After our 12th visit to Live Aqua Cancun, it’s hard to even call this a “vacation” anymore—this place has truly become our home away from home. Every time we return, we’re reminded why we keep coming back: the people, the attention to detail, and the genuine warmth that you simply cannot replicate. A very special and heartfelt thank you to our butlers, Maggie and Alan. They are, without question, a huge part of why our stays are so exceptional. Their attentiveness, kindness, and ability to anticipate every need before we even voice it is nothing short of remarkable. They go far beyond service—they create an experience that feels deeply personal, thoughtful, and effortless. It’s rare to find people who care this much, and we are incredibly grateful to call them not just butlers, but friends. We also want to recognize Eladio, who has also been part of our butler experience. He is always warm, attentive, and eager to help, and it never goes unnoticed. His presence adds another layer of care and consistency that we truly appreciate. The Pool Hut team, led by Flavio, continues to be outstanding. Flavio runs an exceptional team, and together with Damien, Maria, Alejandro, Lalo and so many other amazing people, they create an atmosphere that is both relaxed and elevated at the same time. Whether it’s making sure everything is perfectly set up or simply checking in with a smile, they make every pool day feel special. The poolside service is truly next level, and we must highlight a few incredible individuals. Aminael deserves a very special mention—he has become like family to us. His care, especially toward my older mother, is something we will never forget. He is attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure every moment is perfect. It’s rare to encounter someone who brings that level of heart into their work. Monica is equally wonderful—gracious, attentive, and always present with a warm smile that elevates the entire experience. And Jonathan, one of the pool servers, consistently delivers exceptional service with professionalism and ease, making every interaction seamless and enjoyable. In addition, we would like to recognize Jonathan Chaire, whose presence and leadership within the food and beverage team are clearly felt. He is always engaged, attentive, and committed to excellence, ensuring that every detail of the guest experience is elevated. His professionalism and genuine care stand out. The Aqua Club team also deserves special recognition. Starting every morning with David, who greets you with a big, genuine smile and somehow manages to make what truly feels like the best coffee on the planet, sets the tone for the entire day. That level of warmth and consistency is something we look forward to every single morning. And a very special thank you to Guillermo, whose espresso martinis are truly unmatched—crafted perfectly every time and always served with such great energy and attention. He is an essential part of what makes the Aqua Club experience so memorable. Breakfast each morning was made even better thanks to Jose, who consistently went above and beyond. His attentiveness, warmth, and genuine care set the tone for the day in the most wonderful way. The poolside culinary experience deserves recognition as well. Porfi delivers consistently excellent burgers—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and exactly what you crave by the pool. And Jose, who runs the grill, prepares chicken that is truly outstanding—juicy, flavorful, and clearly crafted with pride. Together, they make poolside dining something you genuinely look forward to each day. A truly exceptional part of what makes every return feel so special is the AquaLovers team, who have mastered the art of making guests feel not just welcomed, but genuinely known and valued. Morelia, who leads this program, is simply extraordinary. Her attention to detail is unmatched—she remembers preferences, anticipates needs, and ensures that every stay feels even more personalized than the last. There is a level of care and intentionality in what she does that goes far beyond hospitality—it feels heartfelt, authentic, and deeply meaningful. Aldo is equally remarkable. He is always present, always engaged, and always one step ahead—ready to assist with anything and everything with a level of enthusiasm and professionalism that never wavers. He doesn’t just help—he elevates the entire experience in a way that feels effortless yet incredibly impactful. And Graciel is an absolute joy. Warm, gracious, and consistently attentive, he brings a kindness and sincerity that you feel immediately. Every interaction with him leaves you feeling taken care of and appreciated. Together, this team doesn’t just recognize returning guests—they celebrate them. They create a sense of belonging that is incredibly rare to find, and it is a huge part of why Live Aqua continues to feel like home to us after 12 visits. The entertainment team adds yet another layer of energy and personality to the experience, and Ricky Ricardo truly stands out. His energy is infectious—he brings life to everything he touches, from aerobics to bingo to every activity in between. He doesn’t just lead activities, he creates an atmosphere of joy that you can feel throughout the entire resort. We would also like to recognize David Martinez, one of the standout leaders at the property. His presence is felt everywhere—engaged, attentive, and deeply committed to ensuring that every guest experience is seamless and exceptional. And finally, a truly unforgettable culinary experience at MB Restaurant. Chef Wilian is nothing short of extraordinary. He went above and beyond in every possible way, and the birthday dinner he hosted for us was simply phenomenal—beautifully curated, impeccably executed, and filled with thoughtful touches that made the evening incredibly special. His passion and creativity shine through in every detail. We also want to thank Frida, the hostess, for her warm welcome and gracious presence from the moment we arrived, and Rodolfo, the manager, whose leadership ensures that the entire dining experience runs flawlessly. Rohibi and Salvadore provided top of the notch service. Together, they create something truly exceptional. And at the very top of it all is the master magician, Alfredo Santa Maria. The consistency, excellence, and soul of this entire experience are a direct reflection of his leadership. What he has created is not just a luxury resort—it is something far more rare: a place that feels alive, personal, and deeply human. Every detail, every interaction, every moment of care carries his signature. He doesn’t just lead a team—he orchestrates an experience. And it shows, in every single moment. What makes Live Aqua so special isn’t just the beautiful property or the amenities—it’s the people. It’s the consistency. It’s the feeling that you are genuinely cared for and remembered. We are already looking forward to our 13th visit!!

