Another Superb Stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 hours ago

We love coming to The Peabody! The place has been kept up exquisitely. The Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The restaurants, shopping and amenities are first class. And the ducks are great fun! A short walk to Beale Street and music, dancing and fun await! First time visit to Chez Philippe, the French Restaurant, proved amazing, with an utterly wonderful, carefully conceived and executed menu and a great Chef and Staff. All in all, a memorable stay at one of the Nation's great hotels with great value provided. Will return soon!

Not worth the money

I was disappointed staying at the Peabody. The location was good, but other than that everything was mediocre at best. Room are extremely dated and I would not stay here again.

Wonderful room and front desk attendant- bad service at the restaurant and lobby

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I appreciated the early check in and the woman at the front desk was so nice. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. The bathroom needs updating and is a bit small but nice nonetheless. The service in the lobby bar and at Capriccio was not up to the standards expected at this hotel. The service was slow and forgetful, and both in the lobby and the bar, the servers actually got surly when they made a mistake. In fact, the manager at the bar corrected the waiter who got upset about getting the drink order wrong- at me! The manager made it right. They do not automatically offer turn down service, and I complained. The housekeeping manager, Jessica, called my cell and was rather rude and angry. I told her the issue was resolved and she hung up on me. Turn down was provided that night but they took the sashes from the robes in a passive aggressive show of irritation. So weird. The nice lady who checked us in checked us out. She and the room were nice. I hope the manager contacts me. $150 for 2 brunches and the worst service imaginable. Four stars for the nice lady and room. One star for value at Capriccio for brunch. Go across the street. I will come back for the location and room but we were not treated well except by front desk lady and the guy who took our bags to store.

The place to stay downtown

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I was happy with my choice of the Peabody - there was quite a bit of chaos and noise from a rooftop party going on (which seems to take place every Thursday from what I gathered), but it ended early enough, and I got the feeling that this is the best hotel downtown has to offer. I gave it 4 stars because my room was just ok, and the food fairly average too. But if find myself in Memphis, I’d likely stay here again.
