Senior trip

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We went with a party of about 30 1118-year-olds on a senior trip. The rest were parents throughout our trip we had over half ofour rooms being caught with Employees in them at random times of the day not requesting room service. I personally had my necklace to one started a claim and they have yet to get back with me.

The People Make All The Difference

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Our stay at Dreams Jade Resort & Spa was one of those experiences that reminded us that while facilities matter, people make all the difference. Traveling internationally with an 8 month old baby, severe food allergies, a medical condition, and a medical service dog felt like an Area 51-level logistical operation from the moment we started planning. To be completely honest, we arrived a little anxious about how everything would work at an all-inclusive resort. From the moment we checked in, Dreams Jade made us feel less like guests and more like family. A special thank you to Loraynne at Preferred Check-In. She was warm, patient, accommodating, and always willing to help with anything we needed throughout our stay. Her kindness set the tone for the entire vacation. The culinary team deserves tremendous recognition. A heartfelt thank you to Chef Gustavo and the morning executive chef/manager who worked with him to ensure our son's severe food allergies were understood and accommodated. They not only communicated our needs across restaurants, but they went above and beyond by offering custom preparations and even homemade purees for our baby. As parents, the relief of knowing our child could safely enjoy food during our vacation cannot be overstated. It was a level of care we never expected from an all-inclusive resort. The true standout of our stay was Assistant General Manager Paulina Rodriguez. Paulina embodies hospitality at its finest. On our first day, she simply asked if there was anything that could make our stay easier. I casually mentioned how helpful access to a microwave would be so I could sterilize baby bottles. Within no time, a microwave was delivered directly to our room. It may seem like a small gesture, but for a traveling parent, it removed a huge layer of stress and showed a level of thoughtfulness that we will never forget. Paulina consistently checked on us throughout our stay, making sure our family was comfortable and cared for. We never had the opportunity to meet the General Manager, but if the leadership team is anything like Paulina, Dreams Jade is in very capable hands. Another employee who deserves recognition is Jesus. He should be a Hyatt UVC Personal Concierge to Make Every Vacation Better, they should hire Jesus immediately. Whether helping us find shade for our baby and service dog, checking on our family, or anticipating needs before we even voiced them, Jesus delivered service that went far beyond expectations. His energy never seemed to slow down, and he treated every guest with the same level of attention and care. We also want to recognize Alvo and Franscio, who were wonderful throughout our stay. Now for the honest feedback. As Hyatt UVC Preferred members, we were disappointed that the primary Preferred pool was adults only at a resort marketed as family-friendly. While we understand and appreciate exclusive member benefits, this created a situation where families with children had limited opportunities to enjoy Preferred amenities together. We also felt there could be more dedicated Preferred dining options beyond breakfast. The resort itself is a little older, but the grounds are impeccably maintained. The landscaping, restaurants, and public spaces were consistently clean and well cared for by a visibly hardworking staff. Housekeeping, however, was less consistent than other departments. That said, anytime we requested additional items through the app (robes, washcloths, or other necessities) they arrived incredibly quickly, often within 10 minutes. Room service was also fast, although requested delivery times and special instructions were not always followed. In the end, when we look back on this trip, what we will remember most is how this team made our family feel. Traveling with a baby, medical needs, food allergies, and a service dog can be overwhelming. Because of Paulina, Loraynne, Chef Gustavo and the culinary team and Jesus we were actually able to relax, breathe, and enjoy ourselves. The resort may not be perfect, but the people are extraordinary. And because of them, we left feeling exactly as their staff intended: Welcomed home. ❤️

DO NOT Get sick!!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The resort is beautiful, but not very kid friendly. There is only a small kids pool, the beach was full of seaweed so you couldn't enjoy the water. Whatever you DO NOT get sick, my son had a severe ear ache and we had to go to the resort doctor. He charged us $180 just to walk in, $50 to look inside my sons ear, $170 for medicine (that I later found in the resort shop for $25), the doctor then told me the charge would be $390 and proceeded to charged my card $437 twice, then he gave the wrong medicine and I ended up having to take my son to the doctor again once we got home. We tried to talk to the UVC and hotel staff to get help and was told basically that sucks there is nothing we can do about it.
