Junior suite was very comfortable and had an excellent view. Concierge helped us get oriented to Nice and beyond. Service at breakfast was slow and not always friendly. Left our table at dinner because service did not appear. Told waiter we were ready to order. He nodded, said he’d be back, then disappeared.

There are so many issues with the service at this hotel that it is challenging to be concise. Spent 9 nights here in a sea view suite. There is a lack of management oversight, staff empowerment and streamlined processes. Hard to believe there is black mold along the bottom of the shower. Didn’t housekeeping staff see this - why don’t they report it to management? When we arrived as we always do, we provided our preferences to housekeeping - i.e. - Water type and count, bedding as in no blanket but two sheets, extra towels, dark roast espresso, etc. These were ignored through the visit, and each day we had to call a few times to request the items. The evening turndown service rarely refills all towels and paper products. On one day, our room was not serviced until 6pm. However there were errors of omissions once again. The morning buffet breakfast is a chaotic event and if items are ordered from the menu they are frequently not prepared properly. We visited the terrace restaurant for a drink in late afternoon, they were understaffed and no one took our order, so we left after 20 minutes. There is no electronic communications available for requesting services, so you have to call the switchboard and then they pass along the request. But frequently you don’t hear back and then when you call the switchboard again, they are surprised no one responded. The air conditioning system is set too warm and doesn’t cool the room properly. The issue for us is that we are accustomed to true five star hotels and this is not even though it is advertised as such. I contacted American Express Fine Hotels and told them they should withdraw this hotel from the program as it is not at the level suitable for their customer base. I could go about many other issues, but you get the picture.

An absolutely fantastic hotel. I can’t say enough about the location, it’s hard to beat. Everything felt convenient and walkable, and it made our stay in Nice incredibly enjoyable. The staff throughout the hotel was impeccable. Everyone was very friendly, accommodating, genuinely kind, and more than willing to help. Their level of hospitality really stood out and made us feel very welcome. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and truly wanted to give it five stars. The only reason I’m giving four instead of five is due to the service situation at the rooftop bar. I suffered an ankle injury during our stay, which made getting around difficult, so having good service on-site became especially important. I want to be clear, I’m not criticizing the staff themselves because they were trying their best. The issue seemed to be that the rooftop bar simply wasn’t staffed appropriately. On multiple occasions the restaurant was at full capacity, and staff were shifted to the dining areas. Several times we couldn’t get service and eventually had to go inside and wait at the bar ourselves. Another frustration was that when the restaurant became busy, menu service at the bar was no longer offered. Under normal circumstances that might have been a minor inconvenience, but with limited mobility, going elsewhere wasn’t easy. Overall, this is still a wonderful hotel with outstanding staff and a fantastic location. I’d happily stay again and hope the rooftop staffing issues improve because that was really the only thing keeping this from being a five-star experience. This sounds like a real traveler review—positive with one specific criticism rather than sounding generated.

Hotel was delightful. Excellent service. Restaurant was average. Slow service, especially breakfast. Assumed eating from the buffet so menu service was slow. Food at breakfast and dinner average.
