When the property now known as The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Seattle debuted in the Roaring Twenties, it marked the arrival of the Pacific Northwest – until then, hotels of that caliber were found east of Chicago. It hosted countless galas, debutante balls and presidential visits – JFK stayed here in 1961 – and, in 1979, joined the ranks of the National Register of Historic Places. Italian Renaissance architecture and Old World style meld into a centrally located Seattle landmark that hosts a AAA Four Diamond Award-winning restaurant and one of the city's oldest oyster bars.

My favorite hotel in Seattle. Centrally located, historic building with beautifully appointed rooms. Cheery staff is always welcoming. I feel like I'm walking into a comfortable old friend every time I stay.

Checked in Sunday May 24th after a long day of hiking. Went down to the bar to get a couple drinks and burgers with my fiancé. It took over an hour and a half for them to come out after ordering. It looked like everyone at the bar was waiting that long. We had our food comp’ed aas did the couple next to us. To be honest, when I’m spending as much as I am at that hotel, my time there is limited and valuable. We were looking forward to exploring the city while downtown, and this robbed us of a couple hours of our lives. Similar experience when ordering room service later, the royal service left me on hold for half an hour when I tried to see where my late night dessert was.

Incredible hotel, stunning architecture, amazing staff with the highest level of customer service. Especially Lieu at the front desk!

What a great building and people. I love historical places so I may be slightly biased. Arrival to the friendly doormen, a beautiful lobby/bar, friendly desk staff and staff in general. Ryan in the speakeasy - out of this world on service and knowledge. Jorge for breakfast was also friendly and engaging. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. It has a great location in middle of downtown - good whether you are arriving by cruise or train. All the food and drinks were terrific

We enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont although it was incredibly busy on all fronts. The location is excellent a quick walk to restaurants, shops and waterfront. The building is very glamorous and uniquely decorated it has many wonderful features. Rooms - we booked a one bedroom suite which was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom - Our only gripe was with the shower over the bath especially when you’re older without any railings or handles to hang onto. The water pressure was pretty awful too. Breakfast- having to queue up every morning is incredibly frustrating especially when you’re told it’s going to be a 30 minute wait. As a guest it’s the last thing you want to do hang around waiting for a table. Bar - beautiful bar with a lovely atmosphere and ambience however trying to get a seat was problematic at all times. It’s a shame the hotel was so busy as it then becomes annoying and frustrating taking away any enjoyment.
