Great time at Sandals Antigua

Fantastic 10 nights at Sandals Antigua. Staff are mostly so friendly. Was not crowded at all. (Late August). Particular shout out to Joy at the pool bar and Eyssa at beach bar who were friendly.

PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE WASTING YOUR MONEY HERE !

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

If you want to waste lot of money, entertainment that hardly ever happens. If you want to go to a public beach ( this is the beach for the resort) where people bug you nonstop to buy stuff and after you do then they want you to get them food and a drink. If you want to spend most of your day trying to get reservations for dinner from the lady in the lobby who most of the time is not there or her computer is down. Have most of the staff talk to you with attitude. Have half of your excursions canceled. And last but not least, go to the spa get overcharged for a service. Then people try to sneak in your room. But don't worry when you try to look the massage lady will pull the sheet over your head and try to stand in front of them so they can hide in the corner until they can sneak out. Then this is the place for you. Then when you tell the management you are told to go to the gift shop and get something. SERIOUSLY THERE IS SOMETHING VERY SUSPICIOUS GOING ON HERE. THE WOMAN DOING THE MASSAGE RAN FROM MY LEG TO MY HEAD AND PULLED THE SHHET OVER MY HEAD. Be very careful if you book here. I would highly recommend going anywhere else. The one positive was the food . Follow up on putting a complaint in to Sandals . Was ignored until I messaged again then given the a simple sorry form letter . Wow

Great Staff and Great Vibes

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Great vacation with the best staff! We were worried about the weather because it showed it was going to rain but it barely rained. We had a great time staying 6 days. You need to try the free snorkel snorkeling. Some of the best staff members are: Photographer: Davindra (AKA Devin) Vibes: Lynnique (AKA Lynn) Swim up bartenders: Kahdeem and Natilia Kimonos: Jayson

AMAZINGGGG

This trip has been amazing! We have met amazing people and encountered amazing staff. Lynn from entertainment was so fun to be around. Super J and DJ Junior were amazing as well, making the events fun. Davindra from photos was great and our photos came out great. At the Mediterranean pool bar, Kahdeem, Dantay, Natilea were so kind and served us with pleasure. Jayson and Alyssa from Kimonos were a great way to end our trip. Would definitely recommend sandals Antigua and will be back to another sandals in the future! -Olivia and Victor

Outstanding Service & Care for Dietary Needs (Gluten Free/Dairy Free)

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

This was our second time at Sandals Grande Antigua. We were hoping the experience would be just as good as last year and were pleasantly surprised that it far exceeded our expectations due to the exceptional staff. Traveling can cause anxiety when one has intolerances to gluten and dairy but that is a non-issue at this resort. I reconnected with Kellyn, the Culinary Concierge, upon arrival and everything went smoothly throughout the week. Even though you don’t need reservations for each restaurant, I quickly learned that if I told Kellyn where I would be eating every meal, she would send a note to the staff and chef so that they were aware of my dietary restrictions. Many a time, the chef would come to my table (Chef Kerri) or out to the buffet area (Chef Juliann and Chef Josette) to let me know what I could eat or what could be modified for me. The staff and chefs were so warm and friendly – I never felt like a burden, and there were always plenty of food options. Kellyn, the Culinary Concierge, continuously went above and beyond to give me culinary experiences I usually miss out while traveling. I was thrilled with the availability of desserts that were both gf/df because Kellyn, the Culinary Concierge, and Tracey/Shantae from the Café made sure to make special orders on my behalf, which allowed me to indulge in a treat at the Café in the afternoons and a dessert after each meal. Chef Adrien made incredible desserts (including gf/df crepes) throughout the week! Special shouts out to the following staff who went above and beyond during this incredible trip 1) BAYSIDE: We went to BAYSIDE for every breakfast, lunch, and several suppers – we had our favourite meals here including the best made to order omelettes, tasty luncheon dishes, and the best steak and lobster tails: -Stephenson always anticipated any need and was full of wonderful surprises (i.e. brought a large mug and non-dairy milk for my tea, and would prepare a platter of fruit to go). He made meals truly special, as we were always greeted with a smile, had genuine interactions – it was an incredible start to each day! -Cathy and Dale, both managers, were incredibly hospitable and ensured everything went off without a hitch. Their great sense of humour in addition to their warm, attentive, and incredibly hospitality did not go unnoticed. -Chef Josette and Julean always made me feel like I wasn’t a burden when they would guide me through the safe buffet options, always a smile. -Big thank you Tamara and Chadesha for wonderful and professional service. 2) MARIOS: We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Marios several evenings thanks to Braymell and Jasmine. Big shout out to Jaraine for going above and beyond to make our night there very enjoyable and for being so thoughtful on my husband’s birthday. 3) CAFÉ de PARIS: Wow! Tracey and Shantae, the ladies at the Café de Paris go above and beyond to ensure those with dietary restrictions are not left out of the wonderful treats, such as dark chocolate pudding, crepes, coffee cake, caramel cake, and the best chocolate cake I’ve ever had, just to name a few. Big thank you for the special touches they did on my birthday. 4) Drunken Duck: Safiya was an absolute delight If you are worried about dietary needs, I would highly recommend SGA. The only meal that we didn’t enjoy was the OK Coral. They recently changed their menu, which was disappointing as it isn’t nearly as good as the old one, and the options were very limited. I have never felt so safe and well-taken care of when it comes to food options. Kellyn, the Culinary Chef, went above and beyond to ensure that my food experiences were stress free. Her special touches turned a great vacation into an extraordinary one! She checked in with me regularly, and when on one occasion I mentioned that I would like some df (non soy) milk for my tea, she didn’t hesitate to make a special order and have it available that very afternoon. We usually choose a different location every year; however, she was a big reason why we chose to return this year, and we will definitely be coming back again soon!
