This will be our new home away from home

This place is the best. Just the right amount of everything! We stayed in a preferred swim out suite but spent a lot of time at the preferred pool. This is our 2nd secrets resort but this is the first time I took part in the activities, thanks to a very amazing activities staff. Gregory was such a blast to hang out with. He sat and played cards with us and was just so much fun to chill with. He is one of the main reasons we are going back. We also had an amazing butler Jonathan who checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed without being too much. The wait staff was incredible as well. The food was good but the experience was amazing! We are going back again in January!

An Unforgettable Honeymoon Paradise!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at Secret Tides, and we are still floating on cloud nine. If you are looking for the ultimate romantic getaway where you don't have to lift a finger, this is absolutely the place to be. The resort itself is stunning - pristine beaches, beautiful pools, and a perfectly relaxed, luxurious atmosphere - but what truly sets Secret Tides apart is its incredible, world-class team. We want to give a massive, heartfelt thank you to some specific superstars who made our honeymoon extra special: Alberto, Edwin, and Jordy: The absolute best bartenders at the lobby bar! Every evening (and a few afternoons!), they brought incredible energy, mixed fantastic drinks, and always greeted us with the warmest smiles. They made the lobby bar our absolute favorite spot to unwind. Justin: The life of the party! His energy on the entertainment team was unmatched. He kept the vibes fun, engaging, and lively, adding so much joy to our stay. Zuny: An absolute gem of a waitress! She took such amazing care of us and kept the drinks flowing perfectly. Her warmth, kindness, and attentiveness made us feel incredibly pampered every single day. Honestly, we wish we could name-drop every single person we encountered, because everyone else on the team - from housekeeping to the rest of the staff - was phenomenal. The service here isn't just professional; it is genuinely warm and personal. They truly understand how to make a honeymoon feel like a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. We left a piece of our hearts at Secret Tides and are already trying to figure out when we can come back for an anniversary trip. Thank you all for making our dream honeymoon a reality! 10/10 highly recommend!

This was our fourth time to Secrets Tides and it just keeps getting better and better, first let me give a shout out to Felix at preferred bar in the lobby, Luis at the preferred swim bar, Alvaro preferred club manager, Lucia hotel manager, Miguel, who is a Butler but he wasn’t our Butler amazing guy. There was a kid at the preferred pool, handing out towels and doing other stuff. I can’t remember his name, but he needs to be a Butler amazing kid. Everything at the resort was great. The food has gotten better. The rooms are amazing. The atmosphere is great. And the resort was very clean. Had no complaints. Last but not least our Butler Jorge, what an amazing person, he took care of everything for us. We’ve had him all four times we’ve been to Tides and we are going back in September. He is truly become part of our family.

