The most fabulous hotel! We had originally booked the Puente Romano as it was our wedding anniversary and we got married in Marbella ten years ago, however my husband found the Kimpton and I immediately fell in love with the aesthetic and the price for more nights with dinner included was much better! We've never stayed at the Puente Romano so can't really compare our stay, however we have stayed at five star hotels in the UK, Grantley Hall, The Savoy, Linthwaite House, just a few, and I can confidently say that the experience was comparable. We had arranged a car to pick us up from the airport via the hotel, the gentleman was waiting for us as soon as we arrived and helped with our luggage. Amazing and comfortable, the branded water in the car was a nice touch. Concierge greeted us at the hotel, so friendly and helpful. The smell when you walk into reception! It's divine! I wanted to buy it and wear it as perfume! We had a lovely gorgeous lady at check in who knew it was our anniversary and congratulated us which was a lovely touch. Guest services then took us on a tour of the hotel and gave us some information, something we've never had at any hotel previously. We were given room 227 which had the most beautiful sea view and the biggest balcony I think we've ever had. Shortly after we arrived to the room a gentleman brought a heart shaped red cake and chocolates with cutlery, so special, we hadn't requested this, again just a lovely touch from the hotel. We popped the LP from the mini bar and devoured immediately! The room was 10/10, the art and colours and decor again, so chic. Me and my daughter spent a lot of time in our yellow robe and slippers! I had taken lots of toiletries but ended up using the diptyque products the majority of the time as they smelled so nice! Housekeeping came every day and cleaned thoroughly, and gave us new towels and water. You could also asked housekeeping not to clean by pressing a do not disturb button. The turndown service was the cutest, a little chocolate and additional water at the sides of our beds. The food was incredible! We ate at the Azul bar, Escondido roof top, the pool, and we also went to Jara nearly every night. A special mention to the Jara staff who were so lovely and welcoming, especially to my children. It was 10/10 service. The appetizer changed daily and was always delicious and the bread filled with butter! The manager suggested a red wine on our last night and it was sublime! We also booked lunch at La Cabane one day, the hotel provides a buggy service to and from the beach club. The food there was again incredible, I'd requested a table by the sea and this was fulfilled. The vibe was brilliant, and the decor again just gorgeous. Children aren't allowed in the pool but we knew this beforehand. We also ate at Rachel's Eco Love a couple of times and really enjoyed it, the kids especially, my daughter loves a matcha! The children didn't go to the kids club, but we did book the racket club one day for an hour, great service and fun. You can also book padel. This was right next to the hotel. There was a small issue whilst we were there with us accessing the rooftop with our children. I had confirmed before our stay that our children were allowed on the rooftop with us for drinks and food, I knew that they were not allowed in the pool and this was fine. Guest services also confirmed this information at check in. We arrived for some food and drinks on the first night and there was a sign that said adults only but we walked past towards the bar. A staff member greeted us and said that children weren't allowed however it was quiet so it was ok. We sat down and had some lovely cocktails and food, the rooftop is a gorgeous space with the most fantastic sunsets. The second day I went back to reception to ask again about whether the children were allowed as it was our anniversary and we wanted to have a drink up there after Jara, before bed. Reception assured me that children were allowed, however it isn't recommended and this was probably communicated badly. We headed back up after Jara and sat down. A staff member came over and said that the children weren't allowed. My husband explained about our conversation with reception. The lady brought the manager over, again my husband tried to explain, the manager asked us to leave. My husband isn't someone to kick up a fuss however it was rather embarrassing and we'd checked beforehand, so we went back down to reception to talk to them about it. Reception sent a gentleman up to the rooftop to talk to the manager and we were then told we were allowed to go back up. We were greeted by the loveliest lady who made us feel so welcome and this was really appreciated. Again drinks were perfect and we had a lovely time, however at this point my children were mortified and didn't want to go up again, which I can understand. This by no means ruined our stay but it does need clarifying properly. Maybe an age restriction, my children are older, not running about, crying etc. Or a designated space, the rooftop is huge and there could be adult only areas easily. Or possibly no children after 10/11pm. I'm not sure on the solution, however it does need resolving. I don't want to finish on a low because that really doesn't reflect our stay at all. We won't stay anywhere else in Marbella now! And can't wait to come back. The staff really make it, even down to the vibrant uniforms, the way they always smile and say hello, everyone seems like they genuinely enjoy working there which makes a huge difference. A big thank you for the little touches that meant a lot!

The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The breakfast was excellent, the pool area was beautiful, the rooftop bar was great, the food was very good, and we enjoyed the pleasant Social Hour as well as the beautifully maintained outdoor areas. A good hotel is never better than its “software” — meaning its people — and in this respect the hotel scores very highly. The staff were exceptionally friendly and always smiling, doing everything they could to make our stay even more enjoyable. If there is one negative comment to make, it would be the very loud music everywhere — around the pool area, in the breakfast room, and in the restaurant. We are “well into adulthood,” so perhaps we are not quite the target audience for this hotel, but constant loud music can become a bit tiring. Despite this, we had a very pleasant stay and would be happy to return.
