Love this family friendly resort! We loved Humberto who was an excellent server at Portofino the Italian Restaurant. He was so attentive to our 7 month old baby! Thank you for a great experience!

Great trip to Los Cabos! Staff goes above and beyond to make sure everything is good. Resort is small but we never felt as if it was packed. A lot of space to have fun. Kids enjoyed the pool and the activities at the pool. Food was the best at Bordeaux and we enjoyed being able to take our 10 year olds. They allow kids over the age of 8 at Bordeaux. Carlos was a great server/waiter for us. We went twice during our trip! Pool staff is attentive and excellent. Elsa (food/bar) at the pool is great. Cristo at the pool is great as well. It would be nice for there to be a drink menu at the pool bar for the kids. Also, World Cafe only has breakfast and lunch. They should have dinner as well. We never waited long for dinner at any of the restaurants, but we went first thing. Some people who went to dinner later around the resort said that sometimes they waited between 2 to 3 hours. We left the resort three times and felt safe. Went to San Lucas twice and once to San Jose. Overall this vacation was great! We would definitely return.

Employees were great. Jaime Pantojan, Diana and Rodrigo from World Cafe provided above expectation service. Helios from UVC was EXTREMELY HELPFUL. He took care of my family's needs on a daily basis and made himself available even off-hours. Kids Club employees namely Andy,Claudia, Tomy, Pao, Reyna and Sandra were very caring and made sure my kids were taken care of well. My kids didn't want to leave the kids club. Room snacks were a different issue. They did not consistently refill the snacks and alcohol on a daily basis. Also, it decreased in amount as the days passed. I have to request it and still the order was lesser when they brought it. Restaurants were slow to bring orders and the wait line is excessively long. It's hard if you have small kids.Ocean was not swimmable because of big waves. We had to commute to Chileno Public Beach to be able to swim. That beach can be crowded but was beautiful. It was safe and patrolled by police.

Family Vacation Review – Dreams Resort & Spa Hyatt Resort (Preferred Club Member) Travelers: 2 adults (husband & wife), 2 teen sons (16 & 18) Rooms: 2 Ocean View Rooms Booking: Direct via Hyatt website + Preferred Club Membership Booking & Arrival • Booked directly through Hyatt’s website. • Chose 2 rooms (1 King for us, 2 Queens for the boys), both with ocean views. • Signed up for Preferred Club membership to access additional perks. • Airport transportation booked through Hyatt — opted for a private, non-shared ride (highly recommend). • Upon arrival, found our name on a sign and waited ~10 mins for the shuttle. • Offered cold complimentary beer and water in the van — great first impression! Check-In & Preferred Club • Escorted to the Preferred Club check-in lounge — bar and mini buffet available. o Downside: Fruit was covered in flies and cheese looked dry/hard — not fresh. • Lounge had top-shelf liquor and A/C, which made the 20-minute wait tolerable. • Check-in required a credit card. Discover not accepted — thankfully we had a bank card. • Staff were friendly and helpful, despite the busy rush. Rooms • Both rooms were cold and comfortable upon arrival. • Amenities included: o Comfy beds, pull-out couch, small dining area, mini fridge (beer, liquor, snacks), and closet with robes and sandals. o Balcony views of the ocean and entertainment stage — fun and scenic. o Bathroom had a large shower with mounted toiletries (no travel-sized bottles). o Only provided 2 face towels per room — not enough for 2 guests. • Lack of outlets in each room was frustrating — made it hard to charge devices • Less-than-thin walls — we could hear every conversation from rooms beside and above us, which impacted our ability to relax. • Housekeeping was inconsistent — we had trouble getting daily service despite multiple requests. Dining Experience 1. Barefoot Grill • Casual beachside lunch spot with swing chairs. • Ordered chicken quesadilla with guac — would skip the chicken next time (tasted pre-cooked). • Would recommend just a cheese quesadilla instead. 2. Bordeaux (Formal) • Dress code strictly enforced — husband had to change shoes from sandals to sneakers. o Understandable, but seemed overly strict for a beach resort in July. • Tried escargot for the first time — surprisingly delicious. • Entrées: o Wife: Braised chicken (sauce was not great), potatoes were tasty. o Husband: Shrimp pasta — fantastic. • Desserts: o Crème brulee: decent. o Apple pie: disappointing. 3. Oceana • Crab cakes were incredible — among the best we've had! 4. Portofino • Husband loved his red sauce pasta. • Wife’s Alfredo sauce tasted store-bought, not fresh. 5. Seaside Grill • Service issues: appetizer confusion, long wait for waiter. • Steak: o Wife’s was great with garlic sauce. o Husband's was undercooked and missing sauce. • Waiter was visibly annoyed when sons ordered dessert while we were still eating. 6. World Café (Buffet) • Buffet for breakfast and lunch only — wish they offered dinner. • Wide variety made it perfect for picky eaters. 7. Coco Café (24-Hour Café) • Our sons and I loved this spot! • Great coffee, pastries, and donuts — ideal between meals. • Only downside: no lids or straws for iced drinks (biodegradable options would help). Spa • Booked a 50-minute massage — it was amazing and worth every minute. Beach Access • Major downside: the beach is not swimmable. o No resort transportation to other beaches. o Staff mentioned two options: Nearby Hilton beach — no chairs or umbrellas available. Public beach with chair/umbrella rental — had to take an Uber to get there. • We ultimately went via Uber and rented gear — it was fine, but we wouldn’t have booked this resort had we known ahead of time. Excursions • Strongly recommend researching excursions in advance. o On-site concierge had limited information, and many options were overpriced or fully booked. Final Thoughts Pros: • Easy booking and smooth airport transfer. • Comfortable, cool rooms with great views. • Crab cakes, shrimp pasta, and spa massage were standouts. • Coco Café was a daily favorite. Cons: • Beach is not swimmable — huge letdown. • Inconsistent housekeeping. • Lack of outlets in rooms made charging devices inconvenient. • Thin walls — noise from surrounding rooms was constant and disruptive. • Service hit-or-miss depending on restaurant and staff. • Strict dress code at Bordeaux felt excessive for a beach resort. • Lack of attention to buffet freshness in Preferred Club lounge. • Onsite concierge had limited excursion info — research activities ahead of time. Would we return? Maybe, but only if beach access improves or a swimmable location is guaranteed. Otherwise, we’d explore other resorts better suited to beach lovers and families needing a bit more peace, quiet, and plug-ins.