Outstanding stay at Secrets Tides, May 31-June 6

I had the most amazing time at Secrets Tides Punta Cana last week. Property: The property is beautiful and immaculately maintained. It is green and lush, with beautiful flowers and landscaping throughout. The lobby is open and spacious, with plenty of seating, as well as a bar. Live music is performed every evening there, and it is a place where guests can dance, sit and talk, have a drink, or relax. One of the most exciting (and different) features of this property, compared with other Secrets in the DR, is how accessible it is for people with mobility challenges. There were quite a few people in motorized/non-motorized wheelchairs, who were able to get everywhere around the property because of all of the ramps, wide hallways, and elevators. I have not seen this before, and I applaud the resort for making this so easy to navigate for people with disabilities. Gym: This property has a beautiful and spacious 2-level gym. Most of the equipment is on the 2nd floor, and there is even a separate group fitness studio on that level. There is all new equipment, plenty of treadmills, lots of weight machines, free weights, and it comes with a beautiful view of the gardens. I was there nearly every day of my stay, and it was great. One of the best Secrets gyms in the DR. Food: We loved the food at all of the restaurants. We were Preferred Club, so we also had access to Oceana for breakfast and lunch, as well as El Patio for breakfast. The buffets was well-designed and had everything you could want. This also included a smoothie bar, with protein powders and lots of natural juices and mix-ins. There were plenty of options for vegetarians, as well as those who are looking for healthy choices. We especially loved our dinner at Tierra, the Amazonian restaurant. The Mahi was outstanding, as was our service. We also enjoyed Portofino (excellent pizza, risotto, and great service), the Hibachi experience at Meraki, and steak at the Seaside Grill. We never went hungry, and there were always snacks available in the Preferred Lounges (at least 3 of them), as well as in our room. Entertainment: This was one of the highlights of our trip. We loved all of the activities, but especially the Noon Water Aerobics each day at the main pool. It was so much fun! Kudos to the US-based instructor who taught there each day of our stay. They also offered yoga, paddleboard yoga, pool and beach volleyball, all kinds of arts and crafts activities (hat making, bracelet making, candle making, painting, etc), cornhole, etc. There was so much opportunity to really do a lot – or just relax on one of the 4 pools. The music at the pools was terrific – chill and not too loud. E-Team: Special Shout Out to: Skinny Girl, Chakira, Rodolfo Chocho, Tedi, Gregory, and the rest of the team. What an amazing group of individuals, who worked so hard to ensure we felt welcome and included. Butler: I have to commend our butler, Miguel, on an outstanding job! He was always there to help us (mostly with securing a dinner reservation), and he made a point to come and find us each day to check in on us and ensure we were having a terrific stay. I definitely plan to ask for him on my return visit to Secrets Tides. Pools: Fabulous! Plenty of chairs there and on the beach. Vendors did not bother us at all on the beach (there were very few of them), and the sand was glorious. Lot of beach for enjoying the beautiful Atlantic Ocean views! Overall: This is a 5-Star resort! It is one of my top favorites, and it is one that my family and I will return to at the end of the year. The pools, grounds, staff, facilities, entertainment (shows/live music), and setting are all top notch. I highly recommend Secrets Tides!

Aesthetic hotel but a little boring!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We have just stayed 11 nights here and it was lovely! The hotel itself is very aesthetic and the grounds are maintained to a very high standard. The hotel location is very secluded, so nowhere to really walk too when you get a little bored of the hotel. We walked 5 mins one way to a small shopping complex but was very harassed and did a very quick u-turn! Walked 10 minutes the other way to another hotel which had a small convenience store which was a lot better! The day time was everything I could have asked for and more! The main pool is extremely relaxing and quiet and the other pool is on the livelier side but nothing like European pools can be! Still quite chill, but they do more of the activities here so we switched to the main pool. Didn’t spend anytime on the beach because of the sargassum but not the hotels fault at all! beach was lovely though! Food was disappointing, breakfast buffet was ok, lunch was poor imo (I only had it twice) and the evening restaurants were mediocre. Best by far was Meraki - however, second time had an extremely rude waiter who pointed at me and said ‘NO, you first’ when my boyfriend went to order first. But the food was delightful! Sushi 5/5, spring rolls 4/5, duck bao 4/5, sweet and sour pork, teriyaki chicken and fried rice 5/5. Steakhouse is nice, sides extremely disappointing though! Wine list in all restaurants is incredibly overpriced. Worst - probably Portofino, service was far too quick in and out in 20 minutes - pizza and lasagne very disappointing! Had room service once after Saona Island trip which took 12.5 hours!! But honestly, the burger was one of the best things i had the whole stay! The evening entertainment is very disappointing and the hotel is boring in the evenings. We really struggled with this and were back in bed by 10pm every night!! The house band, DJ set etc is the same track list every day just in a different order. I was really looking forward to the silent disco but this was so disappointing! Very American catered with some terrible song choices and the other channel was Spanish. We enjoyed Spanish Freddy Mercury but that was it. Room cleanliness was ok. Under the bed looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for some time - incredibly dirty. I found someone else’s eyelashes on the rug! The fixtures round the shower was dirty and the floor felt dirty all the time - I wore my slippers constantly. We upgraded at time of booking to a Swim-up room but honestly was a waste of time because the sun only hits the swim up until midday and then it’s in the shade! I also didn’t see them clean the swim ups very often and the tiles on ours started to go green. The little cafe was ok, coffee far too strong imo and the iced coffee was made with cold water not milk. Cakes were a bit rubbish. Ice cream was 10/10. We were there to watch the Champions League final in the sports bar, but they stream all the sport so it was buffering and freezing a lot! Same with the basketball/golf/hockey etc. nice ambience though and good service! If you are looking for nothing but relaxation this is the hotel for you, because there is very little to do! No water sports either which I found strange! Would we visit again? No, probably not, food really let it down and we figured out we would enjoy something more lively!
