Laura was our host! She could not have done a better job at making us feel special!! She was attentive to our every request and went above and beyond to surprise two of us who celebrated birthdays with sparkling wine, balloons and candy in our room!!She took care of all our requests with a smile and “can do” attitude! A wonderful employee ♈️ Marcos, was at poolside. He was incredibly friendly, happy and had wonderful service skills! He anticipated our every need. Josue and Diego took care of our cabana set up each day, providing chairs and fresh towels with cheerfulness. All of the poolside staff were very attentive…Connie, Luis, Lucia and Kirk just to add a few! The pool fitness instructors were FULL of energy; we enjoyed their skill and enthusiasm while keeping fit! The food and drinks were above average in most restaurants; however, there could have been more vegetarian options in a few, but most restaurants have a good selection. There were the TV issues all week, so we were unable to watch a few select airings we were counting on seeing. Some minor cosmetic upgrades in the hallway between the hotel and restaurants could use attention as well. The sales staff was pleasant enough, but generally awkward when assembling our group of 10 for a presentation. This experience could have been handled more professionally. I would say 95% of the employers seemed pleased to be working there. We all enjoyed our time at 20 87 🌴🌴

April 2025 Unico 2087 March 31 – April 12, 2025 After numerous visits to our favorite resort, Unico 2087, Riviera Maya, our sixth now since 2019 my wife and I are always impressed with the resort, staff and food. It was no different during our last visit from March 31 – April 12, 2025. Our local host Laura Flores continues to be amazing, always anticipating our needs and providing us additional information on member events, special activities to participate in and checking on us during the day to ensure we had everything we needed. We had a great members dinner on April 8th, food, entertainment was great, met some great people we had not met before. She was instrumental in getting us the room(s) we wanted and what incredible views, wow!!! Excellent job Laura, thank you for everything. (a special thanks for the “snack”).(picture included) We re-connected with Pascual, our previous host and now in sales, he checked in on us a number of times to see how we were doing. He is very personable and knowledgeable, thanks very much Pascual The service at all the restaurants was great, as was the food, this is one key reason we keep coming back to Unico 2087, is the food, it’s amazing. We are looking forward to the new additional French restaurant that is under construction, we are sure it will also be amazing. Special note for some key staff is listed below. Housekeeping was very good, and any issues we had they were quick to fix it for us. We took in three shows at the Palmera Lounge, great fun. Before retiring every evening, we stopped in at Bar Balam for a drink(s), staff there are very proactive to serve and very personable, especially Marsala and Maleyvi. Various performers providing some great music to enjoy with our refreshments. As good as everything is as mentioned above there are a few annoyances such as vaping at pool and Bar Balam with no one intervening. Hall of Famers reserving a lot of the loungers at the Legendary pool and then not showing up, need some courtesy or rules that there is a cutoff if you are a no show, so other members can use the loungers. Unico 2087 service – Mar 31 - Luciano for breakfast great (in-room dining), Antonio set up at pool, excellent, Raoul at Cueva Siete restaurant great service and recommendation when we were not sure what to order. April 1 - William at quiet pool set up, very efficient -Victor waiter at 2087 great service -Juan & Manuel at the quiet pool, bartenders, Juan hard working very helpful, Manuel helped my wife after being stung by a bee / hornet, pulled stinger out, provide ice and lime to alleviate pain and sting infection. - Jacob at Mura House - server, very attentive and proactive to our needs. April 2 - Legendary pool Alberto server, very efficient - Pedro at dinner 2087, very efficient -Waitress at Bar Balam -Maleyvi, she helped us on numerous visits to the bar, excellent service, great individual and very personable (picture included) April 3 -Santos @ Mi Carisa great waiter -Marsala 2 Bar Balam, as we walk-in she ensures we are looked after quickly - Lucia, server at legendary pool with Antonio who sets up lounge chairs & umbrellas and, Alberto server, all three very good, with Alberto being extraordinary with service and assistance. (picture included) - Jose for in-room dining breakfast helps clean balcony table and sets up everything extremely efficiently. April 4 – Pedro, waiter @ Cueva Siete for dinner, great service April 5 -Gonzalo for breakfast @ Mi Carisa, very good waiter April 11 - Irving at Mi Carisa, worked with chef to provide me a special request I had, it was delicious, very well presented, made my day, thank you Irving. Fernanda- greet person at many restaurants - great in receiving people, very pleasant always smiling very helpful. Diego was very helpful at the Legendary pool, getting towels and setting up our loungers, great service! We are looking forward to our next trip, we want to try out the new French restaurant. We are also planning on visiting the new Unico 20 105 Vallarta, pictures look amazing.

