This is our new favorite spot we’ve been to. The staff is exceptional. Anything wet needed they did for us. We did a fishing trip and left the resort at 6:30 am. The day before we told them about the trip and they had breakfast and lunch packed for us. We can’t say enough great things. We already planned a return trip for October✌️

Our visit coincided with the cartel incidents, so let me start by saying how professional the front end staff were during a stressful time for all. The staff had to overnight at the property away from their families while tending to the needs of guests. Our stay was for 7 days, 2 of which were in a lockdown. Things changed for a couple of days…understandably, the food, service timings and atmosphere, so I won’t have that impact my comments. The resort is a well managed property. You can see it from all the points of guest contact, including the check in to the service and staffing levels. Although I had requested a king bed three times prior to arrival and was assured a note was on file, our master suite plus had 2 doubles which was disappointing. A double check revealed it couldn’t be changed…this was about the only hiccup. The food in the main restaurant was very good, especially the seafood. The Wine was plentiful and the desserts were solid. Breakfast very good, although allow more time for service. We had room service once and it arrived on time and nicely presented. We never had an issue getting pool space, so no need to reserve your lounger at 7am. The service was fantastic, whether you needed a towel, umbrella or a drink. The Tao Beach Club was where we gravitated for several meals. It is intimate, a very short walk (easier than a shuttle wait) and we found the food presentations and menu variations fantastic. Very fresh too. The service team there worked so well together that we enjoyed the interactions more than the larger resort dining room. Highly recommend. One surprise were the red flags everyday which prevented us from a swim in the ocean. The waters didn’t seem too bad, but with no lifeguards to be seen, I imagined those flags were up most days. The beach is a little rocky in parts and your beach walk will have you appreciate how intimate and perfect the Tao Club is compared to the massive neighboring hotels. My wife signed up for yoga and she had a private session as no one else attended. The fact it wasn’t cancelled was appreciated. I guess the final comments would about the property. It is spotless, both in the common areas, the rooms and the gardens. The atmosphere is peaceful, so you need to accept that and if you think it may be too quiet, and that isn’t your thing, well…it is quiet. Especially after the shut down incident, the resort occupancy was quite different from when we arrived. The vibe is different with so few people in and around the pool, restaurants etc. The Aqua Bar music is quieter and it feels much different than with a bit more hustle and bustle when more people are there. All in all, a well run resort that works hard to maintain their reputation. Having worked in hospitality for years, that isn’t an easy thing to do. Casa Velas has a head start in the caring people they have hired and trained to deliver memorable experiences for their guests.

We just got back from Casa Velas and we’re already talking about our next trip back. That says everything. The property itself is stunning, peaceful, scenic, and tucked away in a way that makes you completely exhale the second you arrive. Lush greenery everywhere, koi fish swimming through the ponds, iguanas sunning themselves, and beautiful birds all around the grounds. It feels intimate and calm, almost like a private sanctuary. The entire staff was incredible, genuinely kind, warm, and attentive across the board. From the moment we checked in, we felt taken care of. The front desk team even organized a whale watching tour for us directly from the hotel on our last day, which made everything seamless and stress free. The pool bar team truly made our stay unforgettable. Avalos is an absolute legend. Hilarious, charismatic, and always keeping everyone smiling. Every afternoon at the pool turned into a highlight because of him. On top of that, his cocktails were flawless, balanced, creative, and impossible to stop ordering. Ulises was so kind and attentive, always sweet and thoughtful in the way he checked in on us. He remembered our preferences and made us feel completely at ease. His service felt genuine, never forced, just naturally caring. And Ramón was amazing. Calm, professional, and incredibly skilled behind the bar. His drinks were next level, beautifully crafted and consistently perfect. You could tell he takes real pride in what he does. Between the three of them, the pool bar became our favourite spot on the property. The restaurant was outstanding, especially the ribeye lasagna, which we’re still talking about. Every meal felt elevated but still comforting. Room service was just as impressive, fast, fresh, and beautifully presented. Casa Velas strikes that rare balance of luxury without pretension. Adults only, peaceful, and thoughtfully run. We left feeling relaxed, spoiled, and genuinely grateful for the experience. We cannot recommend it enough, and we’re already planning our return.

Absolutely fabulous, 10/10! The staff, amenities and room were above and beyond! Quiet, adults only which was a plus. The staff especially made the experience, so nice, funny and took pride in their work. I can't thank Casa Velas enough and will absolutely be coming back!

We just returned form a week of pampering at Casa Velas. The room was fabulous, the food was excellent, and the service staff incredible. The beach club was very private and well maintained. If you are looking for an adults-only place to unwind and be taken care of, this is it. We'll be back.

We stayed at this resort in January and Casa Velas is truly luxurious. We had a suite overlooking the golf course with a private Jacuzzi on the balcony. The staff is friendly and helpful, the restaurants are gourmet and the beach is close. We highly recommend Casa Velas Boutique Hotel as a quiet getaway just minutes from the the airport and downtown.
