The Gritti Palace

On our first visit to Venice we wanted to stay on the grand canal and in San Marco, I absolutely loved Venice and quickly realised that it’s small, you can get around easily and there are some wonderful areas a short walk further out. The Gritti Palace is a grand dame, opulent and oozing glamour. We really enjoyed our stay and everything was as we expected, top notch. We had a warm welcome as we booked in. The bar team were lovely as were those at breakfast, which was lovely. At times I found the concierge team formal and transactional, they lacked warmth. Overall a great stay in a beautiful hotel with what must be the best hotel view on the grand canal. Would I stay here again, no, it’s just not quite there for me.

Best Hotel of our Trip!!! This was the final hotel on our tour and it was the absolute best!!! The other hotels all paled in comparison. We had a very spacious and comfortable room which had a courtyard view. Breakfast was served in the restaurant which looks out on the Grand Canal. The buffet had a bounty of fresh fruit, including strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, which we had not seen at any of our other hotels. It is a very gracious place. The staff members were very helpful and gave us good tips on museum tickets, restaurants, and a great map which helped to keep us from getting lost. We were very sad to leave this lovely hotel. Definitely stay here if you want to experience the best service that a hotel can offer.

Absolutely beautiful 5 star hotel just wonderful in every way

Stayed between 20th and 23rd may 26. Picked up by the hotel, very convenient arrival . Met Mr. Pierluigi Boschian Shift leader, amazing personality, very smooth check in on upgraded room with proper explanation. He even accompanied us to the room before handing over the key. Very rare to get such friendly person on arrival which makes you very comfortable. We invited a couple as guest for Dinner. Decided forChef’s special set menu. As this will be for the entire table and we do not eat meat, Mr. Enrico Florentino has specially modified and created some of the items to suit our pallet which we enjoyed. We were very happy to get Mr. Alessandro Trivisano to serve our table with utmost care and concentration. Dinner with such panoramic view has made the evening truly unforgettable. A hotel with Royal ambiance, lovely room with special amenities and the behaviour of the stuff has made our stay memorable. We strongly recommend few nights stay.
