We had fantastic staff looking after our every need and just checking up on us throughout each day of our vacation. Billy our concierge was top notch!! We have been 4 times to this resort and always request him. He goes over and above. Maria our housekeeper for the week kept our room clean, always with fresh towels, and any incidental items we should need. Wanda our preferred club poolside server was a true peach! She was always on top our drinks. Keeping us always refreshed. The kid's club crew is fantasic, kept our 8 year old son busy, happy and always excited to go back everyday. Candy wasn't there this time but we sent our love to her through her crew Genesis, and Marige. Our server at the main stage area Yafreisy was always so happy to see us, and keep us and our drinks full. These are all wonderful staff and always make our vacations full of great memories! Thank you again!! Until next year!! We will look forward to seeing you all again. Best resort in Punta cana with best staff!!

We did not have a good experience here. We booked as part of a group for an event, so we wouldn't have normally chosen this resort but we were very close to moving midway through our trip. It says that this hotel is for couples and families, but if you're thinking of going here as a couple then just don't. It's a family resort and that is it. Go to an adult only! On the surface, this resort is lovely to look at, but that's as far as it goes. To call this a 5 star resort is a scam. Nothing about it is 5 star. The room - We arrived around 4pm, we went to check in and we were told that our room wasn't ready yet. The guy at reception suggested we go and get a drink and come back in 30 mins. We went back 40 minutes later, and we were told that it had been cleaned, but they were waiting for a manager to sign it off, so waited an additional 15-20 minutes for that. Not what you want after a 9-hour flight, but it is what it is! When we finally got into our room, it was just OK. It was nice and spacious, but it smelt damp, and it had very obviously been quickly cleaned. The rooms are outdated, the wallpaper was peeling off in the bathroom, the bed was HUGE but not very comfortable, cheap pillows and there was a black hair in the ice bucket. We were also in a room directly opposite the entertainment area, so if you want to get an ounce of sleep then good luck. Bring earplugs unless you want to hear people screeching on karaoke at half 10 at night. The doors do not keep any sound out whatsoever, so I was often awake until the early hours with the sound of people walking and talking in the corridors. The food & drinks - look, I don't know what else to say about the food other than it was horrific.... I wouldn't feed it to my dog. The food in the world cafe is terrible, it's stale food that looks as though it's been sat out for hours on end. Half of it was labelled incorrectly or not labelled at all. There seemed to be 1 pair of tongs per 2 or 3 dishes. The cross contamination between foods is crazy, so be careful if you have any kind of dietary requirements, allergies or intolerances. The tables in the world cafe were unclean, a thick layer of dirt and food between the table and the glass covers. The food in the other restaurants is strangely inconsistent and just bland. We went to the seaside grill one evening and I ordered the vegetarian main, which on the menu said it was grilled vegetables, romesco sauce & vegetable chips (whatever they are), I was served a plate of plain steamed vegetables. I was waiting for some sauce to come out but nothing else came out. A few of our group also ordered steak, and each of their plates looked completely different. It was just odd. Had a slice of cake for dessert, which had been taken straight from a box. Dry and flavourless. Room service is no better; the cheese quesadilla was stone cold and was seriously lacking cheese. Nachos arrived as plain chips with a tiny dish of guacamole on the side. It was the most depressing thing I've ever seen. The final straw for me was the night we went to the Mexican restaurant, and my meal was served with a dead spider on top. When I sent it back, no one apologised, the servers were really rude and kept looking at the ceiling as if the spider had fallen onto the food instead of being served that way. Trust me... that spider had been cooked. They took the food away without saying a word to me and brought me out a fresh one (or just removed the spider from the original). I didn't eat it. The Portofino restaurant was OK. You have to get a short golf buggy ride over there or you can walk across on the boardwalk which is beautiful. I pretty much lived on the pizza there for the entire holiday. The pasta dishes were flavourless and dry. It's such a shame that they don't offer any local Dominican food at the hotel. Overall, the food conditions here are unsanitary and seriously need sorting out before they make someone unwell. Drinks are just standard. Spirits that taste like pure chemicals and cheap wine. The cans of beer are the best out of a bad bunch really. The plastic cups that you get around the pool are disgusting. They are old, cloudy and yellow. The beach - the beach was nice and was really breezy, but obviously we were there during hurricane season, and a storm must have washed all the seaweed onto the beach which was so smelly and not the nicest to look at. The water was cloudy and full of seaweed, so we didn't end up going in the sea. There were tractors constantly trying to clear the seaweed away but come morning, it was all back. Not the hotel’s fault. There are also loads of people trying to sell stuff on the beach, so you constantly find yourself being disturbed and having to say no thank you. There were also a couple of Haitian guys who were trying to get us to go and visit their shop down the beach, they were pushy and would not take no for an answer. They then started asking us to get them beers. We did yoga on the beach a couple of mornings, and we loved that. The pool - the pools are OK; the water was warm and not very refreshing. I've always been fascinated by people who run down to reserve sun loungers at 6am... it wasn’t too bad when we were there though. Some people were reserving them super early, but there were loads down at the beach so didn't bother us too much. The staff - Most of the staff at this hotel are lovely. They're polite and always make an effort to say hello. Some of the bar staff are a bit rude and favoured certain people. Sometimes I was the only one at the bar and I'm stood waiting to be served for a ages because they were just talking between themselves or just not acknowledging me. The entertainment team who were down on the beach most days were great. There were lots of activities going on at the beach (rum tasting, dance lessons, Spanish lessons, yoga, volleyball) so a shoutout to the entertainment team :) We decided to make a complaint after finding the spider in the food, and to be fair, the management team handled our complaint fairly well and we eventually came to an agreement. The food and beverage manager said she would send some bits to our room as an apology, but they never turned up! Someone from the hotel messaged me for the last 4 days of our stay to check that everything was OK. If someone paid me a lot of money to stay here again, I would 100% choose preferred club (might want to re-think that name marketing team, to suggest guests are 'preferred' is wild). The other side of the resort which is part of the preferred area is beautiful. It's much smaller and calmer. There are only a few places to eat on the preferred side as the other restaurants are on the other side of the resort, but the food and drinks are SO much better and the sandwiches / bagels in the little ice cream shop are really good. The pools were a good size and not overcrowded, loads of sunbeds available. The rooms are modern and much cleaner. Beds are comfier. Honestly, it's like being in a different resort. Plus, you can't hear the entertainment and people on the karaoke so that’s a small win. It's a shame that you have to fork out a load of extra money just to be served normal, edible food but I guess that's just what these resorts are like. To summarise... don't stay here.

One of the most beautiful experiences we had had at any resort. The preferred club blew us away with the amenities and the intention to detail. Some of the best pool views we have ever had. Overall, you absolutely love the property and can't wait to go back.

I will start with check in, the person that checked us in was very arrogant. I believe his name or last name was Aquiles, not welcoming at all. Food at the buffet was horrible no flavor at all. Main pool is not all that not enough chairs. Stay away from this resort not worth the money.
