Reviews for Finest Punta Cana

Solid all-inclusive

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 hours ago

Excellent service, modern and well-kept rooms/facilities, very manageable size, good set up for families with small children. The food is the only weak spot. It's not bad but not great either, and it can be difficult to get into some restaurants. Hibachi is very popular but they have very few spots so people need to line up at 6:30am which is crazy. They should open up more Hibachi times and improve the quality of the food to match their excellent service.

Great family trip making memories.

This resort is great for families and if you enjoy a variety of restaurants to choose from each day. We traveled with six adults a four-year-old and a three-year-old for Christmas week. We were in the Finest Club section with two rooms Junior Suite with private pool and one two story rooftop terrace. We chose our rooms before arrival and the only one honored was the two-story rooftop terrace, not a big deal as we were all in the same building. One Junior Suite faced the pool, one didn’t. If you want two beds room 5064 had two beds which is the one facing the garden. For use, the two-story roof top was not utilized much and the steps to go up are very steep and marble so are slippery when wet. Rooms- Rooms were large and spacious with plenty of storage for items and luggage. They also have a room service closet, so you don’t need to leave your dirty plates and dishes outside the door. Finest club rooms with pools come with two beach towels in each room. Bedroom slippers and robes provided. Beach bag for your use while on property. Housekeeping- Our rooms were cleaned daily and were finished fairly early in the day. We did find stains in sheets and towels and the pillows, so we asked that those be changed out the first day. Nightly turn down service seemed to be random. Maybe three out of the seven nights. Not a big deal as that isn’t important to us, but nice to have fresh towels if needed. Food/Restaurants- The reservations for the week open on Monday. If you need to make a reservation, get there early as when I arrived at 7:05 a.m. there were already six people in front of me. I will note we had no trouble getting our Hibachi reservation for the day and time we wanted. The marketplace buffet has so many options that everyone was able to find what they wanted. They have a separate kids area buffet which is nice. Word of advice if your little ones enjoy Fruit loops grab them early as those seemed to go quickly, you can find the person re-stocking the cereals and they will help you secure some. Plenty of severs that came around to remove plates and refill drinks. We ate Insime the Italian restaurant, and the food was just okay, food was lukewarm at best. No issues with service here. We ate at Lizo, the Mexican and the food here was just okay and service was very slow. Brass Steakhouse was very good, and the wait was about 30 minutes when we went at 6:00 pm so not too bad. We reserved the Hibachi and this was the best meal we had with a great cook and entertainment for our family. Two in our party went to Domo for the Tomahawk steaks and loved it. Gusto was also highly rated by two in our party. Room service was good and only took about 30-35 minutes to arrive. We also went to Las Dunas and Dukes Lobster for lunch, and both were good and service quick. The nice thing about the sit-down restaurants and even the buffet is that they had a separate kids area with attendants so the kids could go play before or after eating their meal. The attendants were all so very nice and kind. We heard there was a nightly hot churro cart before we arrived, this does not exist on property we must have asked ten different people and they all said no. The ice cream shop got very busy after dinner and at times had limited options, for example no vanilla or strawberry, but the little ones loved the ice cream and there is ice cream in the buffet at night. There is also a cooler in the ice cream shop with sandwiches, fruit cups and juices that is grab and go. Service- Everyone we encountered with staff was pleasant and kind. A huge shout out to Humberto at the main pool, he provided excellent service to us all week and even got us clean, fresh towels one day after a rainstorm. He is truly an asset to the resort. Another shout out to Jose Raulin the lifeguard at the main pool, he set up chairs for us without asking and checked on us daily. Kids club- Plenty of activities all day long for the little ones in the kids club. You can choose to stay with your child or leave them with the staff. The waterpark was open and working. The baby waterpark was closed. We didn’t utilize anything, but the waterpark so can’t speak to staff but all of the children seemed to be having fun. Pools- We never had an issue finding chairs. Pools seemed clean, but at times debris was floating around and some of the tiles do need to be replaced. The pool was never overly crowded. Both the small and large blobs were up and working. Plenty of servers walking around for drinks etc. There is a poolside food menu located under the AquaBar section on the app to have food delivered poolside. We used that, as well as the food truck and all food was great. The pizza was good. Beach-The water was yellow flag all week with some days better than others. They did their best to keep it free of seaweed but there was seaweed. Not a big deal to us as it is hard to fight nature. They do have vendors walking around selling cigars, jewelry and souvenirs if you tell them no, they don’t harass you at all and will bargain with you for pricing. Finest Club- I think this is subjective as to if this is worth the upgrade. To me it wasn’t. I had to request three times that our roof top pool be cleaned. After the third time it was finally done. You are supposed to receive afternoon petit fours and fruit replenished daily. Two of our rooms never had the fruit replaced and one room got petit fours once in the afternoon. I inquired about this twice and it was still not resolved. Not a big deal to us I just think you should get what you pay for and what the resort advertised is included in the room. We didn’t utilize the hydrotherapy so that’s on us. It was quite a lot more money for this upgrade during the holidays so not sure to me it was worth the money. The beach area is no different than the normal section and the pool was just as good as the main pool. Seasons transfers- No issues whatsoever and car seats were requested and provided each way. We had a flight schedule change coming down and they had people there ready to go even though we arrived late. Pictures- We did family pictures and they turned out great. I think it was 320.00 for twenty digital pictures but you can also purchase individual pictures. Entertainment- They had nightly shows, and all were good. On Christmas Eve they had dancers and ballon making and face painting for the kids. Christmas Day, they had a Santa arrival with characters, a 360 camera and each child was given a gift from Santa, these were not cheap gifts either all name brand and age appropriate. I was very impressed with this gesture. Overall- We had a fabulous week making memories and would recommend this resort for families traveling with smaller children. Should be called "Fine" instead of "Finest"

Room had a mildew/sewage smell and my allergies and asthma was triggered during my entire stay and improved once I returned home. Room service is SLOW (over an hour to arrive). Housekeeping does not come frequently to clean and restore minibar without you having to call reception daily. When calling reception they sometimes don't pick up. Rooms have lots of wear and tear. Drinks are watered down. Food is okay. Pools and beach are great and property grounds are well kept. Staff was very pleasant, which was nice.

Christmas Vacation Nightmare

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We were very excited to spend Christmas 2025 with our kids at the Finest resort in the DR. I did a lot of research to find an upscale family all inclusive and thought I had found it in this property. I was wrong! the food was inedible. The buffet was disgusting for all meals. The restaurants were worse. The property was nice however nothing was maintained. The rooms needed everything from painting to cleaning and the service was fair if you could make them understand what you wanted. The men workers were very nice while all the women were nasty. The kids club which is supposed to be one of the main features was a disaster. There are tons of kids, the workers stand around, no one watches the kids. There is a gate that leads to the pool and no one watches that so if you are not there any kid could wander through the gate and be in that pool in a second. I am surprised they have not had any disasters. They have all these activities listed but you never see them. Towels were a hot commodity. A lot of the of the pools were dirty. I would advise you to be careful of the marketing materials. Talk to people before you go out of the country to some of these places. Customs going in was a pain in the butt as well.
