Stayed April 2026 – Preferred Swim-Out Suite My spouse and I spent our honeymoon at Secrets Tides Punta Cana in April and had a very enjoyable stay. The resort is beautiful, modern, and well-maintained—exactly what we hoped for in an adults-only all-inclusive. We stayed in a Preferred Club suite with a swim-out pool, and it was fantastic. The room felt spacious and luxurious, and having direct access to the swim-out pool was perfect for relaxing. The pools throughout the resort were excellent—clean, spacious, and especially fun thanks to the fantastic swim-up bars. The beach was also a highlight: clean, well-kept, and peaceful with plenty of space. Food was decent with good variety. Our favorite was the Amazonian restaurant—it stood out as the best during our trip. We enjoyed the options and never went hungry. Service was attentive overall, and the events/entertainment staff were top-notch and really added to the fun atmosphere. Our butler, Carela, did a fine job taking care of us. Once we connected, he was on the ball with anything we needed! From decking out our suite with honeymoon treats to a dinner on the beach. We’d happily recommend Secrets Tides for couples, especially honeymooners looking for a relaxing, romantic getaway with great pools and a beautiful beach. It’s a solid resort with a lot going for it. We’d give it an 8/10—a great choice for a special trip in the Dominican Republic!

We stayed at Secrets Tides for 5 nights and we had an amazing time. The resort is really beautiful. The service there is top notch, everyone is very friendly and attentive. We ended up joining the preferred club for the top shelf liquors and access to the other bars, pool and Oceana restaurant. We also had a preferred section of the beach which was nice. I’m glad we did it! Oceana has amazing views right next to the ocean and the breakfast was delicious. Overall the food was pretty good everywhere. I don’t always expect the most amazing food from all inclusives but we were impressed. People who have visited the Punta Cana area warned me about eating certain foods and drinking the water but we ate just about everything with no problems, as well as drinking the water from all the restaurants. I’d also like to give a shout out to our butler Darwins who we had a really great experience with. He was always checking in on us and made sure anything we requested was taken care of. He was super personable, he would come and sit down with us just to chat and get to know us. My boyfriend proposed to me there and Darwins was there to take photos and videos which was awesome! When we came back to our room there were rose petals all over and rosè waiting for us! He helped to make it really special for us. The beaches were really nice as well, they cleared the seaweed from them every single day. The beach vendors could get a tad annoying but they would not bother you if you made it clear you are not interested. Overall we had a really great time, one of my best vacation experiences.

Great resort with great amenities and service. The beach was beautiful, well maintained, and the preferred club service did not disappoint. Butler Emmanuel always looked out for us and accommodated special requests we had to make our stay even more enjoyable. Looking forward to returning in the future.

Beautiful hotel, but terrible for food allergies. Pros - Very clean, beautiful grounds, lovely pools - The beach is stunning. Hardly any seaweed, much bluer water than we expected, powdery golden sand - We stayed in a swim out room - it was great! We requested to be resort-facing rather than garden-facing via email ahead of the holiday, and this was given to us - highly recommend. The rooms are modern, spacious, beds are super comfy - one of the best rooms we’ve had at an all-inclusive - Cocktails were fantastic and some of the best we’ve had - Entertainment shows were really good. The sports bar is also great in the evenings Cons For us, the only major issue was on how the resort handle food allergies. Yes, they give you a card that says what you’re allergic to, and yes, they ask at every restaurant if you have any allergies, but this means nothing. The buffet and menus have allergy labels, but these are totally wrong and need updating. At the buffet, with an all-inclusive resort, we usually get shown around by the chef to let us know what we can / can’t eat. Here, it’s impossible to find someone to show you around. When we did find a senior chef, he wasn’t even sure - he had to make 2 separate phonecalls to staff who weren’t working to see if they knew! The à la carte restaurants were all pretty poor. Menus are wrongly labelled, staff are not confident or trained in what we could eat, and we asked to speak to a chef multiple times at restaurants and they said there is no need. Numerous times, dishes were brought out that we clearly could not eat - for example, with a dairy allergy, mashed potato is a no go, but they said its fine as there’s “only a little bit” of cream. Tierra and El Patio were the best - one of the servers said I could have something, but 15 mins later a manager came out and let me know this is incorrect, and he suggested other things instead. Also, our food allergies are pretty common (dairy or gluten), and dishes can very easily be adapted (eg swapping a creamy sauce out, cooking with oil rather than butter), but we found staff and all of the restaurants to be very inflexible and unable to accommodate, so we ate a lot of the same stuff. Some of the staff were very impatient and arrogant too, which made it even harder. I never expect a dessert, but a lot of all-inclusive resorts are able to do something in this day and age. Sorbet was available, but in the buffet and at the Coco Cafe it’s topped with chocolate and biscuits - which entirely defeats the point of making something allergy safe? We did voice all of these concerns whilst at the resort. On day 2, concierge said they will let the al a cartes know ahead of time that we are coming - this did nothing and still lots of mix ups and misunderstandings. We went back on day 4 to explain, and they put in a request that the chef comes to our table from now on - this was never done. By day 5, we had lost hope - they checked in regularly with us, but nothing was changing at the restaurants. They also offered for us to meet with the food and beverage team separately, but I don’t see what benefit this would have. I completely understand there may be a language barrier at times, but a member of our party speaks fluent Spanish, so this wasn’t an issue. Staff don’t seem to care or understand the extent of allergies, and there is not a good system in place for the handling of them or accommodating guests. We raised the issue with management (Fernando), and on the last day he offered us a free upgrade to preferred if we return again in the next year. This is a nice gesture, but a little too late - would’ve been nice if they did this during our stay - as I don’t have the confidence they can turn things around for allergies that soon. We will not be returning to Secrets Tides - it is beautiful and wonderful, but the worst place I’ve ever stayed at for food allergies - I’m lucky that my reactions are not fatal.
