3rd Visit

This was our third visit and it was as fantastic as always. The staff is kind and considerate. They are friendly without being overbearing. This was the first time we do activities and Rodrigo was the best!

Seventh visit to Beloved!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 16 hours ago

Loved every moment! We were in the Penthouse #140 room. What a treat. Great views and lovely patio/deck. The remodeling included upgrading the lighting controls and a lot more outlets, which was great. Also appreciated the new card scan key and the red/green light buttons for service / do-not-disturb. Wish the mini fridge were bigger. My husband is a big breakfast person, and he dreams of his Le Bisou eggs Benedict and pastries when we are not there. I especially enjoy the El Mar breakfast at the beach. Love the new beach chair layout. Double-padded loungers and a regular beach chair at each palapa. Really great! The spa was great. The only activity we did was the guacamole-making class, and it was really fun. Axcel, the entertainment lead, did a great job. After making guac, we went over to the taco truck and used it for our condiment! I am always amazed by the people! Excellence/Beloved is so great at retaining its great staff. All our friends were there: Paola and Jacqueline at the front Desk, Alex the GSM, Denisse and Fabiola beach Concierges, Oscar and Alex beach servers, servers Jaime, Christian, Trejo, Brenda, Alfonso, Luis, Marco, and Mishelle. Juan and Alberto at the Lobby bar, Elvis at Lupita Lounge. Hostesses Abigail and Karina. It was also nice seeing Jebran. All lovely people! I am gluten-free, and all my food was awesome. We loved the special Mexican menu for Wednesday night at Lupita. I was thrilled that they had gluten-free cakes at Caffeto each night, so if there was no GF dessert at a restaurant (which happens often), we would stop by there and take our treats to Lupita Lounge to watch the entertainment. Jaime at the taco truck was able to make me GF tacos, which made me very happy. The menus have been reduced a bit, but we were there for 9 nights and had very few repeats (except our favorites!). We’ll be back again next year.

Another wonderful vacation at Beloved

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 16 hours ago

We returned to Beloved for our 6th time. Obviously we love it there and decided to stay for 10 days this time. We were very pleased with the renovations and stayed in a lovey room in Building 3. The weather was great and everything on the property was well tended and pristine as usual. One concern that many reviews mentioned was the limited menus. We found the same thing, but what surprised us the most was that some of our favorite options were no longer served. It seemed amazing to us that popular favorites like guacamole & chips or ceviche were no longer served at lunch. The other thing that seemed very odd was that you could order nachos or a quesadilla on the beach, but not at either restaurant for lunch. We love Mexican food and would have preferred to have it be more available. The dinner menus are also limited and some of our old favorites were no longer available. Breakfast was great, as usual. Our hostess, Karina, in Le Mar actually arranged for us to have the shrimp ceviche and aguachile one day, which was appreciated. I hope the menu choices improve in the future. Service was always great everywhere we went and the cocktails were delicious. The table wine was also absolutely fine! We enjoyed the entertainment, but missed Marisol, the entertainment coordinator who is no longer at Beloved. She was great at getting people to participate in different activities. She also did a wonderful job introducing the different performers, which is a nice thing to do since they all work so hard. If I didn't check the app to see what was going on, I wouldn't have known about various activities or performers. I hope the last few comments are taken in the spirit intended...that of improving things to the level that past customers were so used to at Beloved. As previously stated, we love it there and will return. The quiet, relaxed atmosphere cannot be beat!

A peaceful return - still special 10 years on but with a few areas to improve

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We returned to Beloved Playa Mujeres 10 years after our first visit, and it was lovely to be back somewhere that still feels so calm, relaxing and genuinely special. The peaceful, adults-only vibe is still one of the biggest highlights. It’s perfect if you want to properly switch off. The facilities are excellent, beautifully maintained, and never feels overcrowded. What really makes this place, though, is the staff — every single person we encountered was friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are well appointed and a great size - we liked the renovated Honeymoon Suites. That said, we did feel the food was a bit mixed this time. The French restaurant and the Steakhouse were consistently very good and definitely stood out. Breakfast was also strong, with plenty of choice and good quality throughout. However, some of the other restaurants didn’t quite match that standard. One of the biggest disappointments for us was the lack of a dedicated Mexican restaurant — it feels like a missed opportunity when you’re in Mexico! We also felt lunch could be improved by offering some lighter non à la carte options, as the current choices felt a bit too heavy for daytime. That said, the taco truck was a great addition and a real highlight. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to go in the sea due to significant seaweed, which we understand is a wider issue in the region but still impacted our experience. We also looked into hiring a car to explore a bit more, but the options available through the hotel were extremely expensive, which left us feeling a bit restricted to the resort. Overall, we still had a wonderful stay and it remains a very special place for a relaxing getaway. With a few tweaks — particularly around food variety and flexibility — it could easily be exceptional again.

Please do yourself a favor and go to this resort! I had the most beautiful time with my partner in January. The wait staff was incredibly nice and greeted us with a smile and a yes to every request. We had the opportunity to go to Tulum, and the Xel-Ha, parasailing and jet skiing, we ate the most fantastic meals on a beach bed right next to the water. It was the easiest and most pleasant vacation and gave true meaning to the word luxury. It was not pretentious and the guest coordinator (and every single one of the waitstaff!!) made sure we were having fun every step of the way.
