are fair, under most of the Nusa Dua area hotels. The staff are excellent, professional, polite make your stay very pleasant. Special shout out to the Palace Lounge staff. They were first rate. In conclusion we found the NDBH a good value and relaxing ND hotel. Highly Recommended if you are looking for a value 5 star Bali hotel.

A little bit of paradise

This place is a little bit of paradise. The decor, the gardens, lobby, everything is so tranquil. I cannot recommend the staff highly enough, everyone is so happy to see you and help you. Restaurants offer beautiful food at excellent rates considering it’s. 5 star resort. We took part in the full moon religious ceremony, which was beautiful and by coincidence the moon broke through the clouds as the event finished. A special moment. We will definitely return to this little bit of paradise.

Solo Traveller Review

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The pro's Very clean (in most places) rooms are modern (UK adaptors) Amenties such as GyM and Spa are pretty good in comparison to many luxury hotels. Food Options are varied in most of the resturants Room service (and options are good) Bespoke requests- a couple of times i requested slightly tailored dishes and almost 99% were possible. The con's If you are travelling solo- expect waiting times for food between 45 mins-1 hour (happened to me at least 3 times)- because restaurant was busy with couples/familes- despite me arriving earlier. When requesting for a table/table for 1 often follow up questions were along the lines of: you're not married, no boyfriend, no girlfriend etc- perhaps general small talk and trying to make the whole thing less awkward- which it didnt but hey ho.. As a solo traveller- i felt pretty invisable- not treated the same as groups, couples, families which did spoil my experience sadly. Fair amount of construction work going on (mainly around rooms) which can be loud in an otherwise peaceful environment. Other I requested a room change after night 1 because of construction work and management catered to this the following day along with a note and sarong as a gesture- which i appreciated. Overrall Had i visited with a partner, couple or family and friends my experience may have been different i am certain and most likely more enjoyable. That being said as a solo traveller this was an experience which left a little scarred.

Another Relaxing Holiday

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We had a lovely time, but the hotel is not very disability friendly. The swimming pool steps are very deep and extremely hard to pull yourself up. The spa and staff excellent very good, big shout out to Ella. Food lovely but need to say you need to book ahead for restaurants. Beds very comfy and room staff very friendly. Concierge was excellent and helpful. Needs renovation in areas to get up to standard in these days.
