Secrets Aura Cozumel

We had a fantastic stay at Secrets Aura Cozumel! The number of food/dining options could be expanded slightly, but giving the staff extreme kudos for the overall customer service experience. Bordeaux was our favorite eatery, which we visited several times, not only for the tasty grub but to see our delightful server Yuriana! She is the best. Shout out to Kenia, Market Cafe hostess extraordinare, who always knew our names .....and Preferred Club bartender, Angel, for mixing up some of the best drinks this side of the Caribbean. Also, Diana from Veracruz, the first face we encountered at Bordeaux, always passing along positive energy and a genuine smile. The beach here in this part of Cozumel was clean, beautiful and perfect for snorkeling. We'll be back for another visit to Secrets Aura Cozumel!

Had a great stay! The service at most of the restaurants & from the concierge was excellent--super friendly & helpful. Our room was very clean with a modern bathroom & an extremely comfortable bed. We enjoyed snorkeling off the beach in front of our room & saw stingrays, starfish, a cuttlefish, and several other colored fish. We did feel there was a lot of boat traffic at times or jet skis from Paradise Beach just down from us that we had to watch out for when we snorkeled. However, the traffic died down after 4. A couple of downsides: the pool bars closed too early and, after 5 PM, there weren't any beach-casual dining options (other than room service), which would've been nice for a more relaxed evening vibe near the beach. Overall, a great experience & we'd definitely come back :)

Just a pleasant warm atmosphere from the moment we arrive until we left. Definitely a place we will return to in the future. Preferred pool was great, pool bar was awesome. Beach area was clean and safe. Overall great experience. Would recommend it to any couple looking to get away and have a relaxing stay.

Rooms and housekeeping not as clean as I would expect from a Secrets resort. Floors were dirty even though the housekeeping staff carried brooms and dustpans on their carts, our floors did not appear to be swept out the whole time we were there. Pillows smelled of mildew. Bathroom sink drain smelled of sewage. Beds were not made with clean sheets unless you specifically asked. Not very dilligent on restocking mini bars. Not alot of variety of cuisines unless you happen to catch a night when a buffet was offered and even then, the food was "leftovers" quality. Breakfast buffets were the best part, lots of choices, good quality. Swimming pools were not kept very clean, found hair floating in 3 different pools. Pool side wait staff were very attentive and friendly. Spa experience was very luxurious but very costly.

This is an older resort which was just taken over by Hyatt so unlike other Secrets resorts this one is not as nice. I understand they have plans to renovate once the Dreams resort next door is finished. The room was your typical room, nothing special. I read reviews that said the AC didn’t work but ours worked just fine. The beach is rocky which made getting in the water a challenge. The food was ADEQUATE at best so that’s what made the review a 3. One final word, don’t waste your money on a Preferred Club upgrade, not worth it. Nothing special about the club and everyone can access the preferred club beach. Given the food quality, rocky beach, and age of the resort we probably won’t be back.
