Devossion by Live Aqua Playa Del Carmen

My daughter and I enjoyed 7 nights in an oceanfront room. The accommodations and service were 5 star. Housekeeping was impressive. Immaculate and strong attention to detail in tidying up. The pools were excellent. We reserved a cabana for 2 days in the secondary pool area. Very relaxing and again, great service. The daily fitness class held in the main pool at noon was fun and invigorating. Enjoyed breakfast in Azur. I prefer the ambiance and service of a full service restaurant to buffet. The staff at Azur were lovely. Carnivore restaurant was our favorite dinner spot. The filets were cooked perfectly. Elegant service experience. Our dinner table at Fiorella was next to the garden where a local raccoon chose to stop by and see what was on the menu. The Pool Grille prepared 2 Paella options for lunch on Thursday. It reminded me of the delicious Paella at Live Aqua Cancun. Mixed drinks were inconsistent across the resort but fine overall. Sadly, the sargassum was pretty bad (and smelly) so we didn’t use the beach but pools were great!

Went here for a fun getaway with my fiancé and we had a great time. The food was excellent and the daily activities were more than enough to keep us engaged. Shout out to Erik for all the fun games and helpful advice on local spots.

Lovely experience at Devossion. The staff were very friendly and there were tons of interesting activities each day. We especially loved the Mezcal tasting and dance lessons. There were also water aerobics and Zumba, lots of mixology classes, and some art opportunities and competitions, like guacamole making. Erik is the head of activities and was so kind! He helped us get involved in things and feel welcome.

If you are looking for a relaxing couples' getaway, this hotel is a fantastic choice. The Highlights: Excellent Service: I have to give credit to all the staff for the excellent service - everyone was great. Special thank you to Farid at the reception, Manny the bellman and Lazaro at the restaurant for the great hospitality! Fantastic Food: You truly cannot go wrong with the food here; this hotel delivers. First, the breakfast restaurant offers very healthy options, including a dedicated gluten-free section, freshly pressed juices, and plenty of salads. There's an à la carte menu in addition to the buffet. For lunch, the Italian restaurant is amazing as all the tables are outside, adding a very nice ambiance. Every item on that menu was great, the tomato and mozzarella Bufala entree was fantastic, and the pizza and pasta were great. The steakhouse and Mexican restaurants were amazing for dinner; every item was great once again. Every dessert menu in any restaurant was outstanding, from the churros to the soufflé to the tiramisu - this place absolutely delivers. Pools & Beach: Plenty of space at the infinity pools to enjoy. The beach is good; while it isn’t entirely private, we always felt completely safe. Great Daytime Energy: There are plenty of activities during the day, including a daily DJ performance. It creates a great vibe without making it feel like a rowdy "party hotel." The daily champagne celebration is also a do-not-miss ritual. Excellent Location: The resort is located right by downtown Playa del Carmen. It was incredibly easy to step outside the resort to stroll down 5th Avenue and experience the local vibe.
