Adults escapade

One of the greatest experiences we have had in a couple's escapade! Ask for Olga and Judith at the beach and pool, and they will take care of you in a significant way.

Great place!

Excellent experience with the resort, but they should not have the UVC people preying on uninformed guests. Watch out for the "Unlimited Vacation Club" vultures, they will outright lie to get you to purchase. We saw them coming a mile away, but don't be fooled by their fraudulent BS.

Wonderful, relaxing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We spent 14 nights at this beautiful resort. We had a very relaxing, amazing vacation. Almost every staff member we encountered from groundskeeper, security, bartenders, waitress, and management always greeted us upon passing. This was a return visit for us and we feel service food and drinks have improved since our prior visit . We never asked for anything extra and we never wanted for anything during our stay. Our favorite restaurants were Mexican, French and Italian. Our least favorite was Himizu the Japanese and we did not try Oceana the seafood. Was the Vacation perfect no but did they try? Yes. We had a couple issues which they tried to resolve promptly and they’re not worth mentioning. I know a common question people have is smoking. We did see smoking around the resort not in designated smoking areas. One night somebody was smoking at the bar and the main lobby bar. Although the next night, when someone tried to light up at the bar, they told them they had to leave that area it was not allowed. We did travel preferred absolutely loved it, but I believe you could have an absolutely amazing time at this resort traveling without preferred. We did spend time at the nonpreferred pool for entertainment and socialization. The biggest issue we had at the resort and I do realize everyone paid to be there, was groups that were extremely loud and obnoxious. It was a little irritating when you were trying to have a nice quiet romantic dinner and the table next to you is hollering and dropping F bombs continuously this happened multiple times in the restaurants, personally, I wish that behavior was left at the pools and bars. Staff took the time to call us by our names remember our drinks and even at times our repeat orders. Staff callouts, but so many more. Esther and Yelfri Spa, Alexandra- Coco Cafe, Anabel - Butler, Rigoroberto- Rosewater, Carlos Oceans preferred breakfast, Narquel and Marline Buffet, Maria preferred pool We definitely will return to this resort and we are planning our next trip back right now.

