Reviews for Secrets Aura Cozumel

The staff were great, the pressured sales while there was horrible!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Do not sign up for VIP experience, they don't check you in until the try to pressure you to do the unlimited vacation club sales tour. It was a horrible experience. We are still disputing $700 charged on our credit card for excursions they said we're free!

Great stay!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We have been to this resort many times. (Probably 30) It has become "Our Place". The food is good, the staff is polite and friendly, and the diving is wonderful. We were disappointed to see that Dive House had taken the place of Dive Palencar. If you walk past Dreams and walk down a path through the woods, you'll see that Dive Palencar has a shop set up there. They will pick you up at the Secrets pier. The divemasters are great to dive with and Louis is a pleasure to set up your diving with. Just a couple of low points: There used to be a lot of great chairs with cushions on the beach for the preferred guests. Now, they have been replaced with uncomfortable chairs and if you don't get up at 6:30 and go save one, you might not get one at all. It seems like simple math to me: a certain number of guests-a certain number of chairs. We stay in room 124 and are returning for 2 weeks in October. I hope that the large sliding doors have glass in them that you can see through by the time we get back. After all, it's all about the view!!! Also, the hot water was inconsistent. One day you might have it, the next day you might not. Not befitting of a 5-star resort. With that said, we love this place!! Special shout out to Geidy!!! She is the best!!!

Fantastic stay at this resort. Very confortable, the food was so good & all the facilities & activities are awesome. Rosana, Kenia, Mario, Elizabeth, Albertos, Gaspar & Ricardo from the Market Café treated me like a King, awesome service. Also Luis, Israel & Alejandro from Bordeaux, Marcel from Gohan, Carlos from the bar. Very friendly, always smiling. Thé staff is just the best I had so far.

First Time to Cozumel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Beautiful resort, our first time to Cozumel. Secrets Aura was recommended. Once we got past the time share push we were able to enjoy our vacation. We chose the Adults only resort to celebrate as my birthday was on St. Patricks Day. The staff are very hard working and always friendly. The down fall was we told we were able to go to te other resorts but others were not to come to ours. There is signage that even indicates this. Other resorts have bands to identify who belongs to what resort. Because of this we had to fight for a spot both on the ocean and the pool as it was prime real estate compared to the other resorts. There also were teenagers able to obtain drinks that they likey would not have if there parents knew where they were hanging out. If you are paying for something and others are able to freely obtian the same experiences , we felt it could be better managed. More to the good things, the Sky Bar views were amazing we calcualted when the sun would set each night and it didnt disappoint. The entertainment was wonderful. An added bonus was the Gohan restaurant which treated us very well. A special shout out the Captain : Clara Quijano , Hostess: Marcel, Chef: Alan,Sushera: Gloria and Carlos,Servers: Dolores,Rodrigo and Roberto. We were not diappointed with any meals and the servers around the pool were very attentive. We were about to enjoy a snorkelling experince that was arranged by the West Jet representative he reccomended the best day and he didnt disappoint. Something to check before you come to a resort is that your travel from Airport to resort may not be included. Your Air line rep can guide you. The island was beautiful and the folks really take pride in it.

Oceans great- room and resort are horrible and need a lot of renovation. Not enough staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

So much to say. This place needs to be completely renovated! Amenities like spa and most restaurants are not at this resort, have to walk down to 2 other resorts for them. Here are a couple of restaurants on the property, sometime ok, leaves a bit of be desired. I can't express how bad the room was. So will let the pictures say it all- pillows are horrifying- fel like bags of hard pieces of foam. Only thing good are the pools and the ocean of course! N needs landscaping, weeding people to skim pools, clean walks, etc. HELP NEEDED HERE!

Truly a five star place - the resort never seemed crowded and maintained a quiet vibe. The food was outstanding at every meal. I would recommend this resort to anyone at any time without blinking. We will definitely return to this resort.
