Feels like your own home

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Upon arrival to the grand Victorian hotel, you are greeted by a welcoming staff member who checks you in, provides your beach badges and information, helps you and your luggage get to your room, then parks your car in the secure lot by Congress Hall. Cape May Resorts owns several properties and as part of your stay you have access to them, can order and charge to your room, and all have a similar staff interaction experience. We stayed, for a second time, in the Red Cottage. It is so nice, after a day out or evening dinner to walk down Jackson Street and up “your” front porch. You literally feel like you’re walking into your house. Breakfast every day is offered in your room, on the front porch of the Virginia Hotel or inside at a number of quaint settings. Bicycle rentals and beach chairs/towels are all included which enhances your visit to Cape May. Lastly, the location of the Virginia Hotel allows for an easy walk to shopping, restaurants and the beach so it’s ideal for a relaxing getaway.

Outstanding

Girlfriend getaway, 2 nights in the Red Cottage at the Virginia Inn Southern Suite! On arrival, the valet took all our luggage out of the car into our suite, and parked our car! The service was stellar from start to finish! Spent the day at Congress Hall adult pool, plush lounges, full service bar and food, service was outstanding! The Southern Suite was perfect for the 4 of us, full kitchen, dining table, living room, comfortable beds, and a scenic front porch to enjoy! Location was outstanding, shopping, beach, restaurants all within walking distance! Five stars by four very fussy ladies! Thanks, we will return!

Cancellation policy - lack therof!

We decided to book a last minute dinner/stay for New Year’s Eve at The Virginia. (This would have been our 5th visit over the last few years) The next morning (new year’s eve), the whole family woke up with the flu. We called first thing in the AM and asked for a credit knowing they wouldn’t likely refund. We went back and forth with management; they were rude, unaccommodating and refused to help in any way. They said they were a small hotel with small margins - please…they amount they charge, they could own all of Cape May. Actually, they do; It’s one of the many hotels under Cape May resorts! Extremely disappointed in the customer service. This hotel is only out for profit and I wouldn’t doubt they rebooked our room and made double! Shame on them. Buyer beware!

Will be back!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

I loved our stay here so much and can’t wait to go back and experience it during the summer. The hotel was so cozy and beautifully decorated for Christmas and the staff was top notch. Location made for an easy walk to the beach and all of the Christmas activities we wanted to do. We also had dinner at The Ebbitt Room one night and enjoyed. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend.
