Our stay at Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya was fantastic! The resort is beautiful, clean, and perfect for a relaxing adults-only getaway. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food offered plenty of variety, and the pool created a great atmosphere. The rooms were modern and comfortable, making it easy to unwind. Overall, a great choice for couples or anyone looking for a relaxing all-inclusive experience.

We had our wedding here on April 25, 2026. It was easily the best night of our lives. This resort is perfect for a wedding. The rooms, the staff, and the size of the resort allow for a perfect day in paradise. We cannot say enough good things about our planner, Monserrath. She is absolutely a major reason why we would recommend this resort for a wedding or special event. The vendors they work with are incredible, everyone is so kind, professional, and accommodating.

While this isn’t a super premiere resort, this place suited everything we could ask for at an all inclusive. The staff was amazing, efficient and so friendly. Their attention to detail was fantastic. We plan on going back in the future. The only downside to the vacation was the sargassum. It was insane. However, there was nothing the resort could do about it. They cleaned up what they could and left the beach in great shape. Absolutely gorgeous beach as well. Literally that was the only complaint.

My husband and I honeymooned at this property in November of 2008, when it was the then-newly-opened Secrets Capri, and had an amazing time. Granted, we were in our early twenties, had never been to an all-inclusive, and were coming off a whirlwind wedding weekend ready for our only decisions to involve what frozen beverage to sip by the pool. But we've held onto our fond memories for the past decade and a half, so when we recently stumbled across a good deal for the Hyatt Zilara and recognized the resort from days of yore, we decided to book a little nostalgia-fueled weekend getaway at the end of May. I'll preface by saying we're not big all-inclusive resort people but we've traveled all over Mexico and tend to prefer smaller, boutique-style bed and breakfasts or airbnbs so the small size of this resort is one of the things we liked most about it -- you can walk from your room to the restaurants, pool, or beach within a few minutes and it never felt crowded (I know we're heading into the off season-- more on that later). We were always able to grab chairs by the pool or a restaurant reservation and never waited more than a few minutes to place a drink order. Speaking of, the drink selection was better than expected considering all the negative reviews, though that could be due to people not knowing what to order-- just keep it simple and ask for the better liquor and you can't go wrong. As for food, Tempest is the best option for dinner, hands down -- we went the last two of our three nights and enjoyed both the sushi bar and tepenyaki experience. Otherwise, the breakfast buffet and lunch and dinner options are pretty lacking so taper your expectations. Also, bars shut down by 10:30pm, so plan to eat early if you're looking forward to a nightcap. Ok for real: if you're considering or already committed to going here (Cancun in general) between now and October, BE AWARE that the sargassum seaweed is no joke and not only makes the beach totally unaccessible and unusable, but the sulphuric, rotten-egg, sewage smell (wafting through the entire resort) of it decomposing is nauseatingly awful. We're not the most high maintenance travelers but even we had a hard time stomaching the smell and for this reason alone, I'd avoid visiting the area during this time of year regardless of how good the deals are. Finally, this is not a mega-theme-park of a resort so I'd say 3 nights is the perfect amount of time to do it "all" and by all, I mostly mean read by the pool, sip cocktails, enjoy some mellow nightlife, watch the palm trees, and not worry about much else for a few days. If you're an all-inclusive junkie or wanting a week-long excursion with endless entertainment, coco-bongo party vibes, over-the-top amenities, or the best food of your life (honestly concerning if one finds this at any resort) this is not going to be your place. All in all, it scratched our nostalgic itch, and was a fun quick weekend getaway, but we won't be in a rush to go back.
