Question we are traveling to the Westin at the end of the month and I was wondering if they have an incidental nightly hold at check in or is it just the amount for the room, thanks.

Our stay at the beautiful The Westin Reserva Conchal was absolutely fantastic. The resort offers stunning grounds, spacious rooms, excellent restaurants, and direct access to the breathtaking Playa Conchal. The pool areas were amazing, the staff was friendly and professional, and the entire property provided a relaxing and luxurious Costa Rican experience. The resort is known for its beautiful beachfront setting, extensive amenities, and all-inclusive experience. To make our vacation even better, we booked our transportation and tours with Issys Tours Costa Rica. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly organized. Our transfers were punctual, comfortable, and safe. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and always willing to help. The tours were one of the highlights of our trip. We experienced the natural beauty of Costa Rica while enjoying personalized service and attention to detail. Communication was excellent throughout our stay, and the team made sure everything exceeded our expectations. If you are staying at The Westin Reserva Conchal, I highly recommend booking your transportation and excursions with Issys Tours Costa Rica. Together they provided an unforgettable vacation experience. We would definitely use their services again on our next trip to Costa Rica. Highly recommended! 🌴🇨🇷🚐✨

We had a wonderful stay in a Premium Junior Suite and loved how convenient our room location was — just steps from the pool, beach, and most of the restaurants. Even though we were centrally located it was quiet and felt private with the bungalow style buildings. We traveled with our 13- and 15-year-old sons, and the resort was a great fit for our family. The lagoon pool was beautiful, the food was good (even satisfied our picky eater child), and all of the employees were incredibly friendly. Always introduced themselves and called us by name. The shuttle system was also very easy to use - Kevin was the kindest driver!! The value was great with inclusions like room service and beach equipment. The only improvement would be more premium liquor (even the black wristbands didn’t have the best selection) and premium coffee. However, the espresso machine/filtered water station in the room was great as well as the specialty cocktails in Cauri and Faisanella. Our boys especially enjoyed the golf course and golf simulator, and we loved seeing the wildlife around the resort, especially the iguanas and hearing the howler monkeys. Grateful for meeting Erik G. in the blue shirt on the beach for helping arrange our tour to La Leona Waterfall. It was truly the highlight of our trip. We are so grateful and hope to return to this resort again soon and hope to try the spa and see even more of this beautiful country!

