Service Is Second to None - 2nd Visit Somehow Topped The First

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

This was the second time visiting - we go away for spring break with another family. I did not believe the visit could have topped the first time, but somehow it did. The amount of staff covering all aspects of hospitality from service to cleaning, there is not anything missed. AMADO promotes, running the daily activities and had a great experience with him last year - he remembered us and came right over this visit with such happiness. He goes out of his way to explain the events, also making sure our children were having the best time, and coming back to share the fun activities that were upcoming. He does not miss a beat. CHAEL works with AMADO, and they are 2 of the nicer and fun people. You just want to be around them, such good energy. The hotel is lucky to have them on the team. GEREMI at poolside and the beach was beyond attentive and was always around to make sure we had what we needed. He was also so nice and we want to be around him with his good energy. CHRISTOPHER (butler) is extremely helpful and nice. It was my daughter's birthday and he made the day so special for her. We are thankful for him. ROSARIO at Hibachi went out of his away, and provided great service. Our 2 families cannot say enough about our experience and all the guests you run into having conversations with state the same thing, speaking so highly of this place. The place is immaculate, always clean and there is no shortage of fun activities to do. It is hands down one of better vacations that you have to experience for yourself - it is EXCELENTE!! -Gregg

Wonderful Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We had a terrific time at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana. The grounds are clean, spectacular, the staff is friendly, courteous and just simply amazing. We worked with Jenny Parelta, the office manager and she is such a wonderful role model for her staff. This is our second year in a row at the resort and hopefully, we will be back. The kids just love it there. There is so much to do for both kids and adults.

5 stars for real

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

This resort was recommended by AI and my travel agent and I was shocked to see that on TripAdvisor had nearly a five star rating. I went in super suspect traveling with three kids 12, 10 annd 8 and my mother who is in her 70s. First off it’s pricey, but it’s not any pricier than any all-inclusive during spring break. The things that struck me the most on this spring break versus others we’ve been to in Turks, DR and Cayman were as follows 1) I never saw them not have towels and people were using them very liberally 2) the waits for dinner were minimal and the resort had extra food stations for both lunch and dinner to accommodate how busy the resort is 3) while there were lines for the ice cream coffee bar, smoothie bar, etc. they moved pretty quickly 4) the service at the beach was really good. We had people coming around often to ask if we needed anything and handing out cold water. We tipped a few bucks at breakfast and on the beach, which perhaps contributed to our better service. We had a club one bedroom master, which was absolutely huge. It had two bathrooms, two showers and a Jacuzzi tub on the balcony. The room was super comfortable, and I actually thought the room was too big. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of towels. The pullout bed does not have any of that metal bracing and my eight-year-old commented it is the most comfortable bed he has slept on it is on the floor, however which my 12-year-old daughter did not like. The food was delicious. I don’t at all understand people that didn’t think the food was delicious. We live in Westchester and I thought the food was better than most of Westchester restaurants. It was definitely not Michelin starred but there were good options at every restaurant. We ate at chinola, the buffet, Tempest and the Italian place. The service was pretty good some hit or miss but more good than bad and again given that it’s spring break it was fabulous. I will add there were definitely things we ate that were not good or to taste but just say all the food is bad. It’s just a massive exaggeration. All of the servers seemed very accommodating and very kind and anything you asked for arrived expeditiously. The pool chair game was ridiculous. People are paying the security guards to do it at five in the morning however, it was windy the weekwe were here and there were always plenty of umbrellas and chairs at the beach. I also spoke to the cabana guy and he said this is the first week that the chair game was really bad and it’s self perpetuating obviously. In the afternoon, there were always chairs and there are always chairs at the waterpark. The pool is huge and is full, but not crowded. I noticed a lot of comments that the waterpark is far also ridiculous. It does take about six or seven minutes to walk there but again it’s not far. It’s just on the other side. We had a butler and I didn’t find him overly useful. I don’t know that I would’ve upgraded to club as we’re not big drinkers. The club lounge was nice, but we didn’t really use it. he did make us reservations though, which was nice. And we got to eat at the hibachi. The waterpark was great. My kids loved going for an hour each day. They did do the kids club and they liked it but for me, it was too much inside time. The activities near the beach for kids were awesome and the movie nights were a big hit. They also serve food which my kids loved having an appetizer with us and then going to the movie to eat. My kids were never bored and we let them basically run around on their own with check-ins which was really nice. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. The sand is very fine and sticks to you when it’s windy. The water is very blue but not crystal clear. I saw the word murky a lot and I wouldn’t call it murky. I would say that the sand is very kicked up and so you can’t see the bottom but the water is that turquoise blue. There was very little seaweed when we were here and it was seaweed different than sargassum. The beach is very wide, which I appreciated. I would 100% return to this hotel it definitely deserves the five stars. It was as close to American service as I’ve ever had in the Caribbean.

