Wow. Thompson Madrid may very well be the best hotel experience I have ever had anywhere in the world. The property itself is beautiful, modern, stylish, and perfectly located. But what separates Thompson Madrid from other luxury hotels is the extraordinary level of hospitality. I've stayed in many high-end hotels, and I honestly cannot think of another property that has made me feel as valued and genuinely cared for as this one. Lenny and Sergio, the front-of-house managers, were absolutely outstanding. They consistently went above and beyond and somehow managed to make every interaction feel personal. They made me feel less like a hotel guest and more like a VIP. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail were truly remarkable. Mario at the front desk was equally exceptional. He helped coordinate food and beverage requests throughout my stay and even advocated on my behalf when there were challenges with a restaurant accommodation. It's rare to see someone take that level of ownership over a guest's experience, and I greatly appreciated it. I also want to recognize David, the bar manager at the rooftop pool. Unfortunately, the pool was closed during part of my stay, but David handled the situation with genuine hospitality and professionalism. He offered me a complimentary cocktail and, more importantly, made me feel valued and appreciated as a guest. That kind of service leaves a lasting impression. What stands out most about Thompson Madrid is that every member of the team seems empowered to create memorable experiences. They don't simply provide service—they create genuine hospitality. Every interaction felt sincere, thoughtful, and personal. I've stayed at wonderful hotels all over the world, but Thompson Madrid set a new standard for me. The level of care shown by the staff was unlike anything I've experienced before. In fact, I can honestly say that this hotel alone is a reason for me to return to Madrid. That's perhaps the highest compliment I can give. If you're looking for a luxury hotel where the service is every bit as impressive as the property itself, Thompson Madrid is in a class of its own.

Everything about the Thompson was perfect. Friendly and helpful staff (from check-in, restaurant, concierge). Our concierge Nickah especially went above and beyond helping us - we really appreciated it!!! Lenny in lobby very fun to chat with. Highly recommend!

My stay at Thompson Madrid was one of the most disappointing luxury hotel experiences I have had. I booked through the American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts program specifically because of the enhanced guest benefits and elevated level of service it promises. Unfortunately, none of that seemed to matter upon arrival. After a 14-hour international flight, I arrived at the hotel hoping for some flexibility with check-in. I was informed that my room would not be available until 3:00 PM despite personally observing numerous guests checking out and multiple rooms becoming available. Neither the front desk staff nor the manager made any meaningful effort to accommodate an early check-in request or offer a reasonable alternative. To make matters worse, my request for a room upgrade was also denied without explanation, despite booking through Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts and discussing the matter directly with hotel management. Luxury hospitality is not just about a beautiful building—it’s about making guests feel valued. Instead, I felt that my loyalty, my booking channel, and my concerns were completely ignored. The lack of flexibility, empathy, and recognition of premium guest benefits was extremely disappointing. While the location and design of the hotel are excellent, the service experience fell far below the standards expected from a luxury property carrying the Thompson and Hyatt names. I would not return and would encourage travelers considering luxury accommodations in Madrid to explore other options that genuinely prioritize guest experience.

Thompson Madrid is truly a five star experience from beginning to end. The hotel has so much to offer before you even step out onto the streets of Madrid. The hotel is beautiful, spotless, cozy, and has such a warm ambiance. Every single staff member was kind, helpful, and professional. I would highly recommend staying here!
