14-night stay | 2 adults from the UK | Booked with TUI We stayed at Paradisus La Perla for 14 nights as a couple from the UK, booking through TUI, and overall had a really lovely holiday. The hotel itself is beautiful, the grounds are exceptionally well kept, and the whole resort feels polished and well maintained. If you are looking for an adults-focused all-inclusive in Playa del Carmen with very good food, strong facilities and friendly service, this is definitely worth considering. Check-in was not especially quick, but Otto on reception looked after us well and upgraded our room to The Reserve. We had considered whether the full Reserve benefits would be worth it and, having stayed, I would say they are nice to have rather than essential. The extras included a private pool, an outdoor restaurant, access to the steak restaurant, a private snack area and premium spirits, but if you choose not to upgrade you are still likely to have a very good stay. Service was one of the standout parts of the trip. Staff were consistently friendly, helpful and accommodating, and we found English was generally well understood throughout the resort. Michele from the sports team deserves a special mention for being so enthusiastic and encouraging, especially during the Pilates classes, which were excellent. There were several staff members who really made a positive impression. Ernesto and Carlos in Hadar were always welcoming and served with a smile. Oscar kept the drinks coming around the pool and somehow always appeared at the right time. Monica on reception was also very helpful, particularly when we needed to change money. Reyna at Fahrenheit pool bar gave excellent service too. Nehma and Mago in the main bar area were also superb, always serving drinks with a smile. It is those personal touches that make a resort stay feel memorable. Our room was spacious, stylish and kept immaculate by a very hard-working housekeeping team. We had a Reserve room with a jacuzzi, which felt like a real treat, and the décor was lovely. The only small downside in the room was that the toilet did not seem to have much ventilation, but this was minor in the grand scheme of things. The facilities were also a real strength. There are two gyms on site: a large main gym and a smaller one in The Reserve section with free weights, a Peloton bike and multi-function weights. The main gym is spacious with separate training zones and, although it was well used, we never had any problem getting on equipment. There was plenty going on activity-wise too, including Pilates, HIIT, bracelet, cocktail and candle making and a ceviche class, which helped add variety across a two-week stay. Food and drink Food quality was very good overall and one of the reasons we would recommend the hotel. Hadar was our go-to for breakfast and lunch, with a good buffet selection, fresh pasta and made-to-order options. Teppanyaki was our favourite evening restaurant and we went three times during our stay, which says a lot. Flora was another highlight, both for the setting and the food, especially the grilled prawns with butternut squash. Fahrenheit pool bar was also great for a more casual lunch, especially the burgers. Not every dining experience was quite as strong. Blue Agave was fine in terms of service, but the food was less impressive unless you are a big taco fan. We did not try the spa or the steak restaurant because both felt very expensive, and more generally there was a noticeable push to upsell extras across the resort. That did not ruin the experience, but it is worth knowing before you go. Entertainment Fairly low key, which suited us well but there was something on each evening across both the adults-only and family sides, and we particularly enjoyed the casino night, the retro pop group and the candlelight orchestra performance. We did not stay up late enough to try the sports bar or nightclub, but heard good things from others. Things to be aware of No hotel is perfect, and there are a few things worth mentioning for balance. The main pool becomes more of a party pool from around 3pm, although there is a quieter pool if that is more your style. Seaweed on the beach was an issue during our stay, which we expected to some extent, but the smell does drift into parts of the resort at times. Mosquitoes were also very noticeable, so definitely take repellent and any other precautions you normally use. If you are staying longer than a week and want to stick mainly to adults-only restaurants, the evening options can feel a little limited. Bar service around the quiet pool was also quite limited compared with the main pool, and as in many resorts, some guests were saving loungers early, which can be frustrating. There is a 24-hour snack option, but it is in the family section near reception, so depending on where your room is, it can feel a bit of a trek late at night. Final verdict Overall, we had a fantastic two-week stay and would happily recommend Paradisus La Perla to other travellers, particularly couples looking for a high-quality all-inclusive with beautiful surroundings, good food and a relaxed but polished feel. It is not the cheapest option once extras are factored in, and a few areas could be improved, but the service, setting and overall standard made it a very enjoyable holiday. If we returned to Playa del Carmen, we would definitely consider staying here again.

Phenomenal stay. Mago, Shaira, Oscar, Antonio, Housekeeping, Elizabeth with Activities. Everyone was above and beyond during our stay. Drinks and food were delicious! The resort was so clean and beautiful. You can tell they put a lot of work into it.

We stayed there for 6 nights and 7 days and out of the 6 nights 3 restaurants were bad and i got food poisoning from their seafood place. It was so hard to get reservations at the restaurants as the reservation desk never answered phone. They keep trying ti upsell services and most services that they market as premium are common in other resorts like their whole hydrotherapy section in the spa is paid but in other resorts their main pool has all of those things

Cayetano at the north bar was my son’s favourite “bartender” he helped this kid drink 40 piña colada’s in a week! He was very nice and personable everyday go find him if you stay here! Also makes great adult beverages too!
