Reviews for La Casa de la Playa

Five Star Luxury and more

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Wow. I’m not sure where to begin. Every detail of this magnificent resort deserves praise. From the architecture, to the natural stone, gorgeous wood, soft sheets, inviting pool, striking waterfront, serene spa, culinary genius, curated alcohol experiences, chocolate bar, world class art, genteel staff, luxurious amenities… all of it. I’ve been fortunate to stay at some of the best resorts in the world. I would put La Casa de la Playa above all of them. No exaggeration. The harmony with nature is palpable. But yet no creature comfort is spared. The restaurants showcase the best of Mexico, staying true to each region highlighted at the individual dining location. Also be sure to inquire about a dinner on the beach. Exquisite! Should you desire a day on the water, there are several first class yachts to choose from. I would like to give special commendation to hotel PR manager Alan, as well as butlers Gabriela and Neftali, servers Esaul and Miguel, and bar manager Sergio. If you are considering an all inclusive 5 star Mexican getaway, you will be hard pressed to find a better option.

Miguel from the sky bar was amazing!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Miguel from the rooftop is a 10 star person! One night our family wanted to eat appetizers at the sky bar. He went above and beyond and tailored to our every need. And he also thought of things we did not even know we needed! He made our whole vacation.

Best Resort in Mexico

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This is easily one of the best resorts in the world, and I can say with confidence I've never been anywhere better in Mexico. The food was just incredible, every single meal was awesome. The service was also awesome, every single person we interacted with was amazing. The amenities, amazing. The rooms, amazing. The pools, amazing. I really like how quaint and compact the resort is. With only around 60-65 rooms, there aren't a lot of people on the grounds, so you never have to wait for anything, and always have access to what you'd like. We didn't do much in terms of excursions, so can't comment on that. It is expensive, and I do think the spa pricing was too expensive, you get what you pay for in the resort world, and I feel the value was there. Consider this as a special trip, as it was for us, but would highly recommend.

Unforgettable!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The only problem with staying at CDLP is that you will never want to stay anywhere else again! From the moment we arrived until we reluctantly departed we were absolutely spoiled! Every meal and drink was delicious (standouts include barbacoa at Lumbre, waffle from room service, and yogurt at Tuch de Luna!) You could stay for two weeks and not get to everything they offer but you truly can’t go wrong with anything! If you are looking for a romantic experience don’t miss the Cenote dinner and if you like food at all don’t miss Ha! Plan to check a bag on your return because there is so much you will want to bring with you!

Once in a lifetime trip.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Our room and outside pool/balcony were completely private. The shower options in the room are great. We would have spent an entire day in our room if we had an extra day. The room service great, actual hot food. You can customize your bar fridge. The daily special treats were amazing. 24/7 chocolate bar. tequila bar and wine cellar. Completely uncrowded. The restaurants were wonderful. When dining, we did not need to order specific food for each member of our group. We went with the 7 course meals with the chef's option. The chef created a special course for one of our gluten allergy friends. Food was wonderful.
