Important - The Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian has recently been renamed to The Caledonian Edinburgh, Curio Collection by Hilton. The Caledonian Edinburgh is currently undergoing renovation expected to be completed early 2025. The transformation of the hotel is already well underway and is taking place over a phased approach to ensure we can continue to operate as business as usual.
The Caledonian Edinburgh is one of Edinburgh's most significant and recognizable landmarks. Standing proudly at the west end of Princes Street, the heart of the capital, its reputation for style and excellence has attracted generations of locals, international visitors and notable personalities for over one hundred years. Built in 1903 and formerly part of the grand Caledonian Railway, the hotel is full of memories, including Peacock Alley which represents the historic heart, once the station concourse and ticket office. Surround yourself with heritage and over 100 years of hospitality, and become part of our story.

We were passing by the Caledonian Hotel and, on the off chance, asked whether it might be possible to have a look around. We were warmly welcomed by a most charming and impeccably dressed gentleman in traditional Scottish regalia at the front entrance, who introduced himself as Dean. Dean went out of his way to make us feel welcome, taking the time to show us the hotel's restaurants and sharing some fascinating history about the building. His professionalism, knowledge, and genuine hospitality made our visit a memorable one. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dean for his kindness and for taking the time to accommodate us. He is a wonderful ambassador for the hotel and a credit to your team.

My partner and I stayed here for a weekend. It was such a lovely experience. The staff were amazing, beyond helpful, polite, caring and made sure we were happy with everything involved in our stay. The hotel itself is lovely. The rooms are amazing, clean, tidy and comfortable. We had the best stay here, and we’ve even booked again in a few weeks, and chosen it for our Honeymoon in September. Five stars all round!

We stayed for a night on our way back South after a trip to Skye. The hotel location is great, easy access to Haymarket & Waverley stations - we walked the short distance to both. It also has great access to the Tram & Airport buses. It’s very central to all of Edinburgh’s attractions but quiet and comfortable away from busy Princess street. We got the tram to see friends in Leith and had dinner at the Port of Leith Distillery. The room was incredible - a huge space, we stayed in a 1 bed suite. With a view of the castle. We were staying for a special occasion and we very well looked after - I had let them know in advance by email. They surprised us with treats and made the stay special. All of the staff were very helpful, especially when we accidentally locked ourselves out just before check out. Breakfast was great, quick service and good options. It’s in the central atrium which is a lovely place to be. I would recommend and I would stay again.

I attended the court restaurant for the Taste of Brazil evening and found it to be exceptional. The performance by Daniel and his band provided a memorable musical accompaniment. The cuisine was outstanding, with chef Pedro and the kitchen team delivering a culinary masterpiece. Our waitress Leah was exceptionally attentive and knowledgeable.

As a Hilton Gold member who has stayed across a good number of properties in the network, I can say without hesitation that this is one of the finest. The location is superb and the accommodation excellent, but what truly sets it apart is the staff. A special mention to Yannic Grawitter, our personal concierge. Knowing that my son had just graduated in computer science at St. Andrews, and that I work in AI and technology, Yannick left a welcome card in our room with a message written in hexadecimal. We sat and decoded it together with genuine delight, with a thoughtful bottle of bubbly to welcome us. It's amazing that someone would take the time to craft a personal message in code, which says everything about how attentively this team looks after its guests. That same care ran right through the stay, from the concierge team to the reception manager; every interaction was warm, professional and genuinely faultless. The breakfast deserves its own line: outstanding quality. If you're heading to Edinburgh, I couldn't recommend The Caledonian more highly. Thank you to Yannick and the whole team for making our stay so memorable. #Hilton #CurioCollection #Edinburgh #Hospitality #CustomerExperience
