Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana

We had a wonderful family vacation. The rooms and facilities were clean. The beach was beautiful. Staff was welcoming and friendly.

My engagement ring was stolen from my hotel room -- kept securely in a zippered bag inside another zippered piece of luggage stored underneath the nightstand -- and the staff response was shocking. A security guard came with a translator, they were very judgmental that I didn't use the safe (I did not think that staff would be rummaging through multiple pieces of luggage) made me feel guilty and humiliated, and searched all my belongings, including my underwear drawer, as if I had done something wrong. They told me I had to take a taxi to the police station at 8:00 pm instead of arranging for police to come to the hotel. They promised a 48–72 hour investigation, but I never received any follow-up despite multiple emails. The beach is beautiful, and most staff are friendly. Food is okay. But the risk of theft is real, and the lack of support or empathy after such a violation makes this hotel unsafe for anyone concerned about their belongings.

The resort is dated and very beat up. Food is awful. Others felt the beach was very nice but we are pool people. The staff never cleaned our room after asking multiple times. Finally cleaned it on our last night and offer a free future stay no thank you.

We really enjoyed the Preferred options that were available especially around breakfast and lunch times. Having a dedicated concierge, thank you Roberto, was a tremendous help with arranging dinning reservation's for our group of 13. The quality and selection of food options was excellent and catered for children, family and fine dining choices. Staff were extremely polite and spoke excellent English. Our only criticism is that despite the hotel posting numerous signs, that beds should not be reserved before 8am this was never enforced meaning it was difficult to find these around the pool areas. The beach area was kept clean and staff regularly worked to pick up any trash and remove service items. Thank you for a great 10-day vacation and we look forward to returning again.

Recently came back from our 10 night trip, was my 2nd time in the Caribbean, 1st time in Dominican Republic, my was families 1st time outside of Europe so we wanted to make it special, it exceeded all expectations, the hotel grounds are beautiful, from all the palm trees to the vast array of pools, it truly feels like paradise, unlike anything I’ve every experienced before, the staff union arrival were fantastic and helpful, the room we stayed in was perfect, spacious, clean, comfortable, the staff for the buffets are kind and happy, the entertainment was excellent, the stand out staff for me was kelvin and jefry at the grotto bar, was playing around with my 8 year old son making him smile and laugh and made us all feel welcome, the entertainment was fantastic aswell, picachu, rissa and babyface was full of life, energy and you can tell they love doing what they do, they was all friendly and was happy to stop to interact with people when passing by, all the staff there made us feel welcome, helped create life long memories and was always incredibly helpful aswell as always being in smart uniform, the resort screamed luxurious and was kept to a high standard at all times, the beach was well maintained aswell despite people talk about the seaweed, the beach was cleaned daily, the sand and sea was as you’d expect from the Caribbean, overall it was an unreal experience, probably my most favourite place I’ve been to, only other contender is Mexico, couldn’t recommend it enough to families travelling with kids