Great Experience 😍

Our stay at Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana was everything for spring break -spotless rooms (cleaned twice daily 🙌🏽), fully stocked mini bar, and room service on demand. The kids lived in the pools while we enjoyed poolside food + drinks. From served buffets to restaurant options, hibachi nights, and unlimited ice cream the food was good enough for an all inclusive. Add in a huge gym, water park with slides + lazy river, and the beach was beautiful and just steps away 😍 Top-tier service, friendly staff, and the perfect mix of family fun + adult escape… we’re already planning a kid-free trip back

Great trip, fun for all

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Well, year number two in the books. We traveled with the same family as last year and then added two more families to the mix. It’s so fun and sad typing this up as we are flying away from such an amazing location, building, and people. We had 6 people in our family this year (our regular 5 and a Spanish foreign exchange student) so we were unable to sleep as we had the year before. We were concerned that the check-in process would be difficult to figure out, but the club lounge process for check-in went seamless and one of our kids slept with another family in our group. We were introduced to our butler, Christopher, but he remembered us from our trip last year! Our first reunion! A side note for Chris - We chatted every day, he came through on every request, and would love to have him again in the future. What an awesome dude. We quickly got our sleeping situations settled, changed into our swimsuits and headed directly to the club pool. And then there was a second reunion…As we were walking up to the bar, Deiby stopped what he was doing and came out from the bar to greet me with a hug! Then Luiz said hi! Between the two of those guys (Roberto, too, for a little) we were in great hands from the bar. Superb service and friendliness. And I can’t forget about Nathaly and Anjely. What those two consistently greeted me and called us by name. The Mercado was another highlight for our group as a whole, but specifically there were a few people that stood out. We were here for breakfast every day of our trip. The ladies who took our names were always very sweet and helpful. Alfred and “Super” Gregorio were two fun gentlemen who went above and beyond for us. Franklin at one of the omelet stations made us the same thing every day and on the last day he was already prepared for me as I came up to the line. Such a small detail that meant a lot to me. And then Juan (also a fun bartender at Moments) and Andy along with the head chef came through with some fat free greek yogurt for my wife and me. The yogurt was not a regular item and they could have just said “no, I’m sorry we don’t have that.” But they went out and found it each time! Then at lunch, the sushi line. This was probably the best food I had while staying here. I don’t remember the gentleman’s name, but it was the same guy each day. He would make me a Poke bowl with the sushi ingredients and every single time it was incredible. I’m certainly going to to miss that. Then Julio at lunch with the ice cream. That chocolate is sooo good. The Coffee Shop - The people there were so nice. I can’t remember their names, but they took awesome care of us and our kids. Chinola Restaurant - The hostess there - her name eludes me, but she was so kind to us as was Cesar and Franmy. I spoke with Cesar the most and he even made a drink and named it after me…the Andres Special! Sax and Wine - This was probably one of the highlights of our week here. It was hosted by Alfred (who I’ll talk about later, too). The saxophone player was AMAZING! His name was Jordan, he said it was his first time playing at Ziva/Zilara. We asked him when he was coming back and he said he didn’t know. There was dancing there and he was responding so well to the crowd. People young and old were all enjoying themselves. Just an overall fun and very memorable experience that I would love to repeat. The bartenders were awesome as usual. I have already mentioned a few above, but there’s a couple more worth mentioning. Tall Fernando ran the cocktail making class and the Tequila tasting, he seemed very passionate about both and we had a good time. Meiby and Joan at the Twisted Timbers helped us a couple of the nights before dinner. But my favorite was someone who was just hired a few days before we arrived. His name is Walter (Wally) from Costa Rica. He is the man!! I can’t wait to see what he is going to do at Ziva/Zilara in the coming months and years down the road. He is someone that I would go seek out to make me a drink. Keep the guy around. And now the entertainment team…The batting cage was awesome again - Manuel gave me a lot of great pitches and also taught me how to speak to a crowd. Fun dude. Last year when we were here we loved the shows (specifically Queen and MJ), This year Michael Jackson was not as polished as what I remembered. We really loved Il Divo. But it wouldn’t be a Ziva adventure without Karaoke. We had so much fun last year doing this and it didn’t disappoint this year. Our last reunion was with Manuel, Amado, and Chael. They took such amazing care of us before, during, and after the songs we sang. Alfred even sang with me! I loved it!!!!!!!! But my son and his friend had a duet that they worked out a dance routine with and they were so concerned that they would’t get up there on their last night, but Alfred/Chael/Amado made it happen!!! The food/drink is top notch, the activities, the shows, the venue, the beach…This place really has it all, but there’s zero chance we would have returned if it wasn't for all these names I wrote about. These people again made this trip a forever memory. Thank you very much for such a wonderful week. Sadly we won’t be coming back in 2027, but we are hoping sometime in the future that we can return to this paradise that is filled with unselfish and caring employees who I can absolutely call them my friends. Nice job, Ziva/Zilara.
