The beloved exceeded our expectations. It was truly a resort with peace and luxury in mind. My husband and I did research prior to our stay but were still blown away at how amazing it was! The staff is so nice, rooms clean and spacious, and the food (aside from room service food which was ehh) was amazing. It's a smaller resort with 109 rooms which meant we never felt crowded or rushed and never had to wait for a restaurant seat. Truly a relaxing and beautiful experience, we will definitely be coming back!

Our stay August 5-12 was overall positive. The quality of food is excellent. The beach amazing! Alex at the beach, and Juan at the lobby bar made our stay much more enjoyable. Too quiet if you are looking for a place with some music and/or dancing to enjoy. Also, if you plan to meet with other couples to vacay together, this may not be the place for you, their restaurants and beach sitting arrangements are for couples only. We were fortunate to sit together with other two couples (family members) for breakfast and dinner only after Andrea (hotel’s GM) graciously helped us arrange for this special request. Thank you very much Andrea!!! In a nutshell we must say that, comparing with a large number of high end hotels we have stayed at in Cancun and surrounding areas during the last 30 years, the Beloved did exceed our expectations in all the aspects you may look for in a memorable vacation.

This is a beautiful, boutique style resort with only 109 suites, ranging from swim ups, two story casitas, ocean front suites, suites with plunge pools and junior suites There is no leveling up, as everyone receives the same excellent customer service, no matter what room category you are in. It is a couples only resort-no weddings, large groups. No towel games, loud party goers, or dining reservations needed. The hotel set up our transportation via Seasons (round trip), which was wonderful. Private, air-conditioned SUV—very comfortable. Get a cocktail outside the airport bar before hopping into their vehicle for your 45-minute ride to the resort. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Christian at the entrance to the amazing smelling lobby who prepared a wonderful cocktail for us. Many of the employees have been with the hotel for a long time 6, 10 or 16 years That is a testament to both the hotel and the Excellence brand. The rooms are scheduled for an upgrade this year. We stayed in an ocean view terrace suite with plunge pool. When we return, I think we will stay in a swim up. They looked great and the set up is beautiful. They really could use some updating, from the décor, USB and electrical outlets, lighting, peeling paint in the plunge pools, the ‘caulking’ on some of the repaired lounge beds on the patios, etc. Room service is 24 hours and its quick and efficient with a varied menu. There are full size bottles of alcohol in your room, in addition to some cold mini bottles of wine, soda and snacks in the small fridge/it’s restocked every day There is a Nespresso maker in the room for those of us who need coffee upon eyes opening. Housekeeping and evening turn down service daily. Plenty of towels (the ones in the room are soft, but the ones near the pool could use some Downey fabric softener!) Rain shower is fantastic with plenty of hot water. A/C works great. Pools and Beach Main pool with swim up bar is great. Great service and they will make any cocktail you desire. The fountain features that run along the perimeter of ALL the pools in the resort seems to be a bit of a hazard—and for anyone that may imbibe too much or have any ambulation issues/visual deficits, this could be an accident waiting to happen. There are plenty of lounge beds with umbrellas around both the main pool and the swim up pool area (guests are welcome to use them as well) There is drink service both at the main pool and swim ups. The beach is lovely, with minimal seaweed and no big waves. There are plenty of palapa shaded beach beds, loungers I saw zero towel games being played both near the pools and beach—which is incredible and very welcomed! There is a schedule of daily activities listed on the Beloved app (download onto your phone ahead of your trip) We made ceviche, Mojitos –there were other activities offered from jewelry making to sip and paint. Beach snacks were great, especially the fish tacos. Drinks are great and the servers, beach concierge were fabulous. Restaurants: The music playlist in the restaurant needs updating. I constantly felt like I was in the Disney movie, Ratatouille. Adorning the dining tables with mini-LED lamps for dining tables Le Bisou and Lupita would add to the ambiance. Bocadito Taco Truck (by far, our favorite meal—sorry but true!) We ate tacos Al Pastor every single day and really looked forward to them. They are served authentic, in double corn tortillas, that are