We had a fantastic experience with our newborn on his first trip out of the country. The Grand Velas was a perfect location to relax and decompress from life. Our concierge Alexis helped make everything spectacular and accommodating with a baby. The food was great, the pools were fun and the service was exceptional. We will be back!

This was the best vacation I have ever been on. My husband and I with our 7 year old child went for 1 week. This was so amazing for us as a couple and for my son as well. He loved the kids club and did many of the activities. We were able to have a few meals as a family and then he was HAPPY to hang out with the kids club for dinners we had scheduled as a couple. He keeps asking to go back! The special touches from our concierge, Astrid, were so thoughtful- a sweet bubble bath after a long day and cupcake decorations were a HUGE hit. We can't wait to come back!

We all enjoyed our time there, food was exquisite. Staff very friendly our concierge went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Few hiccups during the stay but overall well. Not as family oriented as Grand Velas Nayarit, and no beach access. Overall rating 8.5 out of 10

Cabo is a popular destination for Californians, and after visiting, it's easy to understand why. Grand Velas is about a 20 minute drive from San José del Cabo Airport, and check-in was quick and seamless. The Grand Velas properties are expansive and well maintained. Despite the large number of rooms, everything is spread out enough that the resort never felt crowded. It does take some time to learn the layout of the properties, and you’ll probably get lost a few times, so make sure to leave yourself enough time to explore. That said, being able to enjoy the pools, restaurants, and common areas without constantly navigating large crowds added noticeably to the overall experience. The suite was one of the highlights of the stay. I've stayed at many luxury hotels, and this is one I'd gladly return to. If you’re one for the details, you’ll love how fresh and clean the room feels (and smells) upon arrival, the beautiful stone floors, how well-stocked the room is on snacks (chips, candy, cookies granola bars) & drinks (waters, wines, tequila, gatorade, chocolate milk, and more), and excellent water pressure in the oversized shower. Small touches like these made the room especially comfortable, and seeing the amenities automatically replenish themselves throughout the stay was delightful. Unlike standard hotels that are split down the middle with a hallway, every suite at Grand Velas faces the ocean, meaning it is hugely spacious, as are the balconies. Side note: I also really enjoyed the drone shots of the resort that are playing on the TV upon arrival and after turn-down service. It has this calming soundtrack which was so peaceful and vibey to set the mood. I actually fell asleep watching it every night of my stay and slept SO GOOD with the AC blasting. As with any luxury all-inclusive, expectations are naturally higher given the nightly rate. In my experience, Grand Velas delivered. I only stayed for a weekend, and do wish I had more time, but still managed to enjoy the multi-level pool, four bars, 24-hour room service, and dinner at Lucca, where the lasagna was excellent. To get the most out of the all-inclusive aspect, I do feel that staying longer than two nights would be worth it. Travel days just cut your time so short. Five days seems like the perfect amount of time to fully relax and take advantage of each amenity Velas offers. The purpose of this trip was to attend a summer wedding at the resort. My linen suit arrived predictably wrinkled from being in a carry-on. The resort's laundry service had it professionally pressed and returned overnight. It came back looking perfect in time for the ceremony. It’s worth noting, laundry is a seperate service. The cost was $17 USD for the suit jacket, pants, and dress shirt, which I felt was reasonable given the convenience and quality. The wedding reception on the Boutique side of the property was beautifully executed, with stunning rooftop sunset views, another excellent meal, and a DJ who kept the dance floor full throughout the evening. The celebration concluded with an after-party at SkyBar. The service throughout the stay was outstanding, and such a reflection of the lovely couple being celebrated. A special thank you to Alexis, my butler, who was attentive, responsive, and helpful throughout the weekend. He made several last minute requests possible and contributed to an exceptionally smooth stay. The only downside to mention is the beach in front of the resort is not suitable for swimming or surfing in the ocean. During high tide, the sand disappears and it’s mostly just a rocky ledge. But this is not a deal breaker for me, as I would rather relax in the pool with a Pina Collada. Overall, Grand Velas delivered the level of service and attention to detail that is expected from a luxury resort. I would happily return for a longer visit in the future.
