Excellent Return Trip

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We recently returned from an eight-night stay at Stolen Time. It was our second trip to the resort, the first time seven years ago, when it was called Rendezvous. We could not see any major differences from the rebrand – we loved it then and again this year. The food, service and level of activities were all excellent. Room We stayed in a Veranda Suite King room on the first floor. This is a very spacious room, with two wardrobes for storage, a desk, a lounge chair, and a mini fridge stocked with fresh water. The bath area has a large soaking tub and a separate shower stall. The suite has European outlets and current, with the only 110-volt outlet in the bath area. There were a few of the larger USB outlets by the desk. The lighting throughout the suite could be improved with brighter bulbs. The large veranda features a daybed, along with two comfortable chairs and a small table. Dining The dining in the resort was very good. The main dining area is the Terrance Restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfasts and lunches are served buffet style, with made-to-order eggs, omelets, pancakes and waffles available at breakfast. At lunchtime, made-to-order items include wrap sandwiches and a fish or meat item. The salad bar at lunch included many items and dressing choices. Dinnertime at the Terrace alternated between buffet and ala carte dining. The buffet was on Sundays (Mediterranean themed), Wednesdays (West Indies themed) and Fridays (Beach BBQ). The ala carte menu on the other nights featured a daily catch of the day. An afternoon tea is offered at 4:00 PM daily on the Terrace. There are two other restaurants on site. The Malabar Beach Restaurant sits right on the beach and is open for lunch and dinner. Reservations are required for dinner. We had two dinners and two lunches here. Fresh seafood is featured here, although my wife had a Bistro Steak one night and said it was very good. I had a hamburger for lunch one day and it was excellent. A nice variety of sandwiches and panini sandwiches were also available for lunch. The second restaurant, Thyme (formerly called The Trysting Place), is open for dinner only and reservations are required. We did not have the opportunity to eat here. We did experience a private candlelight dinner in the beach gazebo one night, which was excellent. We were able to choose our appetizers, entrees and desserts from a fixed menu. We had a dedicated server, who timed the delivery of our courses perfectly and kept our drink glasses filled, otherwise she was away from the gazebo. Activities There are so many daily activities the resort, starting at 7:00 or 8:00 AM – archery lessons and competition, golf lessons, tennis, pickleball, basket weaving, make-your-own tie-dye shirts, organized walks, runs & bicycle trips, cooking demonstrations, sailing rides and lessons, tube riding, yoga, water aerobics, fitness classes and jewelry making – I am probably missing some others. The instructors and demonstrators were all excellent and had great personalities. Staff All of the service at the resort was exceptional. Housekeeping was provided twice a day, including evening turn-down service. The housekeeper for our suite was able to fulfill our few specific requests. The restaurant and bar servers, bartenders, groundkeepers and activities staff were all very friendly. We recognized some of the staff from our visit seven years ago. Entertainment Entertainment is offered each night at 9:00 PM. It consisted of two live bands, three solo singers and a couple of DJs. The live bands were only so-so, while two of the solo singers (using prerecorded backing music) were excellent. Attendance during the evening entertainment was sparse, never exceeding 30 or so guests. A few days offered entertainment during dinner at 7:30 and during afternoon tea. These entertainers were overall very good. Transportation between the airport and resort We pre-arranged round trip taxi transportation between the airport and the resort with Marc’s Taxi (freezerjeanba@gmail.com / +1 758-721-6469). We had Kendy as our driver both ways and he was excellent. He was waiting at the airport when we arrived with a sign with our names on the sign. The ride to the resort is about 75-90 minutes, depending on traffic. For our return trip, he was waiting at the resort at the specified pick-up time. It was pleasure to speak with him about the island on the trips. The cost was about $90 USD each way. One way to speed the arrival process is to complete the online St. Lucia Customs and Immigration form (https://travelslu.govt.lc/) prior to arriving in St. Lucia. It can be completed within 72 hours of arrival in St. Lucia and will speed up the entry process at the airport.

Beautiful hotel with pros and cons

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Our review is based on an 11 night stay in a Signature beachfront suite in February 2026. Great points : The accommodation was spacious, very clean and made the perfect home for our stay. Similarly the hotel and grounds are well maintained, stocked and clean. The range of activities was great and you’re made welcome to join in, even if you’re joining solo. The activities team were well trained, adapted their programme to the group and were inclusive and friendly. Lazy river was quiet, beautifully set and the pool bar lady delivered excellent service and regularly attended the lazy river sunbeds ensuring we were well looked after. We had some great meals, the Malabar restaurant, beach BBQ and themed buffet evenings were great, as was the 7pm inclusive Champagne bar. There were lots of multiple returners (some had returned 18 times). Most of the returners were super friendly and offered helpful suggestions. Not so great: On the multiple returners: Some were very excluding and it also meant that the clientele can be older. A couple of the F&B staff in the main Terrace restaurant were very rude and we had to make a complaint. Thereafter this improved. The biggest negative was the day passes issued to cruise ship passengers. This is a small resort and the number of passengers dramatically reduced the quality of the resort in terms of sun bed and food availability. There was one Sunday evening (15 Feb) when most dishes at the buffet had run out by 7.40 pm and the only meat option was a made to order pasta dish. Our suite had an allocated beach sunbed which was rarely available. Although we were advised we could move people off the beds - that’s not something you want to have to do on holiday. We had multiple spa treatments pre booked - they were fine but not of a high standard.

Just about perfect

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Have been to stolen time a few times and to it's sister hotel many more times. I think that the hotel keeps getting better. The rooms are nice - this is the Caribbean so not super swanky (if you wnat that, go to Dubai!) The gardens and beach are beautiful, the food and drinks are great and the staff are friendly. There is enough activities to keep one going all day - Edwin and Tai Chi not to be missed. What really impressed me this time was the quality of the tuition - the specialist Yoga/pilates and tennis were really good. I suppose that the hotel is best for the slightly older generation - Body Holiday would suit younger, but for me Stolen Time is now the best choice.
