As you make your way to Dreams Dominicus La Romana, a blanket of blue comes into focus as you approach this seaside sanctuary. This is paradise, Dominican Republic style, where families and couples can reacquaint and singles can mingle with like-minded guests. The collection of rooms and suites, with canopied beds draped in luxe fabrics and beverage refrigerators stocked with a stash of complimentary drinks, are capsules of luxury. But it is the resort's signature Unlimited-Luxury®, program, a concept where just about everything is included, that truly dazzles even the most seasoned resort aficionados. Food and beverages, activities and recreational equipment, entertainment and clubs for kids and teens are all included in your stay.

Best server was Johanna Napoleon!!! She made our stay so much better! Wish they had better options for lunch. We spent a lot of time at the Dreams resort. Food was much better. Gotta try the Hibachi!

Not bad at all - staff are mostly lovely and we pretty much had a great couple of weeks. Might as well focus on what you could do better though, eh? Top of the list by a MILLION miles is please shut the damn Muzak up for a while! It just goes on and on and on, inescapably, from speakers that almost seem to follow you around! We don't need that mindless, licence-free noise in our heads all day long. If people want music instead of the sounds of waves lapping on a beautiful Carribbean beach, they can put their earbuds in! The only other improvement I can suggest is somehow protecting the "preferred" facilities from chancers trying their luck - it leaves a sour taste in the mouth if you've paid extra and you see others sneaking in for free. Otherwise just ditch the concept altogether. If there weren't so many other nice places to see, I'd come back (if you kill the Muzak!).

We stayed at Secrets (Adults Only) from October 20th–28th, during Hurricane Melissa. While the storm certainly affected the overall atmosphere, it wasn’t the main reason our experience fell short of expectations. The service across the resort was very mixed. At some restaurants, especially Mare, where the service was extremely poor. The wait staff seemed untrained, inattentive, and at times even rude. On the other hand, Chinola had a wonderful team who were friendly, attentive, and made dining there a pleasant experience. The food overall was subpar at the least. It felt very “mass produced”. Most dishes were bland and lukewarm, and both of us ended up with mild stomach issues during the stay. Hygiene standards could definitely be improved, we sorted a dead cockroach in the corridor to the rooms and would wake up to like and empty glasses around the pool/ jacuzzi area that had not been cleared yet. The resort atmosphere gave off a “take it or leave it” vibe rather than being guest-focused. The adults-only pool area could have been relaxing, but the music was far too loud and we were frequently interrupted by staff promoting events and offers, which became intrusive. After months of anticipation and a busy work period, we were really hoping for a peaceful, rejuvenating experience but unfortunately, this turned out to be one of our least enjoyable resort stays. We also used the resort’s recommended airport transfer service, Amstar, and that experience was equally disappointing. It took over an hour and a half to secure our vehicle, and we were charged $176, an excessive amount for the poor level of service provided. We expected better oversight from the hotel when recommending partners to guests. By the end of our stay, we found ourselves dining mostly in the Preferred Lounge, as it was quieter and the food quality was slightly better compared to the rest of the resort. Overall, we’re surprised by the overwhelmingly positive reviews. While there were a few bright spots like the staff at Chinola, the inconsistent service, lackluster food, and poor organisation left us feeling disappointed.
