Amazing getaway! Beautiful resort. Comfortable accommodation with everything you need for a great stay. Loved the restaurants and food. Good selection of food and drinks. The staff is by far the best! Kind, courteous and knowledgeable. We love the Royal Cancun.

Relaxing Vacation, but not for foodies!

The place is great. The food and beverages not so great! Wait staff works very hard but there is not enough. They have all inclusive but very limited in restaurants and lots of up charges on menu and drinks. Offer to go to sands as part of all inclusive but limited shuttle services! Food is not very good and often comes out cold! It really is a shame because the staff is exceptional and location is beautiful!

The other family of 5 in a group of 10. We had a great time. Pretty much sat together for every meal without issue. Only managed to get into the Italian restaurant once and it was good and large portions. The buffet was smaller but I found above average quality, loved the breakfast. You can order off the menu as well as buffet. 24 hour room service but menu changes after 10pm and becomes small but still nice to have late night snacks. The market for booze was very similar to Walmart so don’t waste a trip just for booze, charge it as they are cashless. Cannot get a drink between 10pm and 11am. Front desk and reservation team were great, Rosita (manager) I think and Diego (reservations) helped us out of a jam that the system caused. We wanted to upgrade to a two bathroom C villa and ended up in the back corner on the road/parking lot. I’m not sure why reservations can not see what room they are reserving. They were able to get our ocean front room back with no Saturday move. Yes if you are not Sunday to Saturday, expect a move. They will move you and pull your clothes from the closet if you want them to. Cleanest resort I have ever been to for sure and we have been to five star resorts. Both pools are quiet which is odd, most have one quiet and one loud. No real entertainment, water volleyball took priority over beach volleyball. We had six teenagers in our group and managed to stay entertained most of the week. The shuttle was nice to the Sands. We hit up the Caribbean night while we were there. It was a standard show and food. Sands was a lot bigger and more party feel on the big pool side. Final score of the trip was a perfect 4 star and almost 4.5. Just need one more restaurant, maybe a better gym and a beach massage. We had a really great family trip and would come back for sure.

Nice vacation if you’re on a budget but the drinks aren’t great and the food is awful. The wait staff inside the restaurant isn’t great and pretty slow but the pool/beach servers are wonderful and the cleaning crew are also wonderful and very friendly

We’ve been to Mexico many times and always stay at a different resort, but I have to say – this is one of the cleanest resorts we’ve ever stayed at. The entire property is pristine. Everything from the rooms to the common areas is spotless, and it’s clear the staff takes a lot of pride in maintaining the grounds. The food was good, though there’s only one buffet and one à la carte restaurant on-site. Still, we always found something we enjoyed, and it worked well for our group of 10. Speaking of which, we never had trouble finding chairs at either the pool or the beach — a rare and welcome surprise when traveling with a large group! Service across the board was solid, and we appreciated the included shuttle to their sister resort, The Sands, for a day. That resort had a more upbeat vibe, with music and more energy — a nice contrast to the Royal Cancun, which is definitely quieter. There’s no music around the pool and everything shuts down around 10pm, so don’t expect nightlife or evening entertainment. That said, it’s a great choice for families. The room layout is ideal for groups — lots of space to hang out after things close for the night. We traveled with friends, and all of our kids are over 16. It did get a little boring for them at times with no shows or entertainment options, but they brought games and we made our own fun in the big suites. If you’re looking for a clean, relaxed, family-friendly resort where you can spend quality time together, this is a great pick. Just don’t come expecting nightlife or activities — it’s more of a chill, early-to-bed kind of place.