Ready to go back

This will be a lengthy review but with a lot of details. I genuinely hope that the hotel views this post and sees how amazing their staff is in this review. My parents, boyfriend and I just stayed here for a week and had an absolutely amazing time. First off the resort is beautiful, walking through the lobby you have an amazing view of the pool which also looks out onto the beach. You’re welcomed with champagne and are checked in. Our concierge was amazing , his name is Luis and he genuinely did go above and beyond for us. You are shown around the property by your concierge and shown to your room(s). One thing to note is you should research when is the best time to go to the beach in the DR because unfortunately the beach was covered in seaweed and we weren’t able to go in the water. Of course this is out of the hotels control so that is not reflected in the rating for this hotel. Cleanliness: we had two rooms and the woman who took care of us, Ana Lucia always made sure that we had clean towels and that the rooms were nice and tidy. The bathrooms around the resort were always kept extremely clean. Honestly whenever I used the bathroom right by the buffet restaurant it was always smelling clean and there was never a mess of water everywhere. It’s very impressive how well the bathrooms around the property were kept clean. Restaurants: for breakfast and lunch we went to the Market Cafe which is buffet style. The breakfast there was good most days. It wasn’t consistent with how good the food was but none of us left hungry. I will also say that I am a bit of a picky eater and for lunch I did struggle to find something to eat but my boyfriend who will eat anything also struggled a little to find something that he was interested in. The restaurants there are phenomenal. -Bordeaux: French restaurant, the aesthetic is extremely beautiful and the food is absolutely amazing. The menu is not large but I do think that they have something for everyone. We ate there twice. Their Travers de boeuf was the star of the show for us. -El Patio: Mexican restaurant, also amazing food. They give you guac and chips for the table and the guacamole was so so good. We also ate here twice because we couldn’t get enough of it. -Himitsu: Pan Asian and teppanyaki styled, this is the only restaurant that requires you to make reservations. The food was also extremely delicious. -Portofino: Italian restaurant, once again the aesthetic was beautiful and the food was delicious. The first night we were there they were having a themed night where the food and the tables are off the pool terrace area. The food is served buffet style. The theme for the night was Dominican and we were extremely disappointed and it’s not because we aren’t familiar with Dominican food and just didn’t like the flavoring of it, it just wasn’t good. Thankfully the rest of the nights made up for that first dinner because we left every restaurant extremely happy and very full. Now for the reason I’m giving this resort 4 stars and not 5. There were just small things that could have been better. One of the biggest reasons for giving it 4 stars is because of the gift shop. On day 3 I went to the gift shop early to buy a feminine product, they informed me that they didn’t have it in stock at the moment but to come back at around 2 because they would have received the shipment already. My boyfriend went at 2 and the shipment had come in but they hadn’t opened it yet so she told him to go back around 9. We both went back around then and another woman told me that they hadn’t received it. My mom went back the next day and told the lady that I had been in the night before looking for the product and she said she remembered but they still hadn’t opened all the boxes yet so she said to come back later. At this point we had already gone multiple times and we could t keep waiting so we informed our concierge Luis who handled the situation for us. Whether he himself went or sent someone to get it for us, it doesn’t matter. He even texted me a picture to make sure it was the correct ones. Within a couple of hours of informing him he resolved the situation for us. The buffet lunch did leave my boyfriend and I disappointed most times we went. There just wasn’t a huge variety BUT the good part was that they have a pool side restaurant called Barefoot Grill which does have your basics like nachos, burgers and quesadillas and it was extremely good so after going to lunch at the buffet at least 3 times we just resorted to eating at the bar and having something from Barefoot Grill. The bar called Rendezvous was terrible, this is the bar in the lobby. We ordered 3 different drinks there and they just were not good and were left untouched. My mom ordered an Iced Tea which took about Q 15 min to arrive and did not taste like anything. This is the only bar that we have negative things to say about The final reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because one of the reason we went on this trip was to celebrate my 30th birthday. They did an incredible job of decorating my room and putting a banner on the door. The bed was covered in rose petals that spelled out HBD and they had a cake and champagne for me. We cut the cake the night it was in the room and the next day when we went back the room the cake was gone. This was really disappointing because my family and I wanted to eat more of it. All over the hotel we saw several people with to-go containers so it would have been nice if maybe it was saved in there or even just left on the plate that it was originally in. Bottom line is that it was just extremely disappointing to us to not even be given the option of keeping the cake. Some good things about this hotel that’s good to know is that they are packed with activities so if you like to stay active and get to know people then this is fantastic for you. At the pool they bring around the drink of the day and we also experienced some fun things being given out. On different days they gave out things by the pool like grouper and fries, kabobs, coconuts cut so you can have coconut water, crepes and fresh fruit. Now to tell you what really made our stay special: THE STAFF. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. They make you feel like you’re part of their family. There were a couple of individuals who stood out to us. Breakfast: -Laura: she remembered our names and how many people were in our party. She saw my boyfriend trying to braid my hair and came over and did it for him. She always had a smile on her face when she saw us and always waved when she passed the pool area. -Sandy: he made my boyfriend and my father’s omelette every morning for breakfast. He did it with a smile and by day 3 remembered my dad’s order so when he saw him coming he would already start preparing it. That is being good at your job and taking pride in it. -Narquel: was so kind and also remembered our names. -Gibel: he was our waiter for breakfast as well as at the Mexican restaurant. He always put a smile on our face and was extremely kind and genuine with us. He was very attentive and always made sure we had what we needed. Concierge: -Luis: Luis was so kind and helpful. He would come and see us everyday and ask if we needed anything and made sure we were enjoying our stay. Honestly my family and I just wanted to relax by the pool and beach so we didn’t ask much from him except for the little market run but if we had any questions we would just text him and he would reply with any answer almost immediately. He told us about his journey and how he was a bell hop first and worked his way up to be concierge. Pool Area and Bar: -Angela: she was so sweet and kind and always made sure we were taken care of. She came by very often to make sure we didn’t need any food or drinks and without asking she always gave us a bucket full of ice and water bottles inside of it. -Alvaro: one of the best bartenders. He is amazing and you can just tell he loves what he does. He makes amazing drinks and if we went to him and said we didn’t know what to drink he would just make us whatever he made up and it was great. He spoke with you and got to know you and was just extremely kind. -Benito: again one of the best bartenders and also one of the sweetest men on this planet. His smile truly lights up the room. Another person who genuinely loves what he does and it shows. Bordeaux: -Fernando: he was our waiter the second time we went to the French restaurant. He was extremely attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. What set him over the top were two things. When we received our entrees he placed a plate in the center of the table because he thought that we might enjoy this dish as well and wanted us to try it. The second thing that set him over the top was when we all got dessert my mom didn’t order anything but he still brought her a small plate with three little things so she could have something just in case. Lastly the Entertainment: These individuals were truly something else and really strived to make whatever you participated in enjoyable. -Rhianna -Beyoncé -Ice cube -Scooby doo -Mini Mi Mini mi was very funny and always went out of his way to include everyone and make things fun. Yes, some may say well that’s his job…yes but he loves what he does and it shows with how he treats people and how he treats his job. He remembered my boyfriend’s name and always said hi, he even yelled my boyfriend’s name at the opposite end of the pool to say hi. All of these individuals are amazing at their job and really made our stay enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a fun and amazing time in Punta Cana. I genuinely want to go back to this hotel and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
