My Husband and I really enjoyed our stay in Beloved. It is in a gated location of playa muejeres. We feel very safe and secured. The hotel is very clean and beautiful. The food is top notch and you have a lot of options. Lastly, the staff were truly amazing! They were friendly and provided us the best service.

We just returned from another unforgettable stay at The Beloved Playa Mujeres, and I can say with complete sincerity that this visit was the best one yet—something I didn’t think was even possible. We have always had wonderful experiences here, which is why we continue to return. But this time, everything felt elevated, personal, and even more magical. From the moment we arrived, we felt like VIPs. We were warmly greeted by Mex, who remembered us from our last visit. He welcomed us with tantalizingly scented cold towels and a refreshing drink, instantly reminding us why we keep coming back. He introduced us to Paola, who took such great care of us by helping us schedule hydrotherapy spa sessions, a sailing trip to Isla Mujeres, and dinner reservations—all with warmth and grace. Her attention to detail set the tone for our entire stay. The service throughout the resort was impeccable. Our housekeeping staff kept our room immaculate and left us the most delightful towel animals each day. The little touches—like always having fresh towels, tissues, and a pristine room—did not go unnoticed. We never needed to call for anything because everything was already perfectly attended to. The pillow menu was a dream come true—we loved choosing pillows that gave us the most restful sleep each night. The gym at The Beloved is another favorite of mine. For a boutique resort, it’s surprisingly large and exceptionally well-equipped, with separate rooms for weight training, TRX, boxing, and functional training. I never had to wait for equipment, and the space was always clean, stocked with cold bottled water and fresh towels. A great spot to work off all the incredible food! And speaking of food… every dining experience was top-notch. • The Bocadito taco truck served the most mouthwatering tacos—pork, beef, and chicken—all flavorful and perfectly cooked. • Le Bisou was elegant and delicious. I especially loved the tomato cream soup, chicken cordon bleu, and the rosemary crème brûlée tart (heavenly!). • We dined twice at The Lupita Steakhouse and were wowed both times. Our server Brian was kind and attentive, helping us choose dishes we’d love. The braised beef rib and chocolate lava cake with blackberry ice cream were unforgettable. • La Isla Trattoria was equally delightful. Luis Koyok delivered excellent service, and the risotto croquettes, bruschetta, and Gorgonzola chicken were divine. Even our last meal—pizza and gelato for lunch—was a perfect ending to our stay. • Mornings at Le Bisou were a highlight. Custom omelettes, delicious buffet options, and once a special treat from the chef: chocolate-strawberry waffles and French toast! Luis and Christian made our mornings feel extra special with their top-notch service. Even our in-room breakfast was a treat—the fruit plate was especially fresh and delicious. Don’t miss El Caffetto Bar! It’s a hidden gem with iced coffees, juices, gelato, and desserts like the mango cheesecake that was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. One of the most indulgent and rejuvenating parts of our stay was the hydrotherapy at the spa. We looked forward to it each day. Our spa guides (Regina, Gustavo, Zuri, and others whose names I wish I could remember!) made every visit feel like a personal retreat. The space was spotless and tranquil. Our massages with Viridiana and Naomi were so blissful that we immediately rebooked for another session. Absolute perfection. Our romantic dinner on the beach was a standout moment during our stay and a memory we’ll cherish forever. We were seated at the loveliest table, just steps from the ocean, with twinkling lights, a breathtaking view, and the sound of the waves as our soundtrack. The food was exceptional and beautifully presented, but what truly elevated the evening was our server—his service was gracious, attentive, and made us feel like the most important guests at the resort. It was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary—magical, intimate, and completely unforgettable. The beach concierge service was another highlight. Denisse greeted us like old friends, and Cinthia even made me a beautiful bracelet while letting me practice my Spanish. Benito and Oscar brought us food and drinks with genuine warmth and hospitality that made us feel like royalty. Every single member of the staff deserves a round of applause. They made us feel seen, valued, and pampered at every turn. From start to finish, our experience was flawless. We left relaxed, refreshed, and already dreaming of our return. Whether you’re in a standard suite or the penthouse, The Beloved Playa Mujeres delivers consistently unmatched service and care. If you want a place that feels like paradise, with unparalleled hospitality, thoughtful details, and an atmosphere of complete relaxation—The Beloved is it. We can’t wait to come back.