I arrived on May 24, three nights before my group conference reservation of four night - a total of seven nights. My initial check-in experience was excellent. Camilla at the front desk Bonvoy elite line was warm, professional, and welcoming. Although my room wasn't ready before the 3:00 p.m. check-in time, she provided us with wristbands so we could enjoy lunch and access resort facilities while we waited. As a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member, I was also given access to the Westin Club, including its exclusive pool area and breakfast venue. Unfortunately, things became much less enjoyable when I returned at 3:00 p.m. to collect my room key. Despite having already completed the check-in process earlier, I was required to stand in the regular check-in line. The Bonvoy Elite line was unavailable for the room key process I was told, I needed to wait in line like other guests! I waited approximately 35 minutes to receive my room assignment. I was initially assigned a ground-floor room, but after hearing reports of bugs in some of those rooms, I requested a room on the second floor. The hotel accommodated my request, but the room they assigned was in Building 22 room 228 one of the furthest locations from the beach, restaurants, and main pool. By that point, I was tired of waiting and decided to accept it. The room itself was clean, spacious, and featured a large bathroom with plenty of closet space. However, upon arrival, we found a birthday cake and a "Welcome Back, Sara" note waiting in the room, which made it clear that we had been given someone else's room. We chose not to contact reception, as we didn't want to go through the hassle of changing rooms yet again after already dealing with multiple room assignment issues. Unfortunately, the sofa bed was old, uncomfortable, and noticeably sagging forward. Since I was sharing the room with a colleague and slept on the sofa bed, I experienced the discomfort firsthand. While the room had some positive features, the repeated mistakes and room allocation issues were frustrating and detracted from the overall experience. The resort grounds are beautiful, with lush tropical landscaping, flowers, monkeys swinging through the trees, and a variety of birds. The Westin Club area was a standout feature, offering comfortable seating, attentive drink service, and dedicated shuttle transportation. Outside of the Club area, however, transportation was inconsistent. Shuttles were often full or unavailable during the day and evening, forcing me to walk long distances to restaurants and the beach. The beach itself is stunning and perfect for long walks. However, for a resort marketed as a five star property, it lacked comfortable lounge chairs, quality umbrellas, and beachside drink service. Another disappointment was the number of vendors waiting just outside the security gate. Every day, guests were approached repeatedly about massages, excursions, and merchandise. This significantly detracted from the relaxing atmosphere. By comparison, I purchased a day pass at the nearby W Resort and noticed far fewer vendors and a much more peaceful beach and hotel experience. The main pool was attractive but the water was unusually warm, and there was no poolside beverage service. Guests had to leave their chairs and walk to the bar for drinks. The fitness center was well-equipped but offered no group fitness classes such as aerobics, stretching, or other organized activities at the gym. Restaurant reservations were often difficult to secure through the app. Fortunately, Camilla was incredibly helpful and consistently assisted me with the booking process. Whenever I had trouble making reservations, I would stop by the lobby and speak with her at her desk, and she always went out of her way to help secure restaurant bookings for me. She was lovely, professional, and made the experience much easier. Overall, the food quality was good. Caracola, the beachfront restaurant, was my favorite lunch spot thanks to its excellent food and friendly service. Breakfast, however, was disappointing. The buffet selection at Mitra felt limited, and the omelet station often had long waits because only one staff member was preparing omelets. The first day of our conference group’s arrival was particularly disappointing. More than 100 guests arrived around the same time, yet when we visited the buffet at approximately 2:15 p.m., there was very little food remaining. This created a poor first impression and suggested a lack of planning for a large scheduled group arrival. I also experienced repeated confusion regarding my room reservations. I had four separate reservations that were supposedly combined into one seven-night stay. Despite this, the front desk called me almost daily to inform me that I was checking out the following day. Staff seemed unsure about my reservation status throughout my stay. At one point, a representative contacted me on my second or third day to ask about my experience. I shared my concerns and was told I would receive an email within 20 minutes regarding compensation points. The email didn't arrive until the night before my departure. While I appreciated the gesture, the delayed follow-up reinforced my impression that guest concerns were not being addressed with urgency. What ultimately made this stay memorable were a few exceptional employees who consistently went above and beyond. Special thanks to: • Camilla at the front desk • Rachel at the Italian restaurant • Luis at the Mediterranean restaurant • Yvan at the tapas restaurant • Kenny at the Westin Club Kenny deserves particular recognition. Whenever he saw me walking because I couldn't find a shuttle, he would personally drive me wherever I needed to go. He knew my name because the first time we met he asked me. That level of service was truly exceptional. As a Bonvoy Elite member, I expected a room upgrade or at least a more convenient location, especially considering the challenges I encountered. I noticed that some upgraded areas, including the Westin Club pool section, remained largely empty while other guests were being relocated from rooms with maintenance issues. Better proactive customer service and follow-up could have dramatically improved my overall impression. This resort has beautiful grounds, good food, and some outstanding employees. However, consistent service, attention to guest concerns, and operational organization are what truly define a five star resort. Unfortunately, those areas fell short during my stay. You can’t wait until a guest checks out to make a positive impression. During a three-night personal vacation and a four-night business trip, there are plenty of opportunities to address concerns and improve the guest experience. Unfortunately, this hotel fell short in that regard, which is why I had to give it a 3-star review based on the level of service. In June, I’ll be staying at the Westin Grand Cayman for a two-night vacation and a four-night business trip, and I’m looking forward to seeing how their service compares.

My family stayed at the Westin for a week and found the services excellent, people friendly and rooms were clean and beautiful . We ate at all of the restaurants and found the food overall very good (especially compared to other all inclusive resorts we’ve stayed at ) with only 1-2 just ok meals. Our favorite was Manglar. We did a coffee tasting through activities tent (Erike and Lily were so fun!) and cocktail making and played at the beach. Oh and our house keeping was great with restocking our room every day. They even learned which snacks we liked the most and made sure those were there ! As for excursions I have to mention Erik G (he has google blue shirt right when you step onto the beach ) google him!! We used him to book a full day at Rincon with waterfalls and had a great hike and hot springs and lunch! Our guide José was so knowledgeable and made the day so special for us. Erik was a great coordinator for the tour and even arranged transportation. Just highly recommended using him. So responsive and provided very reasonable price prices. Loved this beautiful resort, we saw monkeys and iguanas and amazing birds just walking around every morning at breakfast or dinner time. If you book here you won’t be sorry!
