Close to a perfect experience for my family and I while at the resort last week. To get the negatives out of the way: 1. We arrived to a bungalow with broken AC. After some back and forth it was corrected after 24 hours but we had one warm night of sleep. 2. Mitra Market, the main dining area was shut down the last night for a private event. We didn’t see any advanced warning of this and found it to be really frustrating showing up for dinner with three kids to find it closed. Yes, plenty of other options but many required advanced reservations or a sit and wait meal. This could be handled better in the future. The good: The list is long, very long. First and foremost, the staff was amazing. Reception, lifeguards, housekeeping, maintenance and beyond! Every single person we crossed was friendly, polite and helpful. No one was ever seen being distracted by cellphone use or earbuds. The facilities are really well maintained overall minus the brief AC issue. It is a beautiful resort on the beach. The pool is spectacular and we pretty much lived in it for 5 days straight. There was more wildlife on the resort grounds than on the boat tour we took in Tamarindo. Monkeys, flamingos, iguanas, deer, etc…watch out for the iguanas at the pool, we did hear of a couple people being bit while holding food that the iguanas wanted. Not sure of the circumstances but just be aware and give them space. Lastly, be aware of the beach legend “Erik Garcia”. You will read about him here and Reddit and I will confirm he is the real deal. He is the go to guy for offsite excursion's. The resort does have an independent provider of activities but after a couple of failed attempts to set something up with them I crossed paths with Erik on the beach. With less than 15 hours notice he had by kids set up for private surf lessons in Tamarindo including transportation. I would love to visit again with my family! Plus, the my wife still needs a crepe from Mitra Market that she never tried since she waited until the last night when it was closed unexpectedly. Thanks for all the great memories Westin! Keep up the strong work.

Great trip with family and young kids. Food was really good. Accommodations great. The pool area could use more lighting at night. A little confusing to get around at first, but once we figured it out it was great. The beach is nice but not a lot of space there. Lots of vendors fighting for your attention. Erik G in the blue shirt had some good recommendations if you haven’t booked excursions already. Would definitely return for another visit.

My wife and I jetted off to Playa Conchal for our 10-year wedding anniversary, hunting for the perfect mix of pure relaxation and real adventure. The Westin Reserva Conchal delivered both in spades. The food was consistently fresh, flavorful, and downright addictive. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and there was always something fun happening every night to keep the energy high. During the day we soaked up the sun on that gorgeous warm beach and snorkeled in the shallow rocky coves—where we actually got to swim alongside a sea turtle! My wife was over the moon; it was pure magic. We also went all-in on a two-hour ATV adventure, and damn, it was one of the highlights of the entire trip. The tour cruised us along the stunning coastline to two secluded beaches most people never see, then wound through the colorful neighborhoods of Brasilito. Shuttle service picked us up and dropped us off right at the resort, and our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and super accommodating. Even my wife—who usually isn’t into motorized stuff—ended up loving every second of driving her own ATV. She had a blast! I can’t recommend this two-hour tour enough. (They also offer longer ones to waterfalls if you’re feeling extra adventurous.) The whole experience flew by way too fast. We’re already talking about going back.

Traveled here for 4 nights to finish off our spring break with my husband and 2 daughters (ages 16 & 10). What a treat! I believe we are at every restaurant but Manglar and we never had a bad meal. The rooms were a great size for all 4 of us. The howler monkeys and their mango throwing was always entertaining. The main pool is huge but it’s hard to get chairs. I wish more of the Marriott brand would move to the reservation system like at the Gaylord hotels; just two chairs a room would be such a help. We really enjoyed the beach but at this time of year we didn’t have a clear view of the sunset. The electric cart transportation is genius and I felt like every time we stepped out of our room a cart showed up and could drive us to our destination on the grounds. It’s also located inside a private area that includes the golf course and other accusations like full time residents and condos so it felt very safe. Don’t hesitate to book it and enjoy!
