A truly exceptional stay and top tier service! The servers at Hadar restaurant Ismael and Sandy went above and beyond to provide us with everything we needed. Kudos to them for making our meal time perfect.

paradisus Playa deCarmen was a perfect spot to catchup on rest and relaxation. The rooms and facilities were great. Food was top notch and service throughout was perfect. Christopher, the pool attendant made sure all our needs were met! Miriam our concierge, mafe sure everything was taken care of from dinner reservations to massages. Excellent overall experience!

Where do I even start! My honest and long review. This hotel is truly, truly amazing and I cannot recommend it highly enough. We paid extra on arrival to upgrade to The Reserve, whilst I don't know how it'd compare without the upgrade, I certainly think what we experienced made it worth every penny. Our Concierge, Elmer. WOW! The man is a huge credit to the hotel and deserves lots of praise every single day. No request was too big or small for him and he made us feel very special. He was always available when we needed him or had any questions. He also helped me with a couple of little surprises for my husband. Not to mention him making a special effort to go and get milkshakes for said 'child' husband! Other staff to give praise too are, German and Adrian in Sal, Gerardo in Capella, Christopher on reception, Ariadna in Sante, Adriana in Blue Agave. Moises at The Reserve desk who helped us with taxi booking and extra time in our room on the last day when our flight was severely delayed. We mostly spent our time by the Reserve Pool as we're not really 'party people'. The pool was perfect in terms of temperature, and location to our room, it was also close to the beach. I must mention the wonderful Alfredo who made sure we were served drinks regularly at the pool. Absolute superstar employee. Grounds - HUGE, as its combined with the family side, the resort felt massive. It was decorated really well and we loved that the mangroves and 'jungle' areas were left in places and incorporated into the hotel grounds. This meant a variety of wildlife! Loved it. I also liked the lobby art that was on display. Food - was exceptional in all restaurants. Sal in particular, where we made a return booking and paid for, as it was so delicious. We only dined in the buffet a couple of times as it was a bit repetitive and we made full use of the restaurants on offer (booked by Elmer). Mostly for breakfast and lunch we dined at Sante. Definitely recommend this if you are booking The Reserve. Varied food made fresh to order and table service. Drink - great range on offer, only thing I'd mention is it'd be great to have some 'menus' showing what options were available. That said, the bartenders made up pretty much whatever you asked for! Entertainment - what I particularly liked about this hotel is that the entertainment is spread out, so you can choose what you want to get involved with or not as in our case! We spent every evening before dinner at South Bar and enjoyed the DJ sets that took place. So much so we've now created a playlist based on Erick's set. Room - the bed was huge and very comfortable. It was decorated beautifully and had everything we needed including a large bath, his & her rainfall shower and sinks, robes and slippers, plus a jacuzzi hot tub on the balcony. It was quiet at night and felt peaceful. The cleaning staff work tirelessly too and it shows! Our room was immaculate. Gym - pretty well equipped for a hotel gym with most equipment and decent range of dumbbells. Only niggle for me is the lack of kettle bells and barbells. If you are a Reserve guest you have access to a private gym with a smith machine, but I much prefer free weights! Location - 40 mins transfer in private car from Cancun airport, so perfect after a long flight from the UK! Beach - yes, there is sargassum but they clear it every day and you can still walk along it quite easily. Now, I'm off to convince husband to book us again next year!

We've been to this resort about a dozen times. We enjoy the Adults Only section that has the quiet and relaxation that we want on this type of vacation. We especially come back because of Alfredo who handles the drink/food service around the pool area. His service is top notch and is the gold standard for others to emulate. Service at the Adults Only Restaurant - Sante was also excellent. A shout out to Renau and Wendy who both took excellent care of us at breakfast each morning. These three are not only employees, but have become friends as they remember us from year to year. It's like coming home when we arrive and that's an incredible feeling each year when we return.

The attention to the details surprised us positively. Little things like the perfume used in the reception areas, the arrangement of personal belongings by house service. I had a great experience, particularly in the south avenue bar (Armando and Alfredo), Hadar (Shaira and team) and pool (Manuel and team).