warmed, and topped with pico de gallo, avocado crema, etc. Amazing. It’s located by the swim up pools, near Caffeto Bar Cafetto Bar—great for ice cream, iced coffees/americano’s and pastry La Isla—our favorite. It’s located above the pool area. Great Italian food. The Ceasar salad was great. El Mar- Meh. Not bad, not great. Lupita Steak House- Good, not fantastic. The Mexican night was our favorite. Steaks are good otherwise, but like many AI’s, they tend to ‘Gild the Lily” with unnecessary adornments and decorations/strange presentations and flavor profiles. Le Bisou-Great for breakfast (has both buffet and ala carte). Dinner was a huge miss for us. Side vegetable for the Chicken Cordon Bleu was raw carrot and zucchini balls that were cited as ‘caramelized’ Of note, they often will rotate the restaurants and have one or more closed for dinner, depending on how full the hotel is. While I understand the rationale (staffing, etc), it really hampers your dining experience when there are only four main restaurants (aside from the Sushi Bar near Lupita) in the resort itself to have dinner at. If you have this small number of restaurants, the food should be incredible. Alas, this was not the case for Beloved. With just a few changes and consistency across all of the restaurants, it could be. Sushi and Ceviche Bar: excellent sushi, sashimi, maki rolls and ceviche. The hours should be changed to earlier in the day, as it’s not really suited for dinner, even though the hours are the same as the dinner restaurants. They should promote this more and have Sake cocktails offered. Having it open from say, 12-6 would be a great place for guests checking into the hotel to grab a drink and have a light meal while their room is getting ready. It would also offer a pre-game place to have a light snack and a glass of bubbly before dinner reservations later that evening and be an alternative to the usual lunch fare offered near the beach and the taco truck. I will be curious to see if there is a detailed reply from management who handles these reviews, as I have seen mostly formulaic/ChatGPT replies from Guest Services / Front Office at Beloved Playa Mujeres From my understanding, the social media accounts are handled outside of Mexico, and they are not on site at the hotel (which has obvious limitations in understanding what the reviewer is writing) Lobby Bar Hit or miss with cocktails. Some evenings were fantastic and other evenings were not. One thing that was a little disturbing, is when I asked for a Lemon Drop martini (I heard the lobby bar made a great one) When it was served, I noted that it tasted like water. I returned it, ordered a Cosmopolitan, only to see the same bartender (who will remain nameless) add water from a plastic water bottle to my cocktail shaker. Mystery solved. A fellow guest experienced the same thing, as she commented to me afterwards, after overhearing me comment on the ‘watery’ description. We were there approaching closing time, so perhaps this is the rationale used in adding water, but it’s not okay. This resort is a more upscale experience, so this seems very off to me. I did mention this to another bartender on our departure day. Lobby Bar/Lupita Lounge Entertainment Claudia Trevino was just amazing—so talented. The way she handled a drunk guest was the epitome of classy. Her voice is just fantastic. The other entertainment was great as well. Of note, the hotel has no straws, which is great in the effort in keeping the environment clean. Management should consider adding a complimentary reuseable stainless steel water bottles with the 'Beloved' inscribed and adding 'potable water' filling stations around the resort. Not only would this add to the eco-friendly mission, but it would also be a wonderful memento for their guests. I have one from a resort in Aruba, and we still use it at home all the time. I would be remiss if I did not mention the following individuals who made our stay the absolute most relaxing and memorable vacation: (apologies if I missed anyone) Joceline☆ Axcel ☆ Omar Luis Pacheco☆ Elias Christian /Lobby check in Brenda Lagunes Franklin (Bocadito)☆ Magdali Alex ☆/la piscina, cafetto Alberto Benito/la playa Pascual/bartender Lobby Cynthia/trainee Beach activities Hugo/La Isla Andrea Ruiz

Please do yourself a favor and go to this resort! I had the most beautiful time with my partner in January. The wait staff was incredibly nice and greeted us with a smile and a yes to every request. We had the opportunity to go to Tulum, and the Xel-Ha, parasailing and jet skiing, we ate the most fantastic meals on a beach bed right next to the water. It was the easiest and most pleasant vacation and gave true meaning to the word luxury. It was not pretentious and the guest coordinator (and every single one of the waitstaff!!) made sure we were having fun every step of the way.
