Had a fabulous 10 days at the Club Barbados resort with my wife. This is one of the older resorts on the island but has a real relaxed atmosphere. The staff are very friendly if you engage with them. They are busy at times especially in the Restaurant but are courteous and efficient. As this trip was our first to Barbados we were very pleased with it. Our trip was obviously during the off season/wet season but still plenty of fabulous sun. Being their quiet season the resort had some building work going on with 1 restaurant being refurbished and 1 of the 7 blocks being refurbished that did make some occasional banging noise but it wasn't bad. The food was very good and lots of variety on offer. A special shout out to the lovely lady who cooked my omelettes each morning, always a smiling face and a laugh. Also to Kereen and Sophia who make the best cocktails and were great fun. The resort lost its sandy beach a few years ago to a storm but this has created a wonderful snorkelling area between the resort and Sandy Lane beach. We spent hours each day swimming with pretty fish. Sandy Lane beach is literally 300 yards along from the resort and is the best beach on the island. Our room was ground floor overlooking the pool area and was very clean, air con worked very well and maid service daily was good. Evening entertainment was good and varied. Reception were very helpful with which trips to take. I recomend the half day jeep safari which takes you around the plantarions and gives a glimpse of the real Barbados history. We had such a good time at the resort that we are already looking to book for next year.

In two weeks, the following issues managed to destroy years and years of happy experiences and memories from previous visits. 1, The photos are proof of poor quality. 2, My wife requested a hair dryer on Day 2. On Day 3 we had to request again and eventually it turned up. 3, Advertised menu items either weren't available, and no one told you, or they were substituted and no one told you. 4, Simple drink requests were not always available. 5, Guests we spoke to either had no hot water for a couple of days, or were put in the wrong room and eventually were moved. 6, The Sunset Bar once played music with the lyrics of a song including "Pu**y" and "F**king". 7, In the second week there was someone with a leaf blower from 07:00am till 13:00pm. The resort is not so big that it takes 6hrs to clear. 8, Huge groups of American guests virtually took over the resort with their noise, loud music and racial profanity to which none of the staff intervened. 9, Worst of all was a section of the staff. There were either rude or extremely rude. If you asked for a drink and they didn't have an ingredient, you would just get "NO MINT", "NO TEA", etc etc. No polite apology, just "NO!" Conveniently all these staff members failed to wear their name badges. One was so rude to my wife about the placing of a cocktail menu, I had to ask her to calm down. Why didn't I report any of this? How can you report something to staff who either don't care or have an extremely poor attitude in the first place. I had no faith in anything being addressed. We could have stayed anywhere else but we chose The club because of the wonderful times we've previously had. We will never stay at this resort again and warn anyone else if needed. As I wrote, in two weeks the above issues managed to destroy years and years of happy experiences and memories from previous visits.

Had the best holiday at The Club with my husband. We found everyone to be so friendly and helpful. It has everything you could possibly want for a laid back relaxing holiday but also offers activities and water sports. We personally enjoyed the rocky frontage to the resort as we had some awesome snorkelling experiences, literally like swimming in an aquarium. For the best beach on the island, Sandy lane beach is seconds away and very easy to get to, why people make a fuss about paddling through a bit of lovely warm sea to get there beats me. The breakfast buffet offered everything you could possibly want. The food at lunch time was varied and again offered a wide variety of food, all delicious by the way. We enjoyed our evening meals, delicious, served by wonderful friendly people overlooking the sea. The 3 pool areas were great, one quieter another with a party vibe, surrounded by gardens with pretty tropical trees and flowers. The whole resort had a wonderful Caribbean vibe, we personally didn’t want a large modern resort, so The Club was perfect for us. Our room was clean, air con worked well, we overlooked the pool, serenaded by tree frogs and crickets through the night. The endless cocktails were amazing, well made, I loved the Bloody Marys, nice and spicy. It’s a shame people have written negative things about The Club, I think some people just look for things to moan about. We had the best holiday, value for money, and can’t wait to return next year

The purpose of my trip was to celebrate my birthday and celebrate I did. My stay was truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that immediately made me feel relaxed and welcomed. Dimitri who shares the same birthday as me took my luggage to my room and was helpful, friendly, pleasant and professional. I stayed in an oceanfront room which was beautiful. I slept to the sound of the waves. The only complaint was the AC didn’t work properly and even after a supposed repair, it malfunctioned soon after. The property had well-maintained grounds and comfortable accommodations. The facility also had monkeys. Lol. It’s a small resort so you won’t get lost and there is always staff around to help. The only downside is not too much activities on the resort. I liked the live band, karaoke and the piano bar. The resort staff helped me re-book my tour of the island after it had been canceled by another company although it was way too expensive. They also helped me figure out how to find out about my Bajan family by recommending the Archives Department. Food was good whether at Enids or downstairs. Enids has to serve real traditional Bajan food. What stood out most was that the staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making my stay special. They and some of the guests made me feel extra special on my birthday. Some of the names I remember are Kathy-Ann and Brianna at the front desk, Mia, Sherry, Guye at the bar who was a pleasure to talk to and thought me how to play Oware. Rohan at the fitness center who was knowledgeable, pleasant, and professional. The spa service was great. Sheryl and Indira were a joy. They were more but I don’t remember all the names. Everyone seemed pleasant. I would happily return and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an intimate beautiful and memorable getaway. I am sorry for the guests that had unpleasant experiences, perhaps the resort can’t handle large groups of a certain size. I truly had a wonderful experience from beginning to end!

Shocking the fact that between average and terrible this place has 1/3 of its reviews over 700 is alarming alone. Where do I start … We arrived at the club Barbados on our honeymoon for 8 nights costing us just short of £5000, First impressions the hotel looked very basic and tired. We was shown to our room ( the wrong room) I’d selected a premium room with a sea view and balcony. We was given a loft room 3 flights of stairs up with no balcony which we complained about straight away and was told there was no other rooms but will be the next day. We just shrugged it off and went about our day. We walked around to get our bearings and just found the place to be pretty grubby and not very well maintained for the money we paid we expected a lot more. The next day things become worse we had a slip under our door stating that 1 of the only 2 restaurants on site and the rum bar /sports bar is closing for refurbishment leaving only the sunset restaurant and sunset bar remaining.. we appreciate things need to be refurbished but to be told this on our second day is not really acceptable and this caused a major impact to our holiday the place become like a building site drilling banging all day. And very boring eating in the same place every day, We tried to just get on with it but things just kept cropping up and highlighting just how bad this hotel really is… Flys for 1 they are everywhere you can’t eat without being swormed by them They are left to just go all over the food in the buffet area it’s actually pretty disgusting. I didn’t eat any of the buffet food, The cleanliness of this hotel really needs addressing if they had a hygiene inspection they would probably get shut down in the uk. We was there for 9 days and didn’t see the pool area get washed down once only when it rained. We had chipped plates at dinner chipped cups at breakfast. An aircon unit that chucked water out down the wall soaking the floor, The sunloungers are all stained, there was broken glass around the pool, cigarette buts, wrappers, plates and glasses left from the day before just grubby and lazy. My last complaint is the staff the women here are so rude there’s a select few that are really nice but most are miserable and moody and look at you like sh@t I wouldn’t recommend The club Barbados and the fact they are getting away with saying it’s a 4 star hotel should be a criminal offence ! It’s a 2 star and that’s being generous The club Barbados completely ruined our honeymoon My advice avoid this place
