we were fortunate to stay at this, elegant spot, beautiful, romantic, charming, tucked away hotel and yet in the middle of everything Our breakfast was divine I loved the mats that were placed before bedtime The hotel manager was so gracious to us.

We stayed here for two nights. Great service. The rooms was clean but the bathrooms are really old and small. It has TV and plenty of parking. The location is not the greatest. The hotel doesn’t have a functional bar but there is a little pub down the road. The breakfast was ok.

We actually stayed at the sister hotel across the canal but booked a spa visit. Very easy to get to with a free boat ride across the canal. We booked the salt scrub / massage package and it was well worth it! The facility is very nice and the service was great. Treat yourself to a massage package here. You won’t regret it.

Caught the Alilaguna to Zitelle on the island of Giudecca. Walked to an unassuming entrance of a building, and moved through. There the magic began. I had walked into the Reception area of what I would say is the most beautiful hotel I have stayed in. It isn't all stainless steel, concrete and chrome, but, rather a grand old building with history, character and a beating heart. On one side of the entrance, was the hustle and bustle of the Giudecca Canal on the other peace and tranquility. The people working at the Reception desk treated you like an old friend, they were friendly and extremely helpful. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was on the second level, overlooking the gardens and vineyard; absolutely stunning, The room consisted of an entry, lounge, change area, vast bathroom, bedroom with king sized bed. In the evening the beds were turned down and slippers were placed at each side of the bed. The ceilings were high and consisted of timber beams, the large timber picture windows opened inwards; which allowed for the canvas blinds to be lowered to protect from the midday sun. A buffet breakfast was available in the morning, and you are able to dine in the courtyard; overlooking the magnificent gardens. The hotel also provided a free shuttle boat. BOAT! it was a beautifully crafted, luxury, highly polished timber hulled runabout. The shuttle runs every half hour from the hotel to its sister hotel on San Marco. It was my first time in Venice, San Marco is a vibrant place, but, it is also good to escape, reorganise and recuperate from the crowds; The Bauer Palladio Hotel achieved just that, it gives you breathing space and incredible views over the Giudecca Canal towards Basilica di San Marco. "A tutti al Bauer, un grande grazie"

Beautiful, peaceful upscale hotel in Guidecca, a quick (free) boat ride away from the main island - peaceful, with great restaurants near by. The Hotel was a nunnery years ago. Wonderful to explore, sit by the fire with a glass of wine, and wind down from the busy day on the main island.
