Sandals Ochi

We went away with another couple we have known for more than 50 years. We booked Montego Bay in 2024 but after the hurricane we switched to Sandals Ochi. We needed rooms that had walk-in showers-my husband has knee and hip replacements. They said the villas were available. They are across a road from the hotel and we asked how we get across for meals, beach etc. The reservations people said we were in Butler rooms and the Butler would take us in a golf cart whenever we wanted to go. Easy. What they don’t tell you is that the golf cart does not cross the road-the golf cart takes you to a waiting area where a small bus has to pick you up and take you. We are in our late 70-s with some mobility issues-waiting for a bus on the street every time we need to get to the pools and beach is difficult. Also time consuming. Remember too, they will promise you will be with your friends but then may put them in another villa. We asked for new rooms in the main hotel but none of their rooms have showers, they are all tub-showers. We stayed in the lobby for hours , then they put us in small rooms that night and they said they would send us to Dunn’s River the next day. We weren’t bused over to Dunn’s River until late afternoon. We lost two days of our six-day vacation. I left a jacket in the lobby or the restaurant and asked for lost and found the night I saw it was missing and the next day and I never got it back. We really never unpacked to see the pool, the grounds.

The room was great. Having a semi-private pool was awesome. I the beach was beautiful and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Patrice from the entertainment team was especially wonderful.

Sitting at the airport having enjoyed a wonderful ten days at Ochi. Having stayed there three years ago we can really see the development with upgrading suites and the addition of food carts. We will certainly return… Massive shout outs to Nardia and Dwight who looked after us so well. G-Pat from the Spa was so attentive, helping provide specialist skin creams to try at no extra cost. Omar at the Southern Table for breakfast, Kayan, Double Trouble (Romario one and two) and Little T on the entertainments team…the list could go on and on. The returning guests evening at the start of our holiday was a lovely occasion, with outstanding surf and turf to eat. The opportunity to visit Dunn’s River resort was also a welcome addition, enjoying dinner and the evening show. There are people who dislike this resort, but we cannot speak highly enough for Sandals Ochi. Thank you so much to the staff who made our trip so memorable.

Romario was awesome at the manor pool
