Grand Velas Riviera Maya

Grand Velas is easily the best all inclusive resort I’ve ever stayed at! All the amenities, incredible staff (especially our rockstar concierge Jessica!!), delicious food and spaces were top notch. I can’t say enough amazing things about this serene stay and their white glove service!! I will absolutely be coming back and recommending to anyone and everyone!

Grand Velas is exceptional- the food, amenities and rooms are sublime. The service is where the bar is set above all others. Our concierge- Nicolas and Jeronimo, were attentive to everything we requested, anticipated many things we didn't know we needed or wanted, and asked if they had any uncertainties. We will cherish the memories of the Grand Velas.

Want a fantastic vacation? Go see Luis and Jessica at the Grand Velas in Playa Del Carmen! They were beyond amazing as concierges checking in with us daily, responding quickly to every request and truly going above and beyond to make our stay special. When we mentioned we were celebrating a family member’s birthday they completely surprised us by secretly decorating the hotel room with balloons and banners. It was such a fun and thoughtful touch! They also made sure the celebration continued throughout our stay arranging special birthday treats at every meal. Their attention to detail and genuine care made all the difference. Luis and Jessica are the absolute best. We can’t recommend them enough!

I could go on and on for hours about how much we love Grand Velas. We had the pleasure of returning back for the third time last summer in an Ambassador Family Suite. Not only are the accommodations beautiful, clean, modern, and spacious, but the amenities are plentiful and so personalized. My kids love the teepee, stuffed animals, and mini fridge filled with their favorite treats. Our concierge, Gilberto, was so accommodating, brought us laughter every day, and always made sure we were having the best time. The food is incredible and while the restaurants are all great in their own way, the buffet at Azul is TOP NOTCH. You’ll find Chef roaming around to ensure quality, but ask him for a special dish and he makes it happen! We are major foodies and plan our travel around good food - Cocina de Autor is everything it claims to be. Innovative, seasonal, culturally expressive - don’t skip this experience. The programming is nonstop and full of fun - whether it’s a performer while you’re sitting poolside or an impromptu foam party for the kids, there is always something to do. Pro tip: try the seabobs! While it’s not included in your stay (and is a bit pricey) it is worth every minute. Our whole family loves taking turns and zooming around the GIANT pool. We do this every year! LADIES! do. not. miss the spa! The water ceremony in the beginning is a perfect way to unwind and acclimate to the relaxing environment of this incredible spa. I do the Lomi Lomi massage every time and it somehow gets better and better every year?! I feel like I’ve been transported to the most serene place and leave there begging for more. I might just have to splurge on a 90-min this year! Sadly on this particular trip the kids club was under construction, but Gilberto and the team went out of their way to ensure our kids were entertained. We even had a rainy day while there and he surprised my kids by preparing a warm bath overflowing with bubbles and balloons! My daughter still talks about this often. It’s truly the little touches that mean the most to us. We are thrilled to return this weekend for another stay at our favorite place and very much so looking forward to seeing the newly renovated kids club and kids SPA!

Amazing experience! Food was incredible, staff were amazing (special shout out to Jessica Meza our concierge). We stayed at the zen section. The jungle aspects meant we couldn’t really enjoy our balcony space. We spent most of our time in the grand class adults only most premium area. The breakfast there was superb overlooking sunrise. Michelin restaurant was truly amazing. There were two gyms, zen was bigger and had lots of kit, grand class was small and packed. We loved the bike tour as well, it was lovely to do exercise and learn about the hotels history. The aqua class was also fun! Food was incredible, alcohol options were fantastic. Spa was very relaxing - it’s expensive but worth it. The shuttle vans were very fast and we never had to wait more than 5 mins for one to take us anywhere within the resort. Very relaxing and premium. I do prefer grand velas Cabos, which is smaller and more boutique vibe. We went from here to another hotel in Cancun and the grand velas was so much better. I’ll never stay anywhere else in Mexico other than a grand velas hotel.