We just got back from our 8th stay at Beloved (July 6-12). There have been many changes (staff and menu changes) since our last visit in October 2024. Front desk: We received a warm welcome home as we arrived. While some faces were missing (Grecia, Christian, Brandon), it was very nice to see Paola at the front desk who gave us a warm and friendly welcome home. She introduced us to Fernanda the Front Desk Manager (she’s great by the way). Alexander the Guest Services Manager was excellent! He introduced himself to us early during our stay and checked in with us daily. He was very attentive and is an excellent addition to Beloved! It was very nice to see Andrea the General Manager making rounds every day. She checked in with us on our second day and was most accommodating! Room: We booked a Junior Suite and were assigned Room 210. This room has a large king bed (it is actually two twins pushed together). We did not care for the bed as I found myself in the crack of the two beds in the morning. We mentioned it to Andrea on our second day and she gladly offered to check if another room was available. We did a room change on our second day and were assigned Room 225. Mex was very helpful with moving our bags. The AC was very cold. This July was not as hot as previous years so that may be a factor. No issues with our new room. While it can be considered dated, we are looking forward to renovations to start later in the year (we were told August). Mini bar and snacks: I would love to be able to get a bottle of Havana Club 7 for the room. I don’t drink anything else in the room, but I do love a rum and coke watching the sun come up. We were pleasantly surprised to see Sabritas Adobadas in the room! We LOVE Sabritas. Doritos (Mexico’s version with Exceso Calorias printed on the bag) would be a great addition! We also LOVED the Hershey’s with almonds. Chiquito: Chiquito is the name we have given to the palm tree that was located in the middle of the path located in front of Le Bisou and the swings. We have taken a picture of this tree every trip and we needed a current picture for our trip. My wife spoke with Jorge (one of the landscapers) who was able to guide us to where Chiquito is now living. Chiquito has been moved to the side of Le Bisou where he is doing much better and looks very healthy! Beach: AMAZING! The best we have seen since we started visiting the area in October 2020. Last year a lot of the beach was washed away from the many storms and hurricanes that have hit the area. They have backfilled the beach with new sand and graded/sloped it all the way down to the sea. They have also removed sea grass from the sea floor. The sea grass has been partially removed all the way from La Amada down to Finest. In previous years, there were pockets in the sea where you could get in. Now it is wide open clear and the sea is about 4.5-5’ deep before encountering sea grass. Some of the loungers and palapas are in need of repair and hopefully this will be addressed as part of the upcoming renovations. Beach Concierges: Denise and Fabiola make a great team! Both were most helpful with getting our palapas set up in the morning. We LOVED the Happy Birthday towel art. So thoughtful and a wonderful surprise! We loved the coolness and smell of the fresh towels that were handed out around lunch time. Food: Quality of food ranged from poor to excellent (poor, fair, good, very good, excellent scale). That being said, most of the food quality was in the good – excellent ratings. AC in the restaurants seemed to be working better than previous July stays. Temperatures were also not as hot so that may be a factor. El Mar: Our first lunch of the week was at El Mar. I had the ½ grilled chicken and it was fair. No seasoning and extremely oily. This was very disappointing being our first meal of the trip. The octopus aguachile was excellent. Loved the serrano spice! Our dinner at El Mar was very good. The Vietnamese roll was fair to good. The crispy shrimp was fair to good. It was more of a tempura shrimp and was very bland. The coconut sauce had a mild coconut flavor to it. The tuna mignon was fair to good. It was wrapped in bacon and it overpowered the tuna. It tasted like ham. The grilled lobster was excellent. Good flavor and good sized portion. We did have lunch at El Mar later in the week. I ordered the ½ grilled chicken again. It was good. Cooked better; less oil and slightly crispy on the outside the way I like it. It still lacked the seasoning. Lupita Steakhouse: Our first dinner was at Lupita as we’ve always enjoyed the food there. This meal was the worst meal we’ve ever had at Lupita. I ordered the Kansas steak and it was charred (burnt hard on the ends). No seasoning and oily. For sides I ordered mashed potatoes and asparagus. Both were poor. The mashed potatoes and asparagus had no seasoning. Both appeared to have been sitting under a heat lamp for a long period of time. The next morning Andrea greeted us on the beach and asked how our first day was. We voiced our concerns about the food quality and our disappointing meal at Lupita. Josue (Restaurant Manager) met with us the following day to discuss our concerns about our meal. He asked us what we missed on