seaweed all the time; were not able to swim a single time in entire 7 days stay; overall it's a great resort; needs lot up upgrade (we had cockroaches in the room); great food at french restaurant but rude front desk staff.

We don´t have chairs at pool because before breakfast all chair are reserve. All days is the same and the hotel don´t take any mesure. Very bad this situation.

Is Tom Bodett running Hyatt Mexico now? Because someone clearly left the light on at this underwhelming resort, and forgot to bring the service, food, and hospitality with it. As a frequent global traveler, I chose Dreams Sapphire expecting a true all-inclusive experience backed by the Hyatt brand. What I received instead was one of the most disappointing resort stays in recent memory. Grounds: This was the only truly redeeming part of the resort. The landscaping is clean and well-maintained, offering peaceful paths and lush surroundings. Sadly, that’s where the positives end. Pool: Yes, the water is wet and cool. That’s about the only standard they meet. If you enjoy kids cannonballing urinated pool water into your cocktail, screaming across the swim-up bar, or sitting on the bar itself, you’ll love it here. Chaotic and poorly supervised. Most lounge chairs are "claimed" by 7:30 AM with towels that remain untouched for hours, neither guests nor staff make any effort to reset or refresh spaces for others. Food & Restaurants: The biggest letdown of the entire stay. One of the main draws of an all-inclusive is the dining, and Dreams Sapphire fails dramatically. Buffet food quality was on par with a middle school cafeteria: unripe fruit, watery nacho cheese, and desserts with the flavor profile of plain gelatin. Expect long lines and 60–90 minute waits just to get into the themed restaurants, with even longer waits for room service. Room: This was one of the few bright spots. Spacious, clean, and as-advertised. Housekeeping did an okay job of maintaining the room throughout our stay. However, turndown service was an infrequent occurrence, and one of the days the staff conveniently forgot to leave towels. Staff: Service is surface-level friendly, until you ask for anything remotely inconvenient. There’s a forced “my pleasure” through gritted teeth, and a noticeable lack of warmth or hospitality. One of many examples…One bartender refused a simple drink request, claiming they didn’t have the liquor, even though I could see it on the shelf behind them. Pointing it out earned me an eye roll and a bad attitude. That pretty much sums up the vibe. Value: We booked off-season at a discounted rate (around 30% off). Even at that price, the experience felt like a poor return. I can’t imagine paying full price and getting anything remotely close to a premium vacation experience. Bottom Line: If this is Hyatt’s idea of a “Dream,” it’s one I was desperate to wake up from. For anyone considering Dreams Sapphire: lower your expectations, or better yet, choose another resort.

Almost at end of first week. Never bothered to write a review before but felt the need. Sitting by beach with 3 diggers and truck trying and failing to clean beach of the sargassum which is overwhelming. Website states multiple pools. You have 1 main pool which is big but busy. Adults only pool IF you upgrade to preferred. Indigo roof pool which looks nice but is a further £000s again if you upgrade. So you generally have 1 pool. Very noisy pool with activities and music. Doesn’t bother me but not peaceful. The in pool loungers are a nice touch though as it is soo hot. No one sits on beach as the seaweed is very very bad. May sit there at some point to get a bit more peace. Locals say worst year yet and getting worse every year. It stinks a bit, especially as they are trying to clear. You can smell from everywhere as you do get used to it. Doesn’t bother again too much but takes the shine off what is meant to be a beautiful beach holiday. There is zero chance of swimming in sea anywhere along this coast. Some hotels further have barriers which help, not sure why this hotel doesn’t. As everyone is round the pool it is like sardines, and if you want a bed in shade you have to play the get up early -7am- and put your towel in n sunbed game. Again not what I come away for. Feels like cheap package holiday. The hotel rooms are tired. Indigo upgrade probably gives you nice rooms which is what the pics on website show. The staff are generally all lovely, helpful and smiling all the time so hats off to them. Really nice bunch of people. The food. Meh. It’s ok. Buffet resteraunt is ok but fairly limited. I am used to far better. You have to wait until 8ish to eat at the ala carte restaurants if you miss the first sitting. Not able to book either. Pool bar and beach bar shuts at 5!!! That just leaves the main bar which is a bit of a barn. Not giving Mexican holiday feel at all. We like knocking a few bevvys back after a day in the sun, but no decent place to do this really. On the whole I’m chilling and recharging but wishing I was somewhere else. It’s was aware of the negative reviews but chose to ignore. Live and learn. Would never return here, even for half the £11k I paid for 2 weeks. Hope this helps someone decide their next hols.
