We've been visiting Post Ranch Inn since 2004 and it gets better year after year! This trip we brought my brother-in-law and his fiancee, to show them the majesty and magic of PRI. They were blown away from the first moment we drove onto the property: the pristine beauty of the wild nature; perfectly conserved, the abundance of Big Sur flora and fauna, let alone the staggering view from the upper ridge 1200 ft above the vast Pacific, simply awe inspiring. The environs are sacred and PRI welcomes guests to immerse deeply into the nature. We loved introducing family to the wonderful staff at PRI, who greeted us and treated us like royalty. A VERY special shout-out to DJ who masterfully shepherded our stay and activities while on property! We stayed at the 2 bedroom South Coast House, perfectly suited for couples. Offering magnificent views along with the luxe comforts of a perfect Big Sur lair, fire pit and hot tub included. The wonderful Housekeeping Team, with Olga at the lead, indulged us with extra blankets to stargaze after dinner. And speaking of Dinner: Chefs Reylon Augustin and Hoon Kang are true alchemists when it comes to creative seasonal fare, gorgeous to the eye and mouthwatering to boot. Paired perfectly with local wine selected by the enthusiastic Somm's: Germaine and Eric. We sat fireside at Sierra Mar (a true architectural feat by the legendary Mickey Muennig) feeling the glow of the fire and the warmth of our servers: Trevor Kayla, Briana and Hugo. Always hard to leave and always an epic stay, so happy to have introduced family to the magic of PRI, all overseen by the ever-smiling ebullient GM Tim Lee. Can't wait until next time!

Our stay at the Post Ranch Inn was so enjoyable and rewarding! The unique location, ambiance and service was magnificent and unbelievably rejuvenating! Can't say enough about the staff's accommodating attitude and graciousness... clearly inspired by their Manager Mr. Lee, who was always there to check on our stay. Hope to return soon!

My fiance and I chose the Post Ranch Inn for our elopement and it did not disappoint! Our wedding coordinator, Derek, did an amazing job before, during, and after our stay to make the experience unforgettable and truly magical! Highly recommend!

