La Casa de la Playa

We went for our honeymoon and was absolutely blown away. This hotel was THE most amazing experience we have had! I think vacations for now on will always be compared to this one for how much fun and joy it had brought us! 😁

Overall it's an amazing place, probably the best beach in the area, incredible rooms, top class food and great service (overall). This was our 5th time visiting and some parts better, some worse... which is normal. First of all the good and what stood out... The Xal dining experience was much better, I think they worked the menu out better than when it first opened and was really good. The other restaurants were great also and only had one bad thing the entire stay. Service overall was great, we were there for our anniversary and the extra little things make a big difference. A lot of people we knew from before and is nice to see a friendly face. The beach was amazing, especially when this time of year is known for heavy sargassum. The spa services were good (but quite expensive) So why not 5 stars? Like I said we've been there before and have something to compare it to. For one, we were never contacted before we arrived to make dinner reservations, travel plans, nothing. It was really odd. Second, one of the reasons we went was a promotion for the spa but after we arrived they said our reservation wasn't made properly so it wasn't applicable. It was really disappointing since it was one of the main reasons we made the reservation but sort of understandable. However for this class of resort, there should be more effort to make things better. We were basically told 'If you have a problem here is the management number and deal with them' whereas I would expect them to try and figure something out. Even a small gesture like 'We understand this miscommunication and so we want to offer you x'. The food is great but it's strange that not everything is included. For example, if you do the wine pairing at Xal, it's an extra fee. If you're doing the pairing at Lumbre, it's an extra fee. But at the same time you can go to the Michelin rated Ha at their sister resort and it's all free. If you're paying $2000/night for a room, just include it or have a 'premium' pairing. It's still one of my favorite places but there is a lot of opportunity to make it exceptional.

Absolutely worth it. They strive to make every interaction memorable and customized for you. We did a split trip between arte and casa de la playa and casa was hands down what we expected and what they advertised. We never felt like a bother and any request we had was fulfilled. We beach was also stunning. No seaweed and just gorgeous soft sand. The food was all excellent and the dinners all felt like a cultural journey throughout the meal. The cenote dinner was stunning. Absolutely recommend doing that. There is also a jellyfish tank in each room, and they allow you to tour the jellyfish lab. It was so cool to see the care and attention they give to them. We did not have a single bad experience

We just returned from a five night stay here. We are used to the best of the best in luxury travel and Casa De laplaya did not disappoint. Warm friendly service, beautiful accommodations and fabulous food. We will be back regularly❤️

La casa de la playa is a dream vacation! My husband and I just returned from our second visit, this time celebrating our honeymoon. From start to finish, the experience is top notch. You get picked up and dropped off in private transportation which makes things a breeze. The grounds are absolutely STUNNING. Everything is so clean and pristine, you truly feel like you’re in paradise. What blows this experience out the water is the food and service. Every person you come into contact with is so kind and helpful. They truly work so hard each and every day! Santos at the beach was amazing! Such a sweet, kind, hardworking gentleman. He is constantly going up and down stairs in the heat and does it with a smile. He remembered our names and drinks order. Thanks Santos! Kiyoshi was our butler and was kind and a pleasure to work with. We greatly appreciated him going to Arte to retrieve our pottery pieces when we were busy having an amazing time at the beach. Alberto was our butler our first visit and it was so nice seeing a familiar face. He also remembered us which felt special. Marco Rico picked us up from Arte one evening and he let us know that he remembered picking us up on our last visit. It was very nice to catch up with him. Moses was our driver to the airport and he was such a genuinely nice guy. We had great conversation and hope to see him on our next visit. The entire staff a LCDLP was amazing. I’d also like to recognize housekeeping which can be a thankless job at times since you don’t usually come into contact with your housekeeper. Our room was spotless the entire stay and we were so appreciative. Also room service was very fast and efficient. Thank you everyone! The food is amazing! My husband and I usually do not go to all inclusives because of the lackluster food and drinks but LCDLP is not like any other all inclusive. Being able to visit all the restaurants across their properties is a treat because all the food is so good. The Michelin star restaurant HA is spectacular and a must visit every time! We cannot wait to visit Casa again. It truly feels like our home away from home. Thank you to everyone for an incredible stay!
