Secrets Tides Punta Cana

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Secrets Tides. We opted to stay in a preferred room, and our butler, Estarlyn Carela, was attentive and accommodating. We felt like we had everything we could get ever need. Highly recommend!

Good location approx 45 minutes from the airport. Check in was efficient and our butler luiz gave us a guided tour of the resort to settle us in . The room was very clean modern as you would expect from a newish resort bed was comfortable and everything in good working order. The one major issue I have with the resort is over selling the preferred experience. As an experienced Hyatt traveller I normally travel preferred. At this resort once all the preferred suites are sold out they allow you to keep your own non preferred room but upgrade to preferred status on the rest of the resort. This means that your preferred area which you are paying a significant amount extra for is over crowded . The preferred pool not a place you can swim because it’s so overcrowded this also has a knock on effect with lounger chairs with many reserved before 5.30 am and not sat in till after 10 am . While staff do try to police the situation they are overwhelmed by the amount of visitors to that area of the resort and just have to go with the flow . The à la carte restaurant experience and setting for breakfast was lovely but that’s not much return for an extra 2500 pounds preferred upgrade. The mini bar promise of premium beer in ge fridge was never met . After our butler personally delivered it three times after complaining I gave up asking the lad had enough to do without doing someone else’s job also. Overall would I return … Yes definitely but not preferred status A non preferred swim up offers much better value in my opinion no rush to reserve beds

One of the best Secrets resorts in the Vacation Unlimited portfolio. The facility was beautiful. The rooms are outstanding. All the restaurants were very good and we enjoyed Oceana the most. We traveled as preferred guests and worth it. Our butler Jonathan Melo was definitely a highlight to our stay. He was available to answer questions and helped make our stay perfect. We have been to many Secrets and Jonathan is the best butler we have had. So if you go.....stay preferred and request Jonathan!!!

This resort is phenominal. Beautiful scenery 10+, good food & drinks, however it was the service of each person we encountered that made this place so special. Well run, preferred worth it here. Our butler Estarlyn was top notch. Was not sure on the butler thing initially, but Estarlyn he made life easier each day with recommendations and arrangements. He wanted to pamper us and it was genuine. One night he decorated our room with rose petals upon hearing we had an anniversary early on. Thank you Estarlyn! Will return! Highly recommend!
