Impression Moxche by Secrets

The resort is as beautiful as the photos and the entertainment and activities are both fantastic. Some aspects of the food offerings and availability can be enhanced.

We chose Impression Moxché to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary (July 18–25, 2026), and met most of our expectations. The level of personalized service made this milestone a memorable experience. . Our butlers, Cesar and Alejandro, were exceptional. They didn’t just respond to our requests—they anticipated our needs and suggested thoughtful touches that made our anniversary feel truly special. Thank you Alejandro, our last day was perfect. Our room was attended to each day with perfection. This service was so well organized. 10 stars for cleanliness and attention to detail. The pool attendants, David and Daniel, also deserve recognition. They worked tirelessly every day, setting up loungers, moving umbrellas to keep us in the shade, and even offering eyeglass cleaning poolside. Their genuine smiles and attention to detail made every pool day a pleasure. A special thank you to Roger at the rooftop bar, who always greeted us by name. Those small personal touches elevated the entire experience. The food throughout the resort was excellent quality and presentation, however, the upcharges even for impression guests affected the experience and value in our opinion. The house wine was of poor quality for a brand like secrets and the inability to have a steak without a 60$us upcharge is odd. We especially appreciated Emanuel at Bisou for his outstanding attention to detail. We’d also like to recognize Grimaldy, the warm and personable hostess at Bisou, and Francesco at the Impression Lobby Bar, who made some of the best martinis we had all week. One area that could use improvement was the cocktails at most of the bars. While the quality of the spirits was excellent, many mixed drinks relied on overly sweet premade syrups instead of fresh ingredients. A stronger focus on fresh mixers and craft mixology—especially at the Impression-exclusive bars—would make the beverage program match the outstanding food and service. Normally, after a week away, we’re ready to get back home. This time, we were genuinely sad to leave. We won’t miss the sugary cocktails, but we’ll absolutely miss the incredible staff, exceptional dining, nightly entertainment, and the relaxing atmosphere that made us feel completely pampered and rejuvenated.

We recently stayed at Impressions by Secrets Moxché for our honeymoon and overall had a great experience. The property itself is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are immaculate, the pools are stunning, and the overall atmosphere feels luxurious and relaxing. The service was the highlight of our stay—every staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely went above and beyond to make our experience special. The entertainment team also deserves a special mention. The staff running the daily activities were fantastic, energetic, and engaging. They created a fun atmosphere around the resort and were always welcoming and encouraging guests to participate. The biggest disappointment was the dining experience. Most of the restaurants shared with Secrets Moxché were quite average and didn’t fully match the luxury price point of Impressions. The dinner reservation process was also somewhat frustrating, as availability was limited and the process felt more complicated than expected for a resort at this level. We also found that some of the hosts on the Secrets side of the restaurants were not always as welcoming or accommodating as expected, which took away slightly from the overall experience. One example was at the Japanese restaurant, where there were several open tables available, but when we asked to be seated at one, we were told no. Shortly after, those tables were given to guests staying at Secrets who arrived after us, which was disappointing. There were, however, some great standouts. Cielo and Seaside Grill were both enjoyable, and Teodoro was a highlight. The chef and staff at Teodoro were exceptional—they were incredibly accommodating, took the time to understand our dietary restrictions, and adjusted the menu to ensure we had a great experience. We really appreciated the extra effort and had one of our favourite meals of the trip. We also want to recognize Paulina by the pool, who provided excellent service, as well as Eduardo and Mauricio at Seaside Grill, who went above and beyond and made our dining experiences memorable. We also tried the French restaurant, which had very high ratings, but it ended up being our least favourite meal of the trip. Unfortunately, we did not find the food enjoyable and felt it did not live up to the expectations set by the reviews. We also found that the steak upgrades at Ember were difficult to justify, as the quality did not match the additional cost. Given the significant price difference between Impressions and Secrets Moxché, we expected the overall experience to feel more elevated and distinct. While the resort has many incredible qualities, there are opportunities to better reflect the premium positioning of Impressions through more exclusive touches, enhanced dining experiences, and added value throughout the stay. We also felt the wine selection could be improved, particularly the included house wines. For a luxury property at this price point, we expected a more elevated wine offering compared to what is available at Secrets Moxché. Another thing to note is that the beach is unfortunately not very usable due to the seaweed and water conditions, so most of our time was spent enjoying the resort’s pools and amenities. Our room also had a slight musty smell, likely due to the humidity, but it was not a major issue. We were also surprised that the room did not include a minibar and had very limited snacks available, which would have been a nice addition given the level of the resort. Overall, Impressions by Secrets Moxché is a stunning resort with exceptional service, beautiful facilities, and a wonderful atmosphere. While there are areas that could be improved to better align with the expectations of a luxury property at this price point, we had a memorable honeymoon and truly appreciated the staff who made our stay so enjoyable.

Gorgeous resort with great atmosphere. The staff is top notch. We enjoyed the food, drinks, shows & pools. This resort is perfect for couples wanting to relax and enjoy the sun. There were plenty of friend groups there as well. It is not as lively as other resorts in the area but you can definitely find entertainment if you choose to. They have nightly shows & a nightclub. They are inside & air conditioned!