TLDR: Tim Lee, the general manager of Post Ranch Inn, handled a serious issue with alarming unprofessionalism. Instead of taking accountability for his team’s clear mistakes, he deflected blame, minimized my concerns, and even laughed while I was explaining the damage done to my property. His lack of leadership and failure to train staff to handle guest issues is unacceptable. The insurance adjuster, Steve Stanfield—who also owns Westlake Risk, the resort’s insurance provider—was equally dismissive. Neither PRI nor their insurance company is BBB accredited. Post Ranch Inn was my dream location for a future wedding due to their intimate wedding ceremonies. When my birthday and our ten-year anniversary aligned in April 2025, it felt like the perfect occasion to celebrate—and preview the resort as a potential wedding venue. My fiancé booked the Coast House. We even paid extra for a potential upgrade and a bottle of champagne. We arrived early and were greeted warmly by the valet and front desk. It felt magical—at first. RED FLAG #1: No Mention of the Upgrade Despite paying for an upgrade, the receptionist never acknowledged it or offered options until I brought it up. RED FLAG #2: Misleading Photos The pristine photos online hide the truth: neglected landscaping, dead shrubs, and patchy areas that are clearly not meant to be photographed. Not only in the meditation pool, but also at Sierra Mar. Our room had cobwebs… Dinner with a sunset view was next. The ambiance of the Michelin guide restaurant was disappointing. I was definitely overdressed; the attire is casual. The sample menu didn’t match what was available. We were warned, but I did not think it would deviate so much. We changed our meal and ordered the guinea hen and porkchop. The guinea hen was dry, and while I appreciated the ssamjang in the pork dish, the kimchi was Americanized. We returned to our room… and that’s when everything changed. The Incident I had brought five dresses—three Retrofête, one Alice & Olivia, and one Fleur du Mal—all brand new, recently tailored, and never worn. I chose a sequin dress for dinner and left the others neatly placed on a chair near the bathtub. When we came back, two wet, dirty rags—the kind used by cleaning staff—were sitting on top of my new dresses. My toiletry bag was also soaked. I immediately texted the staff—no response. My fiancé went to the front desk. Eventually, the receptionist texted instructions. I followed them. The lighting in the room was poor (especially difficult for someone with vision issues), so I placed the dress in my garment bag for a specialist to inspect later. The staff seemed unsure of how to handle the situation. Just vague instructions and no resolution. They refunded the stay, and we left the property at 11 PM that night—on my birthday and anniversary. Specialist Confirms Damage My specialist—trusted by high-end clients and A-list celebrities—found stains, white specks, and a lingering odor that indicated microbial growth from the damp rags. She noted the dresses had been compromised. She offered to speak to the resort on my behalf. They refused. Tim Lee’s Response: Condescending and Dismissive; Unprofessional. Tim Lee, the General Manager of PRI, called me with D.J., the Director of Guest Relations. I was placed on speakerphone. I thanked Tim for the letter he wrote and was kind at first. But once his tone was condescending, my approach changed immediately. Tim laughed. He said I could "keep the rags forever"—a sarcastic and completely tone-deaf remark. There was zero ownership of what happened. No apology for the untrained staff. No acknowledgment of how damaging this was for me. Just smug, corporate indifference. He passed me off to their insurance company—Westlake Risk. Steve Stanfield, the owner and adjuster at Westlake Risk (also not BBB accredited), was worse. From the start, he suggested I was trying to commit insurance fraud. He constantly twisted the facts of what happened, despite not being present and not understanding fabric care. When I sent a report from the specialist, he asked if the white specks were bleach. No one had mentioned bleach before. That comment exposed what might’ve really caused the damage. The Resolution? They offered $150 for dry cleaning—on a dress valued over $800. But if the damage is from bleach or microbial contamination, dry cleaning won’t fix it. They wanted me to ship the dress to them. I refused. Given how they treated me throughout, I wasn’t about to trust them with an expensive piece. I suggested sending a qualified evaluator to my location instead—they declined. Reality of this: A room costs ~$3,000 per night. The dress ruined is ~$820 My rent in Larchmont Village ~$2.2k per month My dresses aren't just outfits. They are part of how I celebrate and express myself. And I promise you--I deliver. Every. Single. Time. And Post Ranch Inn failed to deliver.

Post Ranch Inn is truly a phenomenal property and holds such a special place in our hearts. My husband and I have celebrated some of our most meaningful milestones here, and each visit has only deepened our love for this magical place. Our first experience at Post Ranch was for our one-year dating anniversary—we came just for drinks and were instantly captivated by the serene beauty and peaceful energy of the property. We knew we had to come back. Our second visit was even more special: we stayed two nights during our honeymoon, and everything from the warm, attentive service to the unforgettable views made it the perfect start to our married life. And most recently, we returned for our babymoon—another two-night stay that was equally magical and restorative. Everything at Post Ranch is exceptional. The daily breakfasts are fresh, generous, and absolutely delicious—definitely something we looked forward to each morning. Dinners at Sierra Mar are an experience in themselves, with thoughtful, beautifully prepared dishes and a breathtaking ocean view that never gets old. The rooms are cozy yet luxurious, seamlessly blending into the natural surroundings. Waking up to the sight of the Pacific or a canopy of trees, with nothing but birdsong in the background, is pure bliss. The tranquility of the property is unlike anywhere else. Whether you're wandering the trails, taking in the views from the infinity pool, enjoying a spa treatment, or simply relaxing on your private deck, there's a deep sense of calm and connection to nature that permeates everything. Post Ranch Inn is more than just a hotel—it's an experience, a retreat, and truly heaven on earth. We can’t wait to return and create even more memories in the years to come.
