UNICO 20N 87W - Riviera Maya

Visiting for the first time with my boyfriend and we’ve had a blast. The service has been amazing, especially Irlanda at the Bar Balam (the lobby bar) !! Her drinks are the best, if you want quality ask for her and her only.

Our experience at Unico 20 87 was nothing short of incredible. Every staff member we came into contact with was hospitable, welcoming, and helpful. Our local host, Emmanuel, made our stay stress free. We were able to communicate with him via text and he was always quick to respond to our questions. He also handled all our reservations for restaurants, activities, and the spa. He was always so accommodating and communicative, which we really appreciated. The food at the resort was also amazing. There were very few things (maybe 3 dishes total?) that we didn’t consider to be a 10/10. The Italian restaurant was our least favorite (6/10) but all the other restaurants were very delicious. This included room service and pool side service. Although we wish in room dining included more options, what we ordered was great! When at the pool, we were able to order from the various bars and “snack bars” surrounding them. The “snack bars” are more extensive than they sound. The menus have a variety of food that you can order poolside or sit down to eat. You can also order food while at the beach. We didn’t spend too much time at the beach because we preferred the pools, but we hope to take advantage of the beach during our next visit. The pools also had several restrooms conveniently located near each of them as well as kitchens which ensured our food was prepared and served to us quickly. These were some of the things that stood out to us when observing how thoughtfully the resort was designed. The drinks everywhere were also very delicious. Each restaurant had its own signature cocktail menu that included delicious cocktails you could tell were thoughtfully curated. Our room was regularly cleaned and most days housekeeping stopped more than once to see if we needed anything. The staff everywhere was so attentive. We ended up purchasing a membership for the Legnedary Vacation Club thanks to Emmanuel, Eric, Kimberly, Ulises, Joanna, and Herman. They helped us find a package that was tailored perfectly to our needs and would allow us to maximize our future travels. Last but not least, the spa was beautiful and the services were incredible. My husband and I both got the Rebirth (this included a facial, body scrub, and full body massage) which we thoroughly enjoyed. We enjoyed the spa so much we returned a second day where we both got deep tissue massages with volcanic stones and facials. I got the detoxifying facial which was the best facial I’ve gotten. I highly recommend visiting the spa for at least one type of treatment. Overall, we had the best experience and we cannot wait to return with our family and friends.

Tony, our concierge, went above and beyond to make our trip extraordinary. His dining recommendations—Mura House for exquisite Japanese flavors and Cueva Siete for authentic, vibrant Mexican cuisine—were absolute highlights of our stay. When we weren’t savoring those incredible meals, we enjoyed the resort’s pristine pools and relaxing spa. UNICO 20°87° is fantastic on its own, but with Tony’s guidance, it became a truly unforgettable experience.

Celebrated a bachelorette with a large group of friends. Had a wonderful time! Staff was all very friendly & accommodating. I especially appreciated Manuel, our personal guest host, we had. He was so incredibly helpful with making reservations for dinner, spa, taxis, etc. He went above and beyond to help with any questions or concerns that came up during our stay. I will be requesting him again when I return for my vacation planned in April. Also was very pleased with the daily activities & fitness instructors. Overall great experience and I’m happily awaiting my return. Thank you again everyone from Unico!

We loved Unico so much the first time that we had to make a second trip! The staff is incredibly friendly, the food and drinks are phenomenal, and the service is truly top notch. Our host was Mario, and he was always available to help with our dinner reservations, mixology classes and spa treatments, and any other questions we had. Also, if you plan to spend any time at the pools, you need to find Raymundo and sit in his section. Raymundo is the best waiter we’ve had on both of our visits - he’s great at making drink recommendations and he works extraordinarily hard to make sure that you get what you need! Thanks, Unico!
