Pool bar team at the preferred club pool were amazing always smiling and happy Special mention for Olga & Raul who went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly what you would expect from a place like this

Nice hotel, the entertainment was very boring, probably the worst we have encountered, the restaurants were quite good, but after eating not much going on. The service was very good at the pool side Amairy was excellent at keeping everyone supplied with drinks. Would we come back? Probably not

Staying at secrets La Romana was a wonderful vacation. Our Butler Victor took wonderful care of us at the preferred club pool Wendy our waitress was fantastic. Every morning we had coffee at the aroma Café where Natalie was wonderful. Highly recommend going over to the dream side for the Peruvian restaurant! We will return to this resort

Went with my sister and we enjoyed everything about this resort. Amstar transfer to and from Punta Cana was about an hour. We had a room on the Secrets side but access to Dreams as well. The resort has a huge footprint so lots of walking which we loved about it. Find the secret wooded path on the Dreams side, you won’t be sorry. - Food and restaurants were great (she has severe nut allergies so didn’t try the Indian or Pan Asian) but LOVED Chinola and Mare. Chinola has such a cool vibe, Mare was impeccable seafood. The buffet had much to offer and specialty items each meal. Was so nice that most of the buffet food was served by staff behind glass barriers, even the food serving area was enclosed. - Beaches and Pools..Loved Loved them. Lots of shaded areas, nice depth in the pool and water so you could actually swim. Sunsets were amazing. Water sports are available no charge (snorkel equipment, kayaks, paddle board, paddle boat) or you can snorkel, scuba, or use a hobie cat sailboat with the onsite company for minimal charge - Activities – The Entertainment team works SOOO hard. Shout out specifically to Yulianna who is a knowledgeable yogi. Beba, Yeifran, Armando, and Pablo were friendly, energetic, and professional. Activity Coordinator Mary B was wonderful. Something going on almost every hour between the two resorts. Nightly shows on the Dreams side and get live music many nights in the Secrets lobby. (Nothing like solo sax echoing through a lobby while you have an evening cocktail) - Off Site Excursion, arranged through concierge instead of guided tours. DID walk the beach to Bayahibe village (easy walk…took us 25 minutes max. Concierge arranged a driver for us for two off site excursions that I definitely recommend if you want to experience some of the culture of the area. $75 taxi fee and driver stayed there for us Went to Altos De Chavon ($7 per person entrance fee, had the place to ourselves) and saw the basilica in Higuey. Ended up with the same taxi driver each day and he looked out for us. 1st day took us to a chocolate factory on our way back…. In Higuey he had a tour guide waiting for us if we wanted to use him, no pressure, but was nice to have the option. We did his tour…$35 total for the basilica and walk to the old church. I don’t mind supporting the locals. - AND THE PEOPLE ARE SO NICE…THERE IS A GESTURE USED AT THE RESORT WHERE STAFF TAPS THEIR HEART WHEN THEY GREAT YOU… “OUR HEART WELCOMES YOUR HEART”. CREATED SUCH A BEAUTIFUL VIBE THROUGHOUT THE WEEK TO SHARE THE GESTURE BACK. Cons - Except for limited nonstop flights to Punta Cana from Chicago in the off season…NONE. On my list to return for sure.
