We celebrated a family wedding at the resort a couple of weeks ago and we were delighted with the hotel's hosting of it from beginning to end. This review is an indication of my desire to share our appreciation for the professionalism, kindness and easy warmth of the people who helped to make the weekend such a happy event. I wish to give special mention to Gerald who looked after us with particular care. Brian F

3rd year coming here to one of the self catering residences. Dog friendly. Lots for the teenagers to do. Luxury, indoor pool, jacuzzi, plunge pool, gym, driving range, tennis, art, choice of eating areas.

Please note: This is a review of the self-catering only. We spent three nights over the June bank holiday weekend staying in a two-bed orchard residence and to say that it exceeded our expectations is an understatement. The residences do not look as if they are up to much from the outside but once you open the front door to the spacious open plan downstairs it is a most pleasant surprise. The residence was spotlessly clean and the welcome basket was most welcome - you could definitely make a meal for four from the items provided. The beds were super comfortable and there was plenty of hot water in the power shower. I did not particularly care for the Liddell pillows so I will bring my own the next time and, probably, an XXXL bath sheet! We were attending a wedding at the resort and for us the standout feature was the customer service. It was not excellent. It was outstanding. Every member of staff we met smiled, made eye contact and wanted to help. Thank you very, very much. PS The residences were very quiet and, in my opinion, good value for money.

I’ll start with the positives. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the rooms were spacious, the bathroom was beautiful, and the grounds are absolutely lovely. Unfortunately, our overall experience was very disappointing. I would not recommend staying here when weddings are taking place, as the hotel seems completely focused on those events. Guests are unable to use areas such as the Knights Bar and the Manor House, which significantly limits the experience. We rang reception who said Knights bar was open for us but when we went there was another wedding. The staff need to align. We also struggled with dining options. We tried to get food in the Canopy Bar for lunch, but it was full, and there was a golf event on both days of our stay, which further restricted food availability. As a result, we had to order room service. We were charged a €10 tray fee, and to make matters worse, a sandwich listed on the menu at €17 was charged at €18, we didn’t say anything but again just disappointing. Service was also inconsistent. At lunch on our first day, my order was delayed to the point that my husband had nearly finished his meal before mine arrived. No effort was made to make things right. The bathrobes in our room were also very worn and shabby and are in need of replacement. Overall, the hotel has some excellent features but after our experience I wouldn’t recommend it.
