Rundown. Shaky railings on stairs going to beach and heading to restaurants. Rotting wood on stairs with holes. Beds are hard as a rock. When issues were brought to the management, they were ignored. Tons of seaweed on the beach - making it unable to enjoy a swim in the ocean. I have been at this hotel 5 times before, but not since before Covid. The level of service and the state of the hotel were great before which is why we went back. Not anymore!! NEVER again will we stay there. My family member uses a walker; she is able to do stairs (there are no elevators) with some effort but with shaky railings and uneven stairs it was very, very dangerous. Plus no one ever helped bring her walker up the stairs! Service is not great. We asked for a refund after our first night due to the dangerous conditions, but have been denied multiple times. We decided to check out and go to a different, ACTUALLY luxurious hotel after the first night. Don't go to the Diamond!

The beach here si truly unique, beautiful and with warm water. We’ve visited several hotels across Mexico, and this is by far the best food we’ve experienced. The atmosphere is incredibly calm and safe, with no loud parties or intrusive music. Instead, it’s all about relaxation and tranquility. The staff made a big difference in our stay, every one was kind and thoughtful.

Everything about this resort is 10/10. The food, service, and quality of the stay is top notch. We tried to extend the stay but the airline was flexible. We will be coming back and will be recommending it to our friends.

We had a pretty good stay at the Blue Diamond Riviera Maya. The food was excellent, the absence of a buffet meant more care into the à la carte menus. Whoever the head chef is at this resort is, is doing a fantastic job as it was probably the best resort food I've ever had across all the different resorts that I've been to so far. Just know that the food does take a bit of time since it's all made to order but it's worth the wait. Though the cocktails could use some practice, sadly the drinks that I ordered were not to my taste (spicy bloody Ceasar, mojito). Special mention to Jenny who was our server for several meals and she was always so bright and cheerful and always so welcoming. The rooms were spacious and because it was an adult's only property it was very peaceful and quiet. I spent my stay relaxing on the beach and taking walks up and down the strip and biking around the property. We loved the bikes that were available to be used to get around the resort. Now, there were a few things that I observed that would have made the experience better, given the cost we paid for the implied 'luxury boutique' hotel experience. The facilities we're a little lacking - gym closes at 7PM and the spa closes at 5PM everyday. Which is quite early if you wanted to get a workout or spa season in before turning in for the night. We found the staff at the spa less welcoming than the other staff members on the resort in general. At 4PM cushions were already being removed from the poolside and no towels left are available for guests to use should they want to make use of the pool. We just got an overall vibe that they didn't want us to be there using the facilities even when we came at 9AM. Provided that it's an all-inclusive resort we were quite surprised of the $20 USD flat fee charged for ordering room service when our prior experience with all-inclusive resorts was well...all included. When we did order room service one night, it took over 90 mins to arrive and it was cold by the time we received it. Room service is supposed to be available until 1AM, we ordered at midnight and didn't receive our food until 3 follow up calls to reception. We left our tray on the bench in the foyer of the room as to not leave it outside where the raccoons might get to the dishes. House keeping did not pick up the tray for 2 days and then left the tray outside the door where it was ravaged by raccoons. The tray didn't get picked up until the day we left - 3 days later. And lastly there can be some improvements to room maintenance. The door to the plunge bath was locked and very difficult to unlock and open so we didn't even bother with it. The shower pressure also was not even on both showers, you just need to try both to see which one is better. The other guest that travelled with us did not have power in his room when he arrived and the ceiling in his suite was leaking all night due to the rain. We also noticed the AC didn't seem to function that week depending on which room we were in. And house keeping didn't always refill the shampoo/body wash (leaving more lotion instead). Some of the bathroom stalls by the beach could use some TLC - properly mount toilet paper holders, add some hooks for bags in the women stalls, fix some of the locks. Overall what really saved the trip for us was the food. Everything else was a little short of expectations but it was small potatoes.

The food was excellent, and the rooms are very spacious, with a large patio that lets you really enjoy the surrounding nature. We did notice that the hotel makes a big effort to remove the sargassum from the shore, which is appreciated. However, there is still quite a lot of it, and at times the smell can be unpleasant. Perhaps exploring additional or alternative ways to manage it could improve the beach experience. Aside from that, it’s a peaceful place with great amenities and a relaxing atmosphere.