The most amazing trip!

We had our wedding at Unico and had an amazing experience. The resort is beautifully designed and kept. The food was lovely, as was the ambiance of the restaurants. Our wedding planner, Samantha, was phenomenal. She had every detail under control, and anything I was worried about was a non issue. Her organization was top notch. I cannot thank Samantha enough for her kindness and patience. My guests all raved about the wedding, and trip overall. The breakfast buffet at 2087 was SO good, we went each day, except the morning after the wedding when we were surprised with a newlywed breakfast sent to the room! Having breakfast in the soaking tub while overlooking the ocean was surreal. There is an extensive drink selection, including dozens of wonderful mocktails! The Cafe Inez coffee shop is open nearly 24 hours which was great! Be sure to book dinner reservations ahead of time through the app or via email (this was you can get a desired time and try out all of the options). Palmera lounge has live entertainment then turns into a club at 10pm which was so fun. The concierge team is great about letting you know the daily activities (dancing, ping pong, water aerobics, art classes, just to name a few). The pool has volleyball and basketball, then there are two other quieter pools. Alam and Raul were AMAZING for our pool days and ensured all of our needs (drinks, food, towels, inflatable floats) were all taken care of. We rented cabanas for $210 a piece, and that goes to a credit for bottles that can be taken home. While not necessary, it was so nice to have a shaded spot to settle. We got a couples hot stone massage which was lovely. The spa pricing is a bit insane, but with the "credits" and "discount" that apparently came with booking, it was much more reasonable. The rooms are beautifully designed, housekeeping is on their A game, the aromatherapy and in room mixology options are a nice touch. I also really enjoyed the nightly turn down service and pillow menu selections. We were gifted with our concierge, Jorge, who checked in multiple times per day to see if we needed anything/had any questions/ and to provide information about the daily happenings. He worked so hard and constantly went above and beyond. Thank you so much Jorge for making our stay unforgettable. We booked our stay with JMDestinationbyDesign who made all of this seamless. 10/10 would return.

As soon as you arrive you will be greeted by someone who wants you to take a 90 tour in return for some free stuff. DO NOT DO THIS!!! The sales people are not only extremely pushy but they will also mislead you and tell you outrageous lies to try and get you to buy what they are selling. Avoid this sales pitch at all costs. Trust me on this. When you say no, they will not leave you alone. They will call your room and they will track you down by the pool. They do their best to ruin your vacation so they can earn a commission with their high pressure and blatantly false statements. With that out of the way, I cannot say enough good things about the service staff. From the servers in all the restaurants to those bringing drinks poolside to those helping with towels and umbrellas, every single person went out of their way to provide outstanding service. For an all-inclusive property the food was surprisingly good. They had top shelf alcohol that you could request for your mixed drinks. There were several pools each with their own distinct features, such as a party pool with music, a quiet pool with a swim up bar and others that are simply relaxing. The beach area was small and loaded with seaweed. It was not very inviting but fine if you just wanted to lay on one of the many lounge chairs offered. We spent our time by the pools. The room was spacious, the thermostat worked fine, the bed pillows were excellent, but the mattress was too soft for my liking. One other complaint was although this resort is advertised as a couples resort, during my week there was a large corporate event going on. Although this had little impact during the day, it had in my opinion a negative impact at dinner time. Several nights in a row there were tables of 10 to 12 people surrounding my table for two. Although I was hoping for a romantic dinner for two, the noise coming from the large tables with people yelling across tables made it impossible to feel like we were enjoying a romantic dinner at a couples resort. The only other small negative was there were lots of areas that were reserved just for what they call Chairmen or Hall of Fame Members. These are the people who actually paid the ridiculous amount of money the sales people were asking. Even though these locations were off limits to most guests, there were still plenty of wonderful locations that everyone had access to. My final summary would be if not for the lying, high pressure sales people, this would have been a 5 star review.