Let's start off with a WOW, what an experience! This is an adults only property that is extremely well maintained with great restaurants, a spa, and an AMAZING staff with plenty of low key and higher energy activities. We've been here twice now and have found our home in Cancun. We used to try different resorts or even different cites but now have now started a tradition and plan to come back here every year. This is a destination vacation for us, meaning that we come here to be at the resort only, not to go out to see the sights. We stay at the resort and enjoy the amenities. First, the room. We stayed in suites both times and absolutely recommend doing so if you are able. Last time was the Fuego Suite, which was amazing, and this time we were in an Aqua Suite on the second floor. WE took a video but can only upload pictures, but it's a large room with a separate living area and bedroom with a wet bar and two different sliding doors to the balcony. The room is great and the view is also. You have access to the Aqua Club on the fifth floor and the rooms are just beautiful. We had one minor issue with our room while we were there and it was resolved immediately. There is turn-down service in the evening, but that's for all rooms I suspect. The hot tub in the room is a big win and the balcony for the Aqua suite is not only huge but has a table and chairs as well as two lunge chairs with a table. I cannot talk about the room without mentioning the butler service. Both of these suites, and I believe all suites, come with a butler team. We were assigned two butlers who work together and they were amazing. We had Maggie and Carlos, who did an amazing job of making sure we had a great stay. Carlos was one of our butlers last year and we requested him again, and will request both Maggie and Carlos again when we book for next year. But, they do EVERYTHING to make sure that the stay is worry free. We had special requests for drink types and snack types in our room and we were accommodated immediately, and then for the remainder of our stay we never had to ask again, they were just there. They will make dinner reservations for you, which are NOT available to all guests, but only those with the butlers. But they pass on special requests for meals if you have them so things are ready when you arrive. They checked in on us by text (WhatsApp) every morning and stopped by our cabana at least once per day to see if we needed anything. Keep in mind that these are not waiters, or room service, or anything like that. They are there for anything above and beyond. We made our spa appointments through them simply by telling them what service and what day and time, and they arranged everything. If we had any issue at all, they resolved it. They made our Cabana reservations for us. Absolutely great service all the way around, and Maggie and Carlos were outstanding. The pool and beach area - we are pool people on these trips, not beach people. The beach was beautiful and is white sand with very little to no seaweed in February, so that was nice. They do have lifeguards and cabanas on the beach if you want one. We chose the pool, and we always got a cabana. The cabana was included in our room type, so we didn't have to pay extra but they are not included in every room type. You can rent them if they are available and we recommend renting a cabana. They do have chairs, which are first come/first serve, which is what you get at many resorts and the mad rush to get down to the pool early and grab chairs. Skip the chaos and get the cabana. It's yours for the day and you don't have to worry about having a place to sit or lie down. The cabana experience begins when you go to the towel shed to get your towels and check in for your cabana. The staff there is also who will take your reservations if you forget to make them with your butler or don't have the butler. Lalo and Demian are who we dealt with the most, and while this was only our second visit to this resort, they convinced us that they remembered us from our first visit the year before. We were certainly on a first name basis by the end of this stay, and they always took great care of us when they saw us - we didn't have to give them any additional information when we stepped up to the counter, they just remembered us and knew which cabana we were in. Pretty impressive for a resort this large. Once we were checked in, they passed the baton to one of the other cabana and pool attendants who brought us to our cabana, set up towels like sheets with additional towels for drying off , and made sure the curtains were either tied back or blocking the sun based on what we needed. Miguel or Eduardo were typically the ones who did that for us, and they were also great. The pool experience wouldn't be complete without the pool waiter for our area, Jonathon. When we would get there he would bring a bucket with ice and bottles of cold water, and then take our drink orders for the whole day. He was absolutely great and helped make the pool experience seamless and easy. You can of course go up to the bar and get your won drinks, but why? :) The pools were all different temperatures, with the infinity pool being the coolest and the round pool near the bar being the warmest, aside from the jacuzzi, which war right in from of our cabana. While the infinity pool could be a little chilly, it depended on the day. The infinity pool is where they sometimes do water aerobics in the morning, but they also do those in the long pool sometimes. They do an afternoon activity in the long pool, usually a trivia type game but they were always fun to watch. They are participation sports, so if you want to play and are loud, they will incorporate you into their game. We weren't into the water activities as anything other than spectators, but they also have tequila tasting and other food related activities. We did the salsa tasting and the guacamole class, both hosted by Marianna, who was full of energy and engaging - she did a great job and was fun to have as an instructor/host. The salsa and guac was amazing also. They had a chef there with her to assist. The food - also amazing. We preferred some restaurants over others, but that is such a subjective thing that we're not going to say that any of them were bad. We've eaten at all of them and have eaten at all but two more than one time. However if you go to MB, be sure to try the Habanero soup - it isn't hot but has amazing flavor in a bread bowl! We did have one small issue at one restaurant, that they offered to fix immediately, but we were work out and did not want to wait. In the 30 seconds it took us to politely decline and get up to leave, they had a manager over who apologized and offered us to return the next night for a specially prepared meal. Considering that our issue was fairly minor and they offered to fix it but we were just tired that night, this was over the top customer service. We at first declined but then decided that we would accept the offer (we were going to go back anyhow), and the next meal was amazing, with not only attention to detail, but also personal attention from the chef, manager, and other staff. Room service is 24 hours with a pretty good menu (try the creme brulee!) and really the best way to do breakfast. The service is good and the food is excellent. Lunch is available at some restaurants, but they have a souple of stations near the pool with fresh food - the burger/hot dog and nacho stand, and the grill with ribs, chicken chorizo, and salads. They also had either seafood paella or tacos every day at two. All of these were great, and I wish I remembered the names of the grill master and the hamburger chef - both were great! We did also have a concierge while we were there who also checked in on us, Carlos, and that was nice to have but our interaction with him was limited. Still a positive. What else can I say? This was a great vacation and we are going back next year. While the property and food is amazing, it was the staff that made it truly an overall great experience, and the staff I named above are the standouts. We look forward to seeing them again next year!
