San Clemente Palace Kempinski

An idyllic oasis from the hustle and bustle of Venice. The gardens surrounding the property were beautifully kept and a provided a tranquil place to unwind. My Mum and I made use of the complimentary taxi boat service, which was excellent and operated frequently. The service from the guest relations, housekeeping and front desk staff couldn't be faulted, in particular Chiara - what a bundle of joy! The only thing that let this hotel down was the F&B service. Breakfast was adequate, but nothing was available cooked to order. Hot food was average. The evening meal we had was enjoyable, but nothing special and didn't reflect the price paid. The bar service was poor on all occasions sadly. Slow service due to lack of staff across the two days meant we were waiting for drinks for over an hour on one occasion. Without these issues it would be a perfect rating!

We had a wonderful stay at San Clemente. My partner & I even sad it was the most beautiful hotel we have ever been to. It was my birthday, and my partner informed the hotel about it in advance. The effort they made to make my birthday a special day was amazing: we were upgraded to a "Grand Deluxe Room" and a birthday cake & a personal birthday message were waiting in the room. Despite the great service, it is important to mention that everyone was so so friendly all the time! Everytime we came back from Venice we were so warmly welcomed. Katharina, who personally took care of us, was such a nice person and always made sure we had everything we needed. San Clemente is, despite it´s beautiful buildings / garden / rooms, a place of true hospitality!

I like to call a spade a spade. We have been coming to this hotel for a decade, originally it was run by St Regis. Three years ago when we stayed here I was disappointed. It was a bit rundown and dirty. This trip it is obvious they are on top of everything. It was excellent the staff is totally on point and friendly. Elen at the front desk and Alessio the concierge - both ***** The food was great, pool and grounds immaculate - everything excellent. Bravo

Lovely place in the middle of the Venetian lagoon! Close to San Marco but with lots of opportunities to relax in the wonderful garden of the island and the nice pool. The restaurant terrace has exceptional views over Venice and the lagoon while sunset is perfectly completing the outstanding experience.

We booked in October 2024 for a 40th birthday in April 2025. We were Emailed in March 2025 to say that they could not accommodate us on the last night. We were told that they would not reimburse us to change any flights. We emailed asking for a reason why they could not accommodate us, and why it was so close to our holiday and were given no reason other than it was a booking issue. We have sent 3 Emails and still have never been told why. Only writing this review because I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. It’s been a nightmare, we have had to change hotels last minute with a lot of stress. I am only writing this review because I don’t want anyone else to go through this.
