Beloved Playa Mujeres

Loved Beloved!! Stayed in a 2 story casita with a plunge pool which was amazing with breathtaking views. The restaurants had great food. The staff, not sure I can say enough about the staff, they go above and beyond for sure. We are already planning our next trip back!

Just saw the renovations made to the Penthouse Suites and the first word that came to mind was disappointment. Not only did they take away the full kitchen which included a full sized refrigerator, yes we use it regularly during our stays, but they also removed the dining room table and chairs and bar area. Where does Beloved Playa Mujeres expect their guests to sit and eat when they order room service, where do they expect their guests to keep their dessert/cold food chilled while they’re eating their main course??? They also removed the splash option from the plunge pool, another feature we enjoyed using. They took away the butler service last year and many menu options and now they’re taking away more amenities and conveniences that we’ve come to expect and pay for. Renovations were greatly needed, but they should include upgrades, not losing things or downgrading. The mini fridge is practically useless and a huge downgrade to have in a PH that has more than enough room to accommodate the original set up that we’ve used, expected and loved since coming here for close to 10 years; at times twice a year. Taking away the solid door and replacing it with a louvre door; another downgrade in my opinion. How about updating the bathroom and shower doors to allow more privacy?? These upgrades just make no sense to me?!?! We have several reservations booked for 2026, but seeing what they’ve done and taken away is making us rethink our options. When paying PH prices, we should have PH amenities; amenities that were available at the time we booked our reservations. Will we be getting refunded or compensated in anyway for the lack of these amenities ~ of course not. We decided to upgrade from initially booking a casita to the PH for many of the options that have now been removed. It just makes no sense to me and honestly makes me sad and disappointed as a long time, loyal guest to the Excellence Collection. The only positive is the wonderful staff, but even some of them have left on their own, been moved to other properties or were let go.

First time at this resort. Building two and pool were closed for renovation. We had a room in bldg 3 and were quite pleased. We go to Cancun twice a year. The beach was a lovely white sand. There was plenty of seating on the beach with shade. Our beach waiter, Benito, was our favorite employee. We were a little disappointed in the food and only 2 restaurants open each night we were there. I would consider returning once all the renovations of total property are done as we did like the laid back atmosphere. I would prefer more privacy as far as shower area.

On our 1st visit to Beloved in January, we felt we did not get the best of what the resort had to offer due to the inclement weather. On this trip, our 2nd visit this year we had great weather and felt the true excellent ambiance of the resort and the staff. Beloved offers a wonderful, intimate, and EXCELLENT experience with great food, excellent service, and a friendly staff. The ENTERTAINMENT was great with an intimate environment either in the bar/lobby area or in the beautiful covered/outdoor garden area – Gracias Axel!!. The Management staff, led by Senorita Andrea Ruiz, is sooo warm and genuine and her staff is pleasant, smiling, and helpful. The F & B Manager – Williams Ramirez – is ever present, and the Concierges/Guest Services staffers - Fernanda (Ms. “Neutral”) and Paola – make all the guests feel special. Many staff to acknowledge – the Restaurant Hostesses – Viridiana, Vanya, Joceline, Citiali all very pleasant, and the Restaurant Supervisors - Alberto, Josue, Martha. It was good to see Ramon again – while he was working Room Service. The Sommelier Lorenzo was fantastic, and working with him on wine selections was fun and our interaction was great! The Bar Staff – Juan, Carlos, Pasqual and Antonio – did a great job and fun to be with! The Bellmen – Mex (who is everywhere and sooo friendly), Juan Carlos and Carlos all helped transport me back and forth to tennis – Gracias!! Christina at Caffetto - such a delight – always with a great smile and serving up delicious coffees and treats! The Beach Concierges – Fabiola and Denise – remembered our lounges and had them ready for us when we arrived on the beautiful beach! The Food was great and we enjoyed every meal – including the tacos at the Bocadito Food “Truck”; thanks to Chefs Raul, Jesus (at the Sushi Bar), Jose, and Antonio. The Wait Staff including Christian, Cirilo, Trejo, Ana, Jaime, Carlos and all the rest made us feel like “familia”. Our Housekeeper Rocio kept our room neat and full of “surprises”! No comparison. For the price, quality and service - - this is the resort to beat for the area. This is an Excellence Resort and they are just finishing up on renovations. I can't wait to go back.
