Today, it stands as a cultural novelty, complete with luxury accommodations, fine dining, and access to glorious wilderness and mountain adventure. Guest rooms are housed in either the main building, The Lodge at The Stanley, or Overlook Condos, and every space includes flat-panel television, pillow-top mattress, and complimentary wireless Internet access. Awful

Absolutely awful. There is nothing charming about this hotel. Staff were unhelpful and appeared overwhelmed at all times. No daily servicing of the room. An overpriced tourist trap

Yuck! Stay away!

The construction is a mess throughout the facility. The interior lobby, once you find it since you have to go in the basement entrance, is chaotic and then our room was absolutely terrible. Torn carpet, a portable room air conditioner that was loud and in the way, unprofessional service from overworked staff and all this for over $500 a night. Stay anyplace else. Maybe with all the construction, someday the Stanley will be back to a first rate hotel, but it’s not that now!

Our Spooky, Perfect Stay

The Stanley Hotel was a beautiful and fun experience, from the original beautiful rooms and hallways to the closeness of the Rocky Mountain National Park. As you get to walk around the hotel you get to witness the history of the Stanley Hotel as well as the cool connection to Stephen King's inspiration for The Shining. On top of that, our ghost tour of the Stanley Hotel was an amazing experience especially thanks to our fun and educational tour guide, Jim. I HIGHLY suggest if you are staying the night at the Stanely, experience the ghost tour with Jim and you will not regret it!

Yuck

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

So disappointing. We expected a beautiful old hotel with elegance. We got a cheap horror film cult experience and poor customer service. I guess because there is a good percentage of guests who are young and in cheap horror costumes looking for the fake paranormal entertainment. Our room had no hand soap, no hair dryer, who maybe don’t respect elegantl provision. The hotel is falling into disrepair; while they have lots of expansion construction going on. Skip this hotel this year. Maybe next year it’ll be a better ambiance.