the old menu and invited us back to Lupita for another dinner. Our second dinner at Lupita was excellent! The smoked watermelon tiradito and marrow and ribeye were excellent! Lots of flavor! For entrees we were surprised with our favorites from the old menu. I had the tenderloin with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables and my wife had a chicken flauta. All of these were excellent. My wife said it was the best chicken flauta she has ever had. NOTE: these menu items were prepared for us at the discretion of Josue to correct the poor meal we had earlier in the week. Do not try to order these items and then be disappointed when they are not available. Room for improvements: We would LOVE to see a fish option and a chicken option on the menu. We would LOVE to see some of the old sides brought back (grilled vegetables, mashed potatoes, mushrooms). I would LOVE to see the tenderloin back on the menu. Lupita Mexican Night (Cocino de Humo): I loved the grilled shrimp. The chile guero was excellent. Great flavor and spice! I did not care for the mole; too thick and pasty. We loved the rabbit enchiladas (the sauce was excellent with spice) and the sea bass. The taste of the rabbit was a combination of chicken and turkey. The ribeye was very good. I did not care for the flavor of the lamb barbecue. I was happy to see Tres Leches on the menu. It was excellent! It had a perfect amount of milk so it wasn’t soggy or too dry. Sushi: We were so happy to see Chef Jesus back! Chef Jesus was the sushi chef in July 2021 and was gone for a couple of years. We really enjoyed the sushi! It was very good to excellent. We had him surprise us with his best offerings. We told him what we liked and what we didn’t like and he did not disappoint! The Asian Mixed Ceviche was excellent! Lots of flavor and some spice! Bocadito: Tacos were good. Too much green sauce on the tacos. Would love to see the meat charred a little for flavor. Loved that spicy sauce was an option. The last time I was a huge fan of the taco truck was when Donaldo was the Chef. It hasn’t been the same since. La Isla: For lunch I had the salmon skewer. It was good to very good. Slightly different than what was served on previous trips. We saw Jorge (aka Jibran) at La Isla and he said he was now working here. After our bad experience at Lupita we decided to change things up and give La Isla a try. Jorge was surprised to see us as we told him we usually skip La Isla. This meal was EXCELLENT! It has replaced Lupita as my new favorite place to eat. We loved the Vitello Tonnato, fettuccine al cartoccio, and fried lamb. The fried lamb is parmesan crusted. Absolutely wonderful! Special thanks to Jorge, our server Luis Koyoc and hostess Abigail for making this a special dinner for us! Le Bisou: The breakfast buffet was very good to excellent. Options were scaled back compared to our previous stay in October 2024. We loved the halves of mango that were prepared! We eat mostly fruit and there is a wide variety every day. The pan dulce (concha’s) were hit and miss. Excellent on the first day with a soft, sweet flavor of the bread. The rest of the week they were not as fluffy and sweet. The baby potatoes were excellent! Well seasoned! I was glad to see bacon and turkey sausage still available for hot items. The French toast on the buffet was excellent. Made to order crepes were very good to excellent. Green juice was very good to excellent. We did not eat here for dinner. Not a fan of French cuisine. Beach Snacks: We loved ordering food on the beach. French fries, wings, and hot dog were excellent! I do wish cheese fingers were available on the beach snacks menu. PLEASE ADD THIS ITEM. PLEASE? Service: Overall service was very good. Luis took excellent care of us on the beach. Fernando took excellent care of us at Lupita Lounge. Genny was fantastic! We loved our animal farm! Drinks: Drinks were good to excellent. I enjoyed frozen mango margaritas on the beach (good to very good). Hugo was working at La Isla bar and made an excellent pepino margarita. Pascual was working at La Isla bar in the evening and made excellent mezcal cocktails. Artemio at the lobby bar made excellent mango margaritas. Juan at the lobby bar makes an excellent paloma (very light, crisp, and refreshing)! Spa: Hydrotherapy was very good. It is too short and I would like to see some of the other stations added back in. The Diamond Ritual massage was excellent. We LOVED the chocolate covered strawberries after our Diamond Ritual! Fantastic addition! Entertainment. We loved listening to Claudia. The magician was excellent and the liquid show was very good. We would love to see an acoustic rock band added to the lineup. We were sad that our favorite violinist did not play at the pool (Oscar). Vibe: Very relaxing and chill. No large groups or groups of 6. A few groups of 4, but minimal disruption throughout the week. It was a quiet week as the resort was at around 70% capacity. Visitax: we paid it via the government site ($15 USD). We were not asked about it at the airport. Even though we had a rocky first 24 hours, things quickly turned around. Overall, we were pleased with our experience and look forward to returning for another stay.

