With its spectacular location in St Jean Bay, Eden Rock – St Barths has been the byword for one-of-a-kind hospitality ever since mercurial French Caribbean aviator adventurer and occasional treasure-seeker Rémy de Haenen first welcomed guests to his Eden Rock home on the ocean, during the 1950s. The place quickly established itself as the preferred private and discreet bolt-hole of many glamourous Hollywood characters who quickly became friends of St Barths. Howard Hughes Greta Garbo Robert Mitchum Gore Vidal Baron Rothschild David & Peggy Rockfeller Princess Lee Radziwill… amongst numbers of other fine beautiful and talented men and women… A sense of safety and freedom was established… and of style… and of casual elegance… and of spirit… and of ambition… and all of which continues to this day and is strengthened now with the regular welcoming of very many current and similarly interesting and brilliant celebrity guests and friends of modern times.

My husband and I spent our 26th anniversary on St. Barth in the lovely Golden View Villa. Eden Rock went above and beyond with service this year. We had the privilege to have Clement as our personal concierge again this year. He is the most attentive and amazing guy. He was ready with restaurant recommendations and this time even a doctor recommendation. We are so grateful for him and the rest of the Eden Rock team. We will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay Staff were lovely and friendly Main highlight is the A la Carte restaurants, so many of them and you can book into one every evening. Even when there was no space showing there was lots of cancellations between 5-6pm and the concierge always found a space in one of them. Garden bungalow - there was always a couple of gaps in the curtains meaning light coming into the room in the morning we like a pitch black room so kids can have lay in after a late night. Beds were comfy and kids slept well on the sofa beds. Pools - my one child hated the main pool it was salt water and kept stinging his legs this was the only down fall of the hotel. When your with a group of people who mainly hang out at the main pool it was a shame my one son couldn't enjoy it. He enjoyed the kids pool and slides, they are allowed to go down them on a rubby ring which made the kids pool area more fun. My kids are 10 and prefer better slides so we wouldn't come back for this reason as a family. Entertainment - more could be done only once my children got asked around the pool if they wanted to play football. Entertainment team need to entertain older children more, more pool games and the football time needs to be moved, it was 11.30-12.15pm and it was very hot. Local day trips were reasonably priced and very fun. Old town Rhodes is close so easy access to trips. We went to the Rhodes water park once and my kids really enjoyed it. It was 15 mins away. You have to be 12 to access all the rides so check the age restrictions before going. My kids wanted to go on the bigger rides they allowed us to upgrade however I had to sign a disclaimer to say park wasn't liable of the got injured. I would only take them again if they were over 12. Overall as a family we prefer a hotel with better slides for teens and more fun entertainment around the pool. Needless to say the hotel is stunning, it's well decorated, the food was lovely, we preferred a la carte and not the buffet so try and pre book the restaurants before you go. Reception and concierge staff were amazing. Big shout out to the staff in the hotel shop they were all amazing. My son has issues with the snorkel set and they were happy to swap it. Out inflatables had a manufacturer fault and they were happy to swap it. The friendliness of the staff made this hotel. We loved the water sports so much fun. Staff were great too. Beach is pebbly not for us so we didn't use The sea is very clear and great for snorkeling. I would go back with a group of friends for the food, lovely deco and stunning views. I would love to try the upgraded rooms next time and access lounge 800.

Amazing stay at Eden Rock Villa! The villa was beautiful, spotless, and even better than the photos. Butler Bryan was amazing during our stay — incredibly attentive, friendly, and made everything seamless for us. The views and pool area were stunning.
