Just a few kilometers from the serenity of Mount Athos, on a tranquil peninsula in northeastern Greece, Eagles Palace is a welcoming retreat. Miles of sandy beach and verdant forests surround this Small Luxury Hotels of the World affiliate. Accommodations showcase a timeless and contemporary style, while the gourmet scene offers a dazzling range, from tête-à-tête candlelight dining in the main Melathron restaurant to casual socializing at the poolside Armyra.

Stayed eight nights. Definitely the best hotel in the area, in terms of style and atmosphere. Service is friendly though a little shaky in places, but that is not unusual in Greece. Breakfast copious and varied. Just to reiterate what many others have mentioned: this is definitely a child-friendly, family-geared resort. There are nevertheless many corners where you can rest and relax quietly: most important is that the beach is separated into zones. The pool area is entirely run over by children, understandably. The indoor-outdoor pool at the spa is nice and quiet, water very warm indeed. It isn't really a space to lounge around indefinitely, though. Do feel it is somewhat overpriced: the room we were in had been done up very recently, but the quality of the furnishings is not very high - unlike many of the public areas. Meals in the evening restaurants are exorbitant: there really are excellent, stylish options in Ouranoupolis for about 50% less. About the eco credentials, which are important to us: drinking water in rooms was commercial bottled water, not filtered water like in sister hotel ON Residence in Thessaloniki. Why? Also, as I wrote in a separate review of the cruise to Mt Athos waters, there is a significant issue with sewage in Halkidiki. Thankfully, there was no human excrement in the water at the hotel beach (apart from just a small isolated sheet of it on one day with an influx of jellyfish as well). Perhaps the currents and winds keep it away, for now at least? Nevertheless, it is a definite problem easily seen with one's eyes in a lot of areas in Halkidiki, including the lovely town of Pyrgadikia. It is just a matter of time before it will start to affect the attractiveness of the region for tourists. I would urge the owners of TOR Hotel Group to take political action on this important environmental question which has immediate economic consequences as well.

This was our first vacation as a family of three with our 6-month-old baby and we couldn't have imagined a more beautiful experience. From the very beginning, everything was very well-organized, starting with the airport transfer. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were able to relax and settle in with a welcome drink while the check-in was handled for us. The rooms are modern and furnished with high quality - you can really notice the attention to detail. All three restaurants are very good and the staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating. We especially appreciated how family-friendly they were and how well they catered to our needs as parents with a young child. The location and beach are absolutely stunning. We're returning home feeling completely refreshed and relaxed and we will definitely be coming back to Eagles Palace.

Wow what a hotel! Just back from a week in the Eagles resort and cannot wait to return. The location is beautiful, the team are all authentic and they just want you to have a great holiday. Nothing is too much trouble and they all look to find positive solutions to any problem. The food is fantastic, the quality is to a high standard far better than any hotel I’ve stay at before. If you are looking at this hotel book it you will not be disappointed.
