UNICO 20N 87W - Riviera Maya

We had a wonderful trip to Unico this past week! My husband and I had a chance to get away without the kids for the first time, and it was everything we needed to recharge. Food was overall fantastic, and a highlight alongside service- in particular, our butlers Roger and Alexander were great! I am terrible with names, but the service at the members pool by the main pool was also wonderful, as was the entertainment staff (special s/o to Debra!) Everyone we interacted with was truly so, so nice. I'd say above all, the people were one of the standout things at this resort. Our room was always clean, but next time I'll probably being something along to help with the humidity. Some parts of the resort (namely pool areas) look like they could use a refresh. Sargassum I know is always a problem this time of year and not anything that can be helped, but set your expectations appropriately when it comes to the beach. Otherwise, the resort is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Hoping to be back again in a couple years since we don't often get to travel without the kiddos!

My husband and I have now stayed at Unico twice and feel that we can provide insight for travelers and potential wedding parties. The first time we stayed at this beautiful, lush resort was in August/September 2024 and most recently May 2026. The staff at Unico during our first stay (especially the wedding department with Daniela as our wedding coordinator!) ensured to help turn our wedding dream into a reality and a beloved memory. We loved hosting our wedding here, and the guests who attended still mention to us how much fun and relaxation they enjoyed while at the hotel. We returned for a second trip for a week during Memorial week, being able to fully immerse ourselves in a relaxing vacation. Service remains timely and professional. Food standards and quality are delivered with impeccable attention to detail and taste. We booked dinner reservations at Avec, Mura House, and Mi Carisa with wait staff consistently providing outstanding recommendations. Tip: Be sure to make dinner reservations well in advance as restaurants can become full! You can make dinner reservations through the app, your local host, or the pre-arrival concierge. We utilized the spa services on our most recent trip, and the couple's massage by Celia and Concepcion was skilled, soothing our sore and tired muscles from excursions. The hydrotherapy circuit added to our relaxing spa day, and the ladies there were ready to guide me through the process. Highly recommend arriving one hour in advance of any treatment to enjoy the hydrotherapy. And finally, we wanted to thank a few special staff members for their excellent service. Our local host Janet assisted us with several requests and delivered on every single one. She is not only hard-working but sweet and wants her guests to thoroughly enjoy their vacations. We also loved the professionalism and attentiveness from our waiter Fernando at Avec. "Excelente" as he frequently says.

Went for a wedding and celebrated our own anniversary as well. Beautiful rooms, great poolside service and options for pools. Highly recommend the swim up rooms if you love the pool. They made our anniversary special with roses in our room and special dessert during our dinner.

Zuleima was our local host and she was amazing. Any questions I had she could answer and any thing I needed from the resort she was very helpful in getting. We brought friends with us and have been talking about this trip for almost a year and they had even more fun than we did. The location is spectacular the food is very good and the activities and things to do or see around the resort are great. Jorge from Avec and Eduardo from 20 87 are both exceptional waiters

Zuleima was a great help during our stay, she responded to our questions and needs. We only had 2 days in hotel but enjoyed the facilities.
