UNICO 20N 87W - Riviera Maya

We had a great week vacation at Unico. Emmanuel took care of us the entire week. We felt as if we were never told no and well pampered by the accommodations in total. We loved our Swim Out room so much, we stayed for an additional 2 nights.

Our experience at UNICO 2087 Riviera Maya would not have been the same without David! He truly made our vacation unforgettable. From salsa dancing and aerobics to snorkeling and bingo, he brought so much energy, warmth, and charisma to every activity. David is not only incredibly talented and entertaining but also kind, patient, and genuinely caring. He made every guest feel included and valued, going above and beyond to make sure we were having the best time possible. You can tell he loves what he does and it shows in every smile and every moment he creates. Honestly, I would love to have even one tenth of his energy he’s absolutely electric and, as they say here, ¡excellente! 🇲🇽✨ If it weren’t for David, our trip simply wouldn’t have been as fun or special. We sincerely hope the hotel recognizes how exceptional he is and keeps him on the team he’s a huge reason guests fall in love with UNICO 2087. Thank you, David, for making us feel so happy and taken care of! 🌴❤️

We just returned from a week in my "happy place," Unico, Riviera Maya, a delightful retreat of pampering with great cuisine, an excellent spa, and plenty of pools with cushioned seats. If you're looking for entertainment, this is not your place, but everything else is great!

The experience with David at unico 2087 was exceptional. We made bracelets and he told us about the meanings behind each colors. We also ping pong and aqua aerobics and had a blast. We will miss his infectious attitude and smile!

So let me tell about our vacation in ÚNICO and if it would be my first time in Mexico, I would say everything was great, but since it was my third time there I can compare experience in this hotel with others. So 1) the hotel itself is beautiful, looks very stylish and modern, the rooms are specious and elegant, very comfortable and since it’s 5 star hotel you get everything included, fully stocked mini bar (even Gatorade), snacks (snickers and some chips and nuts), slippers, robes, all the necessary toiletries including big tooth paste. In the evening they do turn down service and you can choose the oils for your diffuser, that was a nice touch and you get mini chocolate on your bed waiting for you after relaxing day. 2) what we didn’t like is service, workers were extremely slow, we had to wait for drinks at the pool for 30 min and it was only 4 people at the pool and no lines at the bar, it would take me 5 min to go and get it myself and it was in legendary pool. Do wanna mention Connie at the regular pool, she was the only person who made out stay welcoming, she was great. Also no people helping with chairs and umbrellas, only one time the guy helped me out. We asked to refill our fridge and had to wait 2 days for it. Turndown services were also not every night, so basically until you call them and ask, they wouldn’t do it. 3) We came as legendary and it made no sense at at all, one of the legendary pools was closed for maintenance for the entire time of our stay. Another pool was all booked with hall of fame and they never showed up so the chairs were just taken for no reason. The only good thing of legendary was the personal host, and she was great. Our host name was Melissa and she scheduled everything for us that we asked for, dinner reservations and spa, we could ask any question at any time and she was extremely helpful. 4) We were looking forward for food and drinks experience, all the reviews were telling us how extraordinary the food in this hotel is and we had the biggest disappointment. We did like Italian and regular Japanese food a lot, but the rest was just mediocre. And the french restaurant was the biggest failure. Every dish was served beautifully, but it didn’t taste as good as it looked. 5) I did love to watch Coatis, they are all over the place and it was very fun to observe them. I can continue naming other small details that we found annoying and not up to 5 star hotel standards. We came with paradise pass so the price wasn’t that bad, but if we paid the full price from the website I would be even more disappointed for what we got.