This was our second time visiting this amazing resort. We were last here 8 years ago and while some things have changed, many remained the same. First, the rooms - I understand that people have said that the rooms are outdated, however, I find the rooms to be comfortable, clean and very well maintained - no issues. The restaurants - there are 4 that are open for dinner over varying nights and we always found something that we liked/loved. I would have to say the desserts at the cafe are much better than the restaurants so it became a nightly routine to have dessert and coffee there. The beach was good, very little seaweed while we were there. I think what makes this resort special are the people who work there - Marisol, who does the entertainment/crafts - she is a doll and everyone should meet her. Luis, our beach server who worked tirelessly to ensure our time was comfortable. Our beach concierge, her name escapes me was also amazing. Plus the guests - what can be said. It is not a party atmosphere, everyone there is like minded couples with the intent on reconnecting with your partner. We had some of the best times talking and spending time with other couples!! We cannot wait until our next trip and will not wait 8 years

We have been to all of the Excellence properties (in Mexico, DR, and Jamaica), and we are enthusiastic fans of the brand. We just finally tried Beloved for an anniversary celebration trip. First off, the resort is absolutely lovely. The vibe is even more chill and relaxing than the other Excellence properties. The beach is gorgeous. We stayed in a beachfront casita (Consentida 2) and loved being able to move easily between the beach and our private pool. As with all of the Excellence properties, the best thing about this resort is the staff. Everyone we encountered was genuinely warm and invested in making sure our needs were met. I’m always reluctant to name specific employees because I’m invariably forgetting some, but I’ll venture to say that Alexander, the guest services manager, was terrific. He was responsive without being intrusive. He was personable, fun, and professional. Ricardo and Brenda at El Mar were also terrific. Brenda was attentive as we encountered her over several dinners. Over breakfast, I especially appreciated Ricardo’s taking the time to converse with me in Spanish, and my Spanish is still pretty slow. Cinthya, a trainee working on the activities team, was enthusiastic and sweet. Antonio delivered endless drinks, food, and smiles to our patio. I know I’m missing some extraordinary people who deserve recognition. The truth is that at every turn, we encountered employees whose kindness and hard work made our vacation perfect. Our room was super comfortable. The beds are great. I’m not sure which I loved more, the firm, comfy mattress or seeing palm trees and the sea from my bed. The air conditioner worked well and had no trouble keeping up with the 90 degree outside temps. Great water pressure in the showers too. All these ‘little’ things add up to a very restful, pampered experience. We didn’t spend much time in the main pool, but it was a fun place to socialize late in the day. There were plenty of chairs and towels at all the pools and on the beach. No chair game at this resort. I loved the taco truck, Bocadito, for a quick easy lunch bite. Maggie’s tacos were delicious, and she customized orders to our preference. On the subject of food, Beloved was similar to other Excellence properties in that the meals were hit or miss. We had lobster at El Mar one night and it was small and overdone. We gave it another try a few nights later, and it was plump and flavorful. Our favorite meal was the special Mexican menu (on Wednesday nights). We wish that menu were available more nights. There are four restaurants, three of which are open each night. We try to avoid lots of red meat, so the steak house was ruled out for us. This meant that with the meals being hit or miss, we didn’t have a lot of options if we weren’t happy with a meal. We always found decent options, but this is an area where one of the larger properties better met our needs. On the larger properties (Coral, EPM, etc), if we didn’t love a meal, we had lots of other choices on our remaining nights. At Beloved, our choices were more limited. That said, we did find some gems. We had a seafood chowder that was extraordinary. The mussels at Isla were perfect. Most of the appetizers were good. There were several salmon dishes that we enjoyed. Breakfasts were great with traditional American options as well as Mexican favorites. At Le Bisou, you can order from the menu or enjoy the breakfast buffet if you want to start your day more quickly. We enjoyed having both outside (El Mar) and inside air conditioned (Le Bisou) options. We ate breakfast outside at El Mar most days because we enjoyed the breeze coming off the water and the incredible view. In the entertainment department, we did not see every show over our ten-day stay, but we caught quite a few. The circus/acrobat act was impressive. Some of the musical performances were mediocre. Claudia Treviño is an amazing outlier. Her voice is extraordinary. Her trio is terrific. It was a joy to experience such excellent musicianship. If you’re there on a Thursday evening, do not miss these amazing musicians. The space allotted for the shows is simply way too small. It is a lovely outdoor setting, but there are literally ten seats from which you can see the area where the entertainers perform. There is no stage. There is peripheral seating, but it has plants and things blocking the site lines. On rainy nights, the entertainment moves inside to another equally cramped space. The resort is definitely designed more for relaxation and connecting as a couple than for entertainment, and it feels a bit as though entertainment was an afterthought. This resort is a great fit if you want a totally relaxing, pampered, chill vibe. While we had a great experience, and don’t rule out a return stay, we lean toward Excellence Playa Mujeres or Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres because on these larger properties, we could easily duck away from activities that didn’t interest us and find tranquility, but at times when we felt like a more active bar, livelier entertainment, and more restaurant options, they were there for us.

Please do yourself a favor and go to this resort! I had the most beautiful time with my partner in January. The wait staff was incredibly nice and greeted us with a smile and a yes to every request. We had the opportunity to go to Tulum, and the Xel-Ha, parasailing and jet skiing, we ate the most fantastic meals on a beach bed right next to the water. It was the easiest and most pleasant vacation and gave true meaning to the word luxury. It was not pretentious and the guest coordinator (and every single one of the waitstaff!!) made sure we were having fun every step of the way.
