Disappointed at Secrets Wild Orchid – All Style, No Soul I came to Secrets Wild Orchid in Montego Bay with high hopes, expecting the luxury, service, and hospitality Jamaica is known for. What I got instead was a frustrating, underwhelming experience dressed up in nice decor. Let’s talk about the concierge, or as I like to call them, “people sitting at a desk doing absolutely nothing helpful.” The definition of a concierge is someone who assists guests with reservations, plans activities, and ensures a smooth stay. At this resort, that role is completely lost. We were told to go through them to book a hibachi table — but not once did they do it. We ended up walking around trying to figure it out ourselves, getting different answers from every person we asked. It felt more like a choose-your-own-adventure book than a luxury vacation. Then came the bartenders, and sadly, that was no better. I asked about mojito flavors — and not one bartender could actually tell me what they had. Instead, they’d ask what I wanted, and the second I told them, they’d say, “We don’t have that.” This repeated so many times I stopped asking. But what really stung was the lack of energy or warmth — hardly a smile, barely a welcome. That’s not the Jamaica I know and love. Jamaica is famous for that “welcome home, good vibes, one love” spirit. Here, I felt more like a burden than a guest. And just to top it off — I had a small issue at Oceana Grill, where I wasn’t allowed to take a pineapple from the restaurant to my lounge chair. Mind you, this was an adults-only resort, and my chair was about 27 feet away. The lack of flexibility and unnecessary rules just added to the feeling that hospitality was not the priority here. Secrets Wild Orchid has the look of a five-star resort, but the heart, soul, and service simply aren’t there. It was a beautiful setting with a frustrating atmosphere — and sadly, that’s not the kind of memory I wanted to take home from Jamaica.

Secrets Wild Orchid was a brilliant hotel and met all our needs. This trip was special as we got engaged. Everything was planned out beautifully and the hotel staff made sure all my expectations were met on the day. I would definitely recommend Secrets Wild Orchid to anyone! Thankyou Secrets for a great stay!

Beautiful Island,. Horrible experience at the secret resort. Room had mold in restrooms and showers. No ice machines, you had to wait an hour to recieve ice. Only 3 restaurants open per night and other folks come from near by locations Breathless to eat at Secret resort. Snappy and fustrated staff members had attitudes unless you had a few dollars visible whrn making requests. This resort is far from Iberostar! Standards

The friendliest staff ever. Room was clean. Food was decent but better than other all-inclusives I have been to. And the drinks were much better than other resorts!

Booked through Expedia, we chose ocean view with two double beds. When I got my confirmation email, I had a king preferred suite with one king bed. I placed 5 calls before check in date and I was told they would let me know if someone cancels. Get to the resort the lobby AC was not working in July. Several onsite dining options were without AC as well. I was totally uncomfortable. I would not recommend this resort it is not worth the money. Room had a stench smell. Constantly haggled by staff for product pitches. A huge turnoff. First time in Jamaica and it’s not a pleasant experience.
