Dreams Dominicus La Romana

The Secrets La Romana is a fantastic hotel. Everything we could want and more. We visited this hotel twice before when it was managed under another brand and it is still as great, if not better, than before. Paola in reservations was exceptionally helpful to make sure our vacation was outstanding

We had the absolute pleasure of having Victor as our butler during our stay at Secrets Resorts, and he truly made our trip unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, Victor was attentive, responsive, and always one step ahead of our needs. He went out of his way to make sure every detail was perfect, whether it was arranging special touches in our room, making dining reservations, or checking in to ensure we were enjoying our stay. What stood out most was how genuine and warm he was — not just providing excellent service, but truly caring about our experience. His professionalism and kindness made us feel valued and completely taken care of. We can’t thank Victor enough for making our vacation so special, and we hope to see him again on our next visit!

Amazing experience. Dreams La Romana is an amazing resort with great food, beautiful beaches and wonderful entertainment. I appreciate my time here so much and hope to be back with my whole family.

We had an absolute amazing experience at Secrets La Romana! Vixtor was our butler and was amazing as well! He was very friendly and always went the extra mile! We loved our special pineapple drinks! We will be back one day and will request Victor!

We travel to this resort at least once a year but rarely travel in the summer due to the intense heat but this year we spent 14 nights at the resort in July into beginning of August. There are lots of bees around the bar and you do need to look out for them on the floor around the pool area, my husband was stung getting out of the pool by standing in one, other than this it wasn’t too bad we just didn’t spend long at the bar after ordering drinks, but it’s a terrible environment for the staff as they were constantly being stung. We stayed in a preferred club 2 room and 1 1/2 bathroom suite in block 2 with a sea view, although this is through the trees. The resort overall was tidy but the preferred pool area needs some TLC. The sun beds are missing cushions and the majority of the cushions that are on the beds have been repaired. No one cleans up around the pool at night so there can be rubbish left around in the mornings first thing, this gets cleaned eventually. Pool waitress service was good although being served a mimosa in a plastic beaker isn’t exceptable, once this was pointed out it didn’t happen again. We found the adult preferred pool bartenders lazy and often had to wait to be served even though we were the only customers and the drinks were never the same, they use very cheap alcohol unless you are specific about what you want in your drink. Olga was the only one who provided a consistent service. One day Reynuldo P covered the adults preferred bar and he brought some fun to the bar and was excellent such a shame he was never on the bar again. There was checks made most days on new arrivals to the Adults Preferred Pool which I was happy to see. All meals this year were very tasty and I would have paid for all of them in a restaurant except the Italian(Dreams resort) and the Coastal Grill(again Dreams). We were able to try the new Asian fusion menu at Noor on our last night which was lovely and we met the chef who had designed the menu, great improvement in the previous menu. The Adults preferred lounge was a cool haven in the intense heat with quality alcohol and excellent cocktails prepared by Wonder. This is a resort we have been visiting for 16 years and have always been made to feel special and part of the family, we are visiting again next year and look forward to seeing everyone again and the changes that will improve an already great resort. Special thanks to Vanessa for organising our room, Yoel our butler who provided a friendly service for us, Blanca head of butlers, Marcia and Viaury preferred lounge concierge, Wonder preferred lounge evening bar tender, Fransico waiter in Moustache, Kensia in Mare restaurant for breakfast lunch, service with a smile, along with Heidi and William who checked us into the restaurant every morning. Messiah took great care of us at Mare for dinner along with Mikai restaurant supervisor. Lastly thanks to Yuan manager for the adult restaurants, he always stopped to say hello and check all was okay with our meals. This is a lovely resort and has recently swopped to the Secrets chain, so hopefully quality and service will continue at a high standard and improve in the areas where it is needed.
