OUTRIGGER Maldives Maafushivaru Resort

We have just returned from The Outrigger and we can honestly say this is the best holiday we have ever been on. Where to start? We arrived to a wonderful welcome and were greeted by name as we stepped off the boat. We met Saja who would take such great care of every detail during our 9 night stay. Restaurants were booked to ensure we made the absolute most of our dine around package. Our room was everything we could want and more. Spacious, clean and well equipped. The beach was a step away and we felt that we were on our own coral island. The snorkelling around the house reef was spectacular. We’d never seen such colourful fish. We also saw reef sharks and dolphins. The mini bar was stocked daily with our favourite goodies 😊. Any issues were dealt with immediately and efficiently. The jewel in the crown for us were the staff. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. We particularly loved Joy and Victoria at the Moodhu restaurant and Shamun in the buffet. We also loved going to Kofee and Chill for coffee and ice cream. I did sunset yoga most evenings and it was the best ever! Everyone works as a team at Outrigger and we were greeted everywhere with a smile. We both agreed that this hotel has nailed it in terms of hospitality and we can’t wait to come back.

Excellent resort with helpful friendly staff. Great to have someone assigned to help facilitate our stay. The food was a highlight with lots of choices. We liked the special drinks and foods on the menu. It was a great touch to have staff know you by name. The resort is small yet has so much to offer all at a close distance. We spent time scuba diving and saw some amazing sea life. The reef is also excellent for snorkelling. The spa experience was great and was a good way to unwind. The coffee place and the pool bar had so much more to offer. Was sad to leave! Will definitely visit again. Congratulations to the team at Outrigger.

Loved everything about the Outrigger Resort in the Maldives. We were made to feel very special from the moment we arrived by Neiff, the customer service support and the hotel manager John Allanson. In fact all of the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We were well looked after in the restaurants by Joy and Victoria who always met us with a warm welcome. The meals were superb and we enjoyed the New Year’s Eve Galla where there were food options from all over the world. The rooms were beautiful and we had an over the sea villa complete with hot tub. It was amazing to watch the sunset from there! The housekeeper Adam and the daily room service provided by Asan were excellent and we can’t thank Asan enough for the lovely birthday and anniversary messages he hand cut out of banana leaf so carefully for us. The chefs presented us with some excellent meals at Artisan, the Japanese restaurant Koto, and The Grill and surprised us with two beautiful celebration cakes one for our anniversary and one for my birthday. To top it all we went on a snorkelling tour with Amet who I can’t thank enough for helping me in and out of the boat and looking after me enabling me to see two whale sharks, beautiful fish and coral. A birthday treat I will never forgot! Thank you to all involved and to everyone who didn’t get a mention. This truly was an amazing celebration and one which we will never forget! We are nearing the end of our 2 week stay at Maafushivaru. The resort is glorious, a true paradise, but the hosts were the icing on the cake. Naaif, our GSA was always on hand to help us with anything we needed and approached everything with good humour and quiet, efficient professionalism. He is now an honorary member of our family. Joy, with her sunny disposition remembered a banana for Mung Mung every day. Pradhip and Amit at Coffee and Chill are bright, lively and thoughtful lads and our visits there were one of the highlights of our day. Milan cooked our eggs to perfection at breakfast time. Tyas was always there remembering our coffee orders and a morning smile. Azim was generous with his time and knowledge showing our dad around the hotel services - it was fascinating seeing the innovation and creativity put into ensuring sustainability. Safrass made our cocktails to perfection every evening. Manna, the pastry chef is truly talented and makes the best lemon tart on the planet. Vishnu, the yoga instructor, ensured we remained centred and flexible. Sukantha, Rita and Rohit looked after us in the spa with so much care. The rooms are beautiful and the location outstanding. We are on Day 7 of our 12-night honeymoon at the Outrigger Maldives, and it has been nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we’ve been cared for with genuine kindness and impeccable attention to detail. The staff deliver flawless 5-star service, making us feel not just welcome but cherished. While everyone has been outstanding, we must give special heartfelt thanks to Nabeel, who has looked after us impeccably from day one and arranged our dine-around experiences with such thoughtfulness, Adam, who has kept our water villa pristine and inviting, and Shinaz, Joy, and Pame, who have looked after us poolside and beachside with such friendliness, care and with big smiles. The food is simply divine wherever you dine, and the cocktails and drinks are heavenly! Each evening feels like a celebration, while each day brings new wonders. And then there’s the reef. Just minutes from the beach, you’re surrounded by plentiful, dazzling reef fish of every color and kind, rivaling anywhere in the world. Snorkeling together has been one of the highlights of our honeymoon—an underwater wonderland we’ll never forget. Outrigger Maldives is more than a resort—it’s a place where love, luxury, and nature come together in perfectly.
